I was away for a bit but got home just in time for MingYun which airs in less than 12 hours! ^_^ I especially love the modern-day pics of YM/FSF in Gong 2.

Yang Mi just reposted a MingYun weibo post, sounding super happy/excited about it airing.

So cute, wonder if she and FSF are going to be watching this one every day again just like they did during Gong...

She certainly seems to be in high spirits lately, like sunnysnow mentioned she looks so genuinely happy in the Gong 2 filming pics! ^_^

Really don't like FSF's hairstyle in Gong 2 though, it's kinda weird-looking unfortunately...I much prefer his look in his recent photoshoot.

I must have nerves of steel because despite all the Fengmi fangirling everywhere, I still am not a fan, in fact I still kinda dislike it haha. Nothing against FSF, I'm sure he's a great guy.... but they're not like HongShi which I would ship a hundred percent. I just....dislike FengMi. And it's too in my face haha. I've always hated YZ's Gong styling. It's got nothing on BBJX. And as beautiful as Yang Mi is, she still doesn't look good in that hair.

I agree, the hairstyle is not good but YM in Qing styling will probably only show up for like 10 minutes in Gong 2, lol.

Don't worry, FengMi have finished filming Gong 2 so there won't be an overload of their pics together anymore for awhile! (My previous post is probably the last of the Gong 2 FengMi stuff actually. I'll keep any future squeeing over MingYun in that thread.

) Yang Mi is starting work on her movies in October, but I dunno how much news we will get of them because movies keep everything top-secret (vs. TV dramas which seem to release tons of filming pics all the time). Fortunately, after MingYun, MRTX will air soon and then Beijing Love Story probably early next year, so at least there should be enough Yang Mi on the small screen to keep us occupied while we wait for her movies to come out... ^_^

P.S. if you dislike FengMi you can definitely believe that they are just good friends with nothing more going on. That's the beauty of it--since they are totally denying things anyway you can just pick whatever side you want! e.g. I'm convinced the rumours are true because it's funner that way for me, but like I mentioned before a lot of people in the Baidu forums (outside the FengMi one of course) don't believe it. Actually another one of YM's interviews was just released today and she again restated she hasn't met that "special someone" yet.

In fact, if you don't over-scrutinize everything (like their weibo, interviews, etc) from a lot of the pics, really you can just conclude they are good work buddies and friends (after all, most of the "cute" stuff are of them during filming or promoting their projects together). Sorry, I do admit I tend to put a "FengMi"-spin on a lot of the things I see (I just can't help it!

I liked Gong most for Fengmi, Tong li Ya & Mao Zi Jun and the costumes. I liked the costumes in Gong. It's an unique spin on qing style costumes. I like how he took his on creative licenses on the costumes. It's gorgeous and new and inventive. I like it when costumes aren't too traditional and have their own unique look. I also love how lively and happy she looks filming the sequel. Glad she's having so much fun.
Even though I love Fengmi, I'm skipping their upcoming series. It's too "idol melodrama" for my taste. I don't mind tragedy as long as it's realistic. Hate it when some movies have the character randomly have cancer to make the audience cry. I'm going to wait for their Han dynasty series instead.

And while we are on the topic of period drama OTPs that drive me wild, have a MV or two of Qing Chuan/Eight from Jade Palace Lock Heart, i.e. the other 'woman time-travels to Qing and gets involved with Kang Xi's sons' drama. BBJX is indubitably the better drama, not to mention more realistic, but I confess to loving JPLH more because it has a more traditional narrative (think shoujo with some romance novel stuff) and because Eight and Qing Chuan seem set to win "Mousie's favorite OTP of the year' award. I haven't been this obsessed with a couple for a long time. The fact that Yang Mi and Feng Shao Feng have ridiculously insane chemistry helps. Yes, I am one of the crazy FengMi shippers - I have no opinion on rl hookups or anything but I believe they should be ordered to star together in perpetuity. When is Legend of Tiger Amulet coming out again?

Before I get on to anything else, I want to address the big elephant in the room - Jade Palace Lock Heart. For those who have watched Jade Palace Lock Heart, the set-up is startlingly familiar (though here her OTP is Four). A lot of people I've seen who love BBJX are people who really disliked JPLH. I am here to assure my fellow JPLH lovers that it is possible to love both. Because I do. The thing is, despite the similar plot, the story itself is very different. JPLH made me think of a cracky, shippy, giddy shoujo manga. BBJX is an introspective period piece. Each has a place in my heart. Both have strong heroines, gorgeous men (though as a Feng Shao Feng fangirl, even all the princes in BBJX put together do not trump him for me :P). If you want a more traditional love story, JPLH is the better bet (BBJX gets very messy and appropriately period-complicated). But BBJX is so very smart and subtle and nuanced and gorgeous. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I think I will end up preferring Jade Palace over BBJX though BBJX is a better drama just because I found the former less depressing and with a more traditional narrative arc/romance. BBJX is making me so depressed. BBJX is objectively better, but I prefer Jade Palace. It's such a darling.
The thing with Ruoxi is that I find her extremely realistic, perhaps the most realistic female lead I have seen in a good while, but i an not sure I find her likable - she is much too cautious and self-interested. To do the inevitable JPLH comparison, I adore Qing Chuan to bits, much more than I do Ruoxi - she will do what she thinks is right and sticks to those she loves, even if it will cost her head and will do it without thinking twice (remember the bit near the end when she told Four she will be his mistress if he spares Eight's life? And then treated him like dirt telling him his bargain only bought him her body? I cannot see Ruoxi doing something like that ever, whoever was involved). She is not wrong or bad or anything - QC's way will get one quickly and gruesomely executed if it was a more realistic take on the Qing. But, a you out it, it's not what I am conditioned to expect from my heroines. It is good writing and acting but it makes it hard to really root for one person over other.

How much do I love Qing Chuan's confrontation with Eight's Mother. I don't particularly blame the mother because she's under the impression QC is playing Eight and Four and is a super-schemer (but this being the palace, can't come out and say it openly and thus tries to appeal to who she thinks QC is - evil schemer). But I love love LOVE Qing Chuan's response. She's probably one of the most logical heroines out there. It took her forever to decide she liked Eight (and she analyzed it to death and thought it through from every angle, though ultimately emotions like jealousy and missing him were what pushed her over the edge into realizing she loved him) but now that she did, not only is she going to stick by him whatever comes, she is rational and can back up her emotional attachment with some awesome arguments which show why it's good. It's not just her heart but her mind that thinks this relationship is the best. Rationalizing everything has its advantages

She's never done a grand declaration because it's not her style, but at this point, does she really need it?

Is it just me or are FSF's hands a lot bigger than YM's? Maybe it's just the angle? I noticed it with one of the MingYun stills too! XD But, it's weird because in their "1-year-filming-anniversary" pic (http://ww3.sinaimg.cn/large/473df571jw1dj40ag5n4jj.jpg), their hands looked about the same size...(sorry, weird thing to notice I know! XD)

(Wish they didn't do the heavy makeup though, looks so out of place in a sports-themed photo. >_< I much preferred the ones of her looking natural in the Beijing 2008 Olympics badminton set--YM looked really fresh, cute, and actually sport-sy there!)

Yes, both are just doing cameo roles. YM was filming for 2 or 3 days, FSF for only 1 or 2. They both did it just out of gratitude/to repay the favour for Yu Zheng.
