I dont see how Eva looks good. Even her costar Sun Fei Fei looks better than her. Maybe I'm not seeing something...

Damn, I wanted to enjoy all of ZWJ and Jin Yong's productions too. *sigh*

I'm not impressed with the cast either, but I''ll keep an open mind.

I read that Zhang Ji Zhong's first choice for the main role in Bi Xue Jian was actually Nie Yuan, but he was kind of "stolen" by Wang Ping to play the lead in a new Xue Shan Fei Hu adaptation.

Sun Fei Fei is playing a princess again, but she's good in those types of roles. Out of the cast members, I like her, Wu Jun, and Ma Su. I'm not too familiar with the lead guy Bobby Dou. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I'll do the same. In the series 'World Finest', I saw her for the very first time. She looked okay to me. I was happy to see Gao Yuan Yuan. None of the other female cast was even close GYY. Glad she was in it.

I know this male lead and I think he will do fine. he's taiwanese and in a few idol dramas before. I am not too familiar with Bi Xue Jian though. If anyone can provide a little background on yuan Cheng zhi will be great. I am just surprised that the casting for this serial is so quiet, esp when compared with ROCH. Also, I prefer to see a remake of Lu Ding Ji first or even Yi Tian Tu Long Ji cause they are much more popular novels as compared to Bi Xue Jian. All the male and female leads in Zhang Ji Zhong's Jin Yong remakes will prob shoot to fame.

Bi Xue Jian was one of JY's not-so-famous novels. I wonder why ZJZ decided to start it before DMD. Perhaps to correspond with the historical timeline? But then, he should've done ROCH before TLBB. Because he was frightened by the public's reaction to a famous novel such as ROCH, so he wants to be subtle with this new series?

I totally loved TVB 80's version of this though. Felix Wong was great as always. Michael Miu's role was very limited, plus I didn't like his beard. It was Chong Jing Yee that shined.

Anybody interested at listening to the themesong?

I remember watching the 84 version with my parents...but forgot the storyline. I like the 84 version cast better then this new one.

=) i think the female lead is okay pretty =) rather the male lead with this fake hair (the third picture on the first post) looks a bit too old. >.<" is that how he's gonna look? and are they starting this series already? then what about ROCH? =(

my reaons: could be the unfamiliar cast, could be the uninteresting storyline (this is one of JY's not-so-famous novels), OR it could be just the fact that everything's still new. I remembered when ROCH use to be criticized (it still is) so bad in the beginning when cast decisions were finally made. there were lots of commotions, but not excitement.

I agree with these reasons. For me especially, I'm not familiar with the storyline and not very interested in the two leads.

yeh, there's not as much hype over this drama. like u guys said, Bi Xue Jian is one of JY's shorter, less well received novels while ROCH is one of his most popular, so thats understandable. plus there was no PK of male and female leads this time(at least i didnt read about any), the media sort of caught wind of the casting decisions after they'd already been made. the male lead is this new actor from TW, relatively unknown in the mainland, and female lead is huang sheng yi, who's still kind of a newcomer herself. all the supporting characters like sort of unknowns too, right?
Bi Xue Jian still is getting alot of publicity compared to your usual period drama(im sure alot of JY fans are unhappy with the casting, as usual), just not as much commotion as LOCH, ROCH etc because this is a smaller production.

Sun Fei Fei...is she half korean/chinese? She also star in a couple korean series. They should make her the lead actress. She looks 100 times better than Eva.

Could she speak Korean or did they dubbed her voice for the Korean series?
