Default Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - starring the ever delectable Johnny Depp

hey thought of starting a thread on this show to find out ur comments on this show...how wld u rate it..and do u like it?
i personally enjoyed it, esp cos there was Johnny Depp hu was incredible as willy wonka...
but i didnt really like the whole part regarding willy wonka's childhood and also i din like the oomppa loompa (wats the spelling sia)...but i really liked the cinematography becos of the rich colours and my fav room has to be the nut room...cos of the cute squirrelas and also the whole lollipop effect of the room...
so overall i give it a 4.5 Stars

I enjoyed the film, very pleasant and colourful. johnny Depp was very good at being the eccentric Willy Wonka. The only thing I found disturbing is the resemblence to MJ (childhood thing, pale skin lol) but also the haircut!
Oh i liked the oompa loompa guy quite amusing.
I wouldn't want to compare the older version directly as both the films had a different look on the film, the older one focused more on charlie and musically singing whereas this one was one Willy Wonka

I haven't watch this movie.. but I reckon that it'll be pretty good if they don't run to far from the storyline.. I've read the book.. its really good!

    Cheers for Roald Dahl

He looks like a very scarey/freaky willy wonka...and another observation made is that the movie is largely purple in colour tone....I guess based on looks itself, I just do not see Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka...

i liked this movie. i thought johnny was a great willy wonka. haha. though the paleness kind of scared me. but i dindt like the oompa loompas either. they were...eh. lol. weird. hahaha. the movie was pretty funny though. loL. i like when johnny says something like " everything here is eatable. even im eatable. but that would be called cannibalism..." hahaha.

Was very disappointed with this movie, the story was so much less enjoyable as compared to the novel and those little people, they looked freaky! I thot Johnny Depp did not impress me much as Willy Wonka. My favourite role of his would still be Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Just watched this movie a few days ago..
Its pretty nice.. but they changed the story a little.. but Mike Teavee isn't as agressive.. he's supposed to have guns all over his body.. but that spoiled girl was ok..

    < some spoilers>

Well.. I thought Johnny was really creepy here.... but he's still funny..
I loved the scene about cannibalism and when Veruca(spoiled girl)'s father gave him his name card.. he threw it away without even looking at it! JD really cracked me up a few times here..

Granma Josephine was kinda humourous too ..

I rated 4 stars even tho i havent seen the movie yet, but its got johnny depp in it and my mates say it was pretty good. I think the first one was heaps good with Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka, i dont think they needed a new one. But hopefully it wil be as good as the first,. Hope Johny wil be as good as Gene Wilder.

and really i don't want to.
so i can't really say anything about it.

but to all readers of the forum:
if anyone has ever watched the original version.
    featuring gene wilder.
    IT'S AWESOME.
haha, he had curly hair and it was more cheesy.
    i dont know.

i remembered watching willy wonka (gene wilder) and really enjoyed it when i was very young.
I've just watched the current one and I find the show a little to weird for me to digest (especially umpa lumpa..they're like your nightmare came true)
overall i found that the storyline is below average but the atmosphere and background setup excellent ....well i'm a fan of tim burton

If you are a fan of Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, or even Roald Dahl, you should watch this. Or if you like eccentricity, or just plain creativity without the limitations of logic, this is a must-see movie.

Overall, I think Tim Burton did a great job for this movie. I like how he had given Willy Wonka a background and how cheeky and sinister the whole movie was. I gave this movie a 4.5/5.

So, this is a movie about a very pale, very eccentric milionairre, who invites some innocent little children to come to his large mansion?

Is there some hidden message here?

But dont worry, I'm sure Willy will be found not guilty by the jury.
I wish people would back their assertions about facts with facts.

Just because something is your opinion, doesnt necessarily make it true.
