Episode 20 - Dai Ha's real identity is revealed (Grand Finale)

Ha is pleased to see that Leung has made him supper and Leung suggests that they drink Chinese Lui Yee Hung wine together. Leung helps a drunken Ha to his bed and suddenly says she wants to spend the night with him, Ha cannot help himself. The next day, Chu takes Leung to the railway station and urges her not to withdraw without even giving a fight, Lai suddenly appears and drags Leung away. Lai carries out a plan to make Leung reveal Ha’s real identity and is pleased with the result. Lai produces many pieces of evidence to Hong and the others to prove that Ha is actually Emperor Yongzheng and when they all hear this they are stunned.

Ha and Leung are chased by journalists who ask them about their real identities, Leung waves a stick around to scare them all away, whilst Ngoi takes the chance to take Ha away. Ngoi is unhappy that he has hidden his real identity from her, Ha holds her and tells her his feelings towards her have been genuine and true. Ha and the others hide in Kenneth’s house to discuss what to do, Hong announces his honour to have worked with the real Yongzheng emperor. Ha predicts that Lai will be reporting them to a number of research faculties so that he and Leung will become subjects of scientific experimentation, he hopes that Hong and the others will help him to carry out his plan against this.

Leung makes supper for Ha and Ngoi then Ha and Leung have a good chat about their past in the Qing Dynasty, Ngoi feels very left out. Ngoi tries to cram information about life in the Qing Palace and decorates Ha’s room in the style of the Royal Library, Ha is very touched and he hugs her, Leung sees this and withdraws. Lai is brimming with confidence as he waits for Hong to sign over all his shares, but Ha and the others arrive with a list of evidence to disprove the story about Yongzheng, but Lai has a contingency plan and as they all worry about what will happen next, Leung jumps on the table and calls out that Ha is Yongzheng and she wants to kill the rogue emperor, then she chases after Lai, beating him up, the journalists feel that they are being taken for a ride and angrily leave.

Leung is taken to an institution and she goes reciting poetry, Ngoi and Ha are very worried about her. Lai feels aggrieved by this and he is inspired by Fong’s mention of verifying relationships through mixing blood. What other plans does Lai have to bring down Ha? What will become of the triangular affair between Ha, Leung and Ngoi?

Episode 20 continued - the ending!

Ha and Ngoi go the the mental institution to visit Leung, but she carries on the act pretending that she is crazy so that everyone continues to believe that Lai is talking nonsense. Ha and Ngoi can feel Leung's pain and feel quite helpless.

Eager to cause more trouble and threaten Ha again, Lai calls him and Ngoi out to an unmarked grave in Shenzhen and points out to them that this is the grave of the real Lee Dai Ha and he will unearth the body for DNA testing to prove that Ha is not who he claims to be. Ngoi urges him to give up, but he refuses and goes mad trying to attack Ha with a shovel. Lai trips and hits his head on one of the stones. In the hospital his family gather round, but when Lai wakes up, he claims to be Yongzheng and says that everyone is out to get him and that Shum Yat Lai is an evil man. His mother is devastated and he is committed for treatment and continues to believe he is the emperor - making the other patients his subjects.

Ha asks Ngoi to leave Hong Kong and start a new life with him and Leung away from this place. However, she declines because she cannot let go of her family and her life in Hong Kong. She also realises that Ha and Leung share something which she can never understands, so she lets go of the relationship. Ha and Ngoi smuggle Leung out of the hospital and they decide to leave Hong Kong, with the help of Hong. They say their goodbyes at the harbour.

The show ends with Ngoi's letter to Ha, reporting the progress of Lai's recovery, King's promotion and the success of Chu and Fei's restaurant. Ha and Leung read the letter from "Earth Village" surrounded by a group of aborigine people and enjoying their life in the third world.
