Wu Xia Recommendations?

Hiii =) I'm a bit bored waiting for ROCH 05 to come out so would anybody recommend any Wu Xia (ancient) series? Peferably with good looking guys and girls. (because i dont like old ones =D) Hmm.. and perferably without so much special effects. With romance and fighting and plot.

36 Chambers of Southern Shaolin. Good mix of real kung fu fighting and a very romantic love story.

Whoa, did you speed-watch or something? Her name is Mei Chao Feng

Maybe if you're bored you should re-watch LOCH 2003... I've watched it several times. Still good. Next I'm gonna re-watch TLBB several times. Then XAJH. Reckon ROCH will be out by the time I'm done? =x

It was kind of interesting on the last disc of the series that showed the director looking at a video of Yang Liping dancing and deciding to try her for the Mei Chao Feng part. He used her dancing ability as part of the character and made a fabulous character out of her.

haha, yeah i speed watch alot =P, I can't re-watch becuase i didn't buy lOCh, i rented it.

woo DGSD is worth rewatching....i luv the part where xiao yuan shan flew in a circle and split an assassin apart (episode 1)....that has got to be the best fighting scene in my opinion

To choose between Secret of the Linked Cities (about 30 episodes) and Xiao Au Jiang Hu (about 40 episodes) , I would choose Xiao Au Jian Hu.

My top 3 recent wuxia series would be:
Legend of Condor Heroes (China) - great production values
Xiao Au Jiang Hu (China) - excellent fighting
Secret of Linked Cities (China) - Slow start but gets exciting after that

Not bad:
DGSD (China) - Could have been a great show but fumbled unnecessarily
Legend of Book & Sword - Can be slow at times

I generally look for China wuxia. Taiwan wuxia tends to rely on Superstars but are generally draggy and weepy. And avoid Yang Pei Pei productions!
