Ahh just went back a few pages and realized that I'm the last one to know about this. Hehe. Is it generally good or bad for a actor/actress to reveal that they are dating? I guess for an actor it's not as bad but if an actress dates a lot of guys over the course of her career, it might not be good for her reputation.

I find that Chinese celebs don't generally reveal the dating/courting part of their relationship until they are engaged/near marriage, e.g. Deng Chao & Sun Li, Chen Jianbin & Shui Ling, Xie Na & Zhang Jie. I guess Hawick & YM have reached a very stable point in their relationship. Or it could be Yang Mi is generally well known to be upfront and outspoken about her feelings.

i hope she focuses on acting instead of distracting herself with a field that she really isn't suited for. i guess popularity is all that matters since her album topped a few charts despite her weak voice. btw, what kind of charts are these. are they even legitimate or considered credible in the entertainment industry?

Yeah definitely not good for her career (lost her lots of fans) or her relationship (much harder to maintain such a public relationship than a hidden one)...but oh well, it's a choice she had to make. I guess it is more that YM is known to be outspoken and honest? e.g. she will talk openly about things like "qian gui zhe" whereas other celebs avoid the topic. She did say that if the media catches her she won't deny things and will just admit it so I guess she is living up to her promise...and like JoleCole said she is probably fed up with all the romantic relationship rumours about her (it hasn't stopped since 2009 with HG and really got way out of hand in the past year, giving some people the impression she dates around a lot even though Hawick is her first confirmed boyfriend). I don't think any other actresses have had it this bad, so it's a good way to stop the rumours. So, I guess in one aspect this is actually positive for her reputation?

On the other hand, one reason a lot of fans are mad at her is, they think she was leading them on/lying to them with the FengMi stuff which goes against her "honest" image. I myself am still on the fence whether or not all that cute stuff we saw was 100% genuine feelings (friendship or otherwise), or if some of it was played up for the media...of course I'd rather believe the former!

Yes, I agree...it's not common for Chinese actresses to be so open and at ease around the media...but of course this gets her into trouble at times too! But even then she takes it in stride and is pretty blasé about it. She seems pretty much born to be an actress/celebrity (not just her personality/attitude but her acting talent/looks as well), but then again she got her start in the industry quite early on so I guess she's gotten accustomed to it.

Xiaolong, somehow I feel like the start of 2012 is like a nightmare for many couple shippers. Now I'm hearing that both Yuan Hong and Liu Shishi already have their own boyfriend/girlfriend. Liu Shishi's rumored boyfriend (张煜枫) is not directly related to showbiz, but still related. While i just read some random speculation about Yuan Hong dating Xie Wenxuan 谢闻轩. I think Lin Gengxin's girlfriend is the one who first mentioned Yuan Hong dating on weibo. I have no idea who she is or how on earth people even pinpointed Xie Wenxuan 谢闻轩 to be the gf. I keep on hearing these gossips from these "supposedly showbiz insiders." While I don't really believe in these rumors, but I feel after FengMi, nothing we see onscreen is necessarily real without an official acknowledgement.

Oh, I've been stalking HongShi news for some time together with my Livejournal friend Mookiehyun, heheh! Actually Xie Wenxuan (YH's co-star in Miracle Dr Tao) is pretty old news. The rumours started when he snapped pics with her during her birthday back in 2010 and people observed that his Wuhan besties added her on weibo. But apparently they are family friends - their folks are neighbours in Wuhan. The rumours died out when a fan asked one of his besties whether Xie is his gf and his bestie said nonsense. Now the media is real convinced that YH & Elanne Kwong are an item, haha!

For LSS and 张煜枫 (Zhang Yu Feng), I remember the news came out last Sept or so about LSS dating a wealthy Han Chinese. I read that he's an aspiring singer/dancer and also an heir to some fortune (he's a peer of Barbie Hsu's hubby, Wang Xiao Fei). But he's not only linked to LSS, but also to Fan Bing Bing. And he's also suppose to be Yang Mi's ex-bf (whatever!). Isn't this Zhang Yu Feng LSS' schoolmate from Beijing Dance Academy who just happens to have rich parents? seriously, people who complain about ym being plastic need to take a look at her childhood pictures. same nose and eyes!

i had a dream that there were leaked footages of ym and hg's new series. it was set in the ming dynasty. the leakaged clipc showed hg giving ym a piggy back ride as they crossed a lake with a waterfall. and it looked like ym at some point disguised herself as a man in the series too. so sad when i woke up and realized it was but a dream.

I can't believe how many famous stars YM collaborated with when she was younger! Stephen Chow, Jackie Chan, Jay Chou, and Li Ya Peng is in one of those pictures of her as a little girl (I think she was in a movie with him).

Anyways, I'll upload the video that the pics are from tomorrow. It's actually a really great feature on her, has tons of unreleased stuff! Including from her school days in Beijing Film Academy (they interviewed her profs and showed never-before-seen footage of Yang Mi at her entrance examinations).

In the meantime I made a gif of the FengMi bits--it's from Sina weibo night backstage, just as they are making their entrance. (I can't help it, I still squee at FengMi's real-life chemistry! Quite honestly I haven't seen anything else like it...I know WeiMi were probably holding back during their singing performance but I couldn't get a "dating vibe" from them at all--they definitely hide it well because I wouldn't have suspected a thing if they hadn't announced it. I just can't help compare with the FengMi singing duets...now I wonder how much of those were just acting?? )

(Actually you know what, I'll admit it...to be honest, I myself have had moments of wondering if she had plastic surgery, so I kinda can't blame some people. Not her nose or eyes, but her jaw where it meets her ear--before there was definitely a sharper angle there and now it is all smooth down to her chin. However, YM has been working nonstop so I can't figure out how she would have time for any surgery on her face when she's been constantly filming...since the change took place after MRXJ in 2010, so she was already very busy by then.)

i thought the round jaw was the result of her gaining weight because she sort of has a double chin going on for her now. i prefer her with an angular jaw since i find sharp features more gorgeous.

I'm probably one of the few that has never really doubted what YM says about her looks. One, considering how gorgeous she used to be, I don't believe that she would purposely make herself "uglier". Not saying she's ugly now, but her looks definitely took a huge downturn between CP3 and now. Also, YM just doesn't seem to be the type to change her looks like that. Personality wise, I can't see her going through with it. Besides, the fact that her parents and even GRANDPARENTS have vehemently denied the PS rumors so many times makes it all the more difficult for me to doubt her. No faker could be that persistent.I have to say, I miss YM's old looks so much. She was truly beautiful. Oddly, in 2011, the past year, where she shot to fame, her beauty really deteriorated in my eyes. Even in JCSS which wasn't too long ago, she still retains some elements of her jawline and other features. But in the past year, I think she definitely did something with her teeth, as her smile now is odd, and I think that's what affected her jaw. Biggest pity in my point of view. I absolutely agree with you. I really miss YM's pre-CP3 looks. I like her more squarish jawline than the current elongated face shape. Her crazy workload and countless sleepless nights took a heavy toll on her beauty. Once a woman reaches 25, her youth and looks start to go downhill.... YM is looking much older than before.
