Saw first 3 episodes ... could not help BUT laugh. Bobby is always funny even though trying to be serious.

Kenix, Benny & Annie good as always.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

The story basically follows a high official (a judge, basically) -- played by Bobby -- to a small town, where its citizens include Kenix and Benny. Kenix is the local "ah por (牙婆)". No, she isn't a dentist (which is the first thing I thought when I heard the term ). She's in charge of taking care of the female convicts in jail. Anything they need, she's supposed to get or arrange for them (ie. specific foods, seeing a doctor, etc.). Benny is revealed in the second episode to be Kenix's brother, but you wouldn't know it watching the first episode cuz they act more like friends, which actually leads to a misunderstanding where the entire town thinks they're actually lovers.

Anyway, long story short, Bobby finds out the first case he presided over was actually rigged by his mother because she wanted him to have confidence to continue being a judge. He also finds out that his long-time assistant is actually a greedy jerk and that his 3 wives (played by Lui San, Eileen Yeow, and Annie Man) have actually been taking "donations" from people related to past cases (which is, of course, illegal). All of this hits him hard and he decides from now on, he wants to solve cases on his own, but that's hard cuz he's not exactly what you would call "quick". More on that later. Anyway, blahblahblah...he comes upon a pillow (it's actually made out of porcelain...I really don't know how people slept on these things back then) and in a dream, he finds out (from an old man, played by Lo Hoi Pang) that the pillow can help solve cases. More blahblahblah...he holds onto the pillow and uses it to get hints on the case he's working on right now. The pillow doesn't "activate" until he sleeps. Whenever he does, he "enters" the pillow, where Lo Hoi Pang awaits him and gives him riddles which he must solve to get a clue.

I know that probably sounds very confusing but it's quite straightforward and amusing in the drama.

Anyway, in terms of characters...

Bobby = Not stupid but cuz he's been smothered by his mother all his life, he's never had to use his own brain for thinking. He's VERY slow and usually comes to the wrong conclusions. He's a good guy, though, however slow he is.

Kenix = Greedy, but has a good heart. Her mother is Mary Hon and her brother is Benny, though no one knows they're siblings (there's some big secret behind it, apparently).

Benny = Very in-your-face, but like his sister, has a good heart. Not much on him so far...

I totally recommend this series for anyone who's looking for a light, family-oriented drama. Bobby's funny as usual. Kenix is delightfully funny as well. Benny's a cutie and the supporting cast is great. I'm sure when Tavia appears, it'll get that much better.

been watching in HK...
Tavia just appeared today...eh..didn't really like her costume...she has these little plaits on the side of her face that is kinda annoying...:P lolz!
Don't really know about her yet...she may or may not be part of some robbing gang thing...hahahha...

Really been watching for Annie, but she doesn't get a lot of screen time...she's cute though!! hahah..into gambling and all!

hey has anyone noticed how rush they went to solve the first case (about the missing dumpling)? i dunno, but i thought the way they used was too typical...

i didn't think that they rushed the first case. the pillow case man gave bobby a lot of clues. i'm up to the second case at episode 4 and i'm dying to see what happens.

I've seen 4 episodes so far and it's pretty good. At first I thought the pillow was silly, but going in and out to get clues is actually refreshing in an Alice in Wonderland kind of way. Tavia appeared in episode 3 as a begger/thief, but her true identity was revealed at the end of episode 4. I'm looking forward to more. The premise of the second case is quite intriguing.

Aaarg hopefully I get to see the first few episodes soon!!! Getting REALLY excited. I'm excited to see Benny now after I saw him on the Super Trio show! Really enjoy the theme song too! Aaargh I'm too eager now!

i think so far it's ok .. i mean .. i'm a little bored of it only b/c there are eps where it's kind of repititive ...

i prefer it revolved more on benny chan and less on kenix ... not a fan of kenix!
