Humple: about Xiao Feng's peak, that passage about him surprising himself was discovered after I started this topic. Technically, he did improve during the novel. However, the improvement was probably not that great, i.e. less than 10%, not a significant improvement. So, I should reword my statement to say: "Xiao Feng - the only protagonist to have reached 90% of his all-time peak at the introduction of his character."

XF- the only hero that didn't acquire his martial arts from a cave or increase his power by eating anything weird like animal parts.

How about Hu Fei, Yue Maiden Ah Qing, Wei Xiaobao, and the main character from Blade-Dance of the Lovers?

yes, he did drink the blood of a medicative snake but it didn't increase his i.energy a little bit, only that he could be immune from snake poison after then, and that sundry medical property also vanished soon after Guo Jing gave Zhou Botong a big drink with his own blood.

I think Xu Zhu was referred to as Xuzhu Zi quite often in the latter parts of the novel.

The Qiao/Xiao connection is actually two completely different surnames. That isn't the case with any other other character that I know of in the JY-verse.

^ Well, there is Wanyan Kang and Yang Kang. His case is the same as Xiao Feng. One is is adopted surname, one is his real surname.

All of the characters that survived should have conceivably improved their martial arts after the story ends.

Yang Guo- The only hero who keeps having a zillion misunderstandings and separations between him and his love. The character we love and hate..
