Episode 1 - Jason and Yama meet again on the ship

Yama has the same dream every night about her marriage to a man in Los Angeles and then a fortune teller reading her tarot cards and explaining that she will have three years bad luck before things get better. The next day at work, Yama finds that she has won a lucky draw where the big prize is a holiday on the 10,000 Tonne Goddess cruise liner. Yama doesn’t want to go, but is convinced by Pauline that it would be a good laugh. Jason, Din and Keung are also preparing for a trip on this same cruise liner where San works as the Cruise Director and Din works as a purser. Whilst checking in their passengers, Din and Jason meet King Sir who is smoking in a no-smoking area. Din makes a scene, but Jason steps in to sort things out.

Yama and Pauline look around the boat, but Pauline keeps mentioning about Yama’s failed marriage of three years ago. When they find Yama’s speared photo of her groom in their luggage, she is convinced that this trip is jinxed. Yama and King’s bags are mixed up and whilst returning each others bags, Yama meets King and Pauline tries to seduce Jason, who does his best to get away. King invites Yama to dinner whilst Jason recognises the scarf in Yama’s luggage. Jason just misses Yama in the lift lobby, but he knows she in on board and discusses what to do with Din and Keung, pointing out he has forgotten everything in the past.

Flashback to three years ago when Jason was working on a boat, where he meets with Yama with whom he has a whirlwind affair and marries. Later he finds out that she has simply used him as a replacement husband when she was jilted at the alter by her real fiancé so that she would not disappoint her parents. Jason is distraught when he finds out.

Pauline agrees on behalf of Yama to King’s dinner date. Meanwhile, Pauline is quite infatuated with Jason. Jason bumps into King who is waiting for Yama and when he notices her coming, he runs away. King wears Yama’s scarf which Pauline has given to him and Jason watches over them at their meal dressed as the ship’s mascot and preventing them from getting close. Yama is then chosen to dance with the mascot and when they fall over, Jason’s costume falls off and she recognises him. The two cannot stop arguing with each other about their respective experiences, but reach an agreement to keep quiet about their pasts. Keung and Din get Pauline drunk to find out a little more about Yama. When Jason and Keung take Pauline back to her cabin, they get their clothes caught in her zip and are caught by Yama who accuses them of being perverts. Then Yama’s dress catches in the scuffle and falls apart, getting Din and Jason in trouble with the captain. The captain explains that there is an inspection from the LA head office and warns them to be careful. Din is worried that she might lose her job and Jason and Keung try to help and find out who the inspector is. Din meets with Yama and Pauline who claim to be the inspector from LA head office whilst the real inspector, King Sir, meets the captain and says that he plans to take him to the Hong Kong office. Yama takes advantage of the misunderstanding and makes a fool of Jason to her and Pauline’s amusement as Din and Keung look on in disbelief. They run into King on the deck and during their argument, they break King’s father’s ancestral plaque and find out his real identity. Yama is horrified.

Episode 2 - Jason agrees to work with Yama in Hong Kong

Yama and Pauline look on as King pays his respects to his father and are worried about their jobs in Hong Kong office, so they go and apologise to King. He returns the scarf to her and tells her to be careful. Jason and the others watch and laugh. On shore trip to LA, Yama is worried about her bad luck returning. She goes back to the Tarot card reader who tells her that her luck has changed for the better, but then Yama finds out that the fortune teller has been paid by Pauline to sweet talk Yama. They meet up with Cindy who is out on a business trip and tells Yama that she has been called up by King to go to HQ for a meeting. At LA HQ, Yama meets again with Jason who has also been called in by King. King explains that he has had good reports about them both and he wants them to work together on a new promotional project for their latest cruise liner. They both refuse but King forces Yama to go and convince Jason to do this job, by threatening to fire her. Jason decides to take advantage of the situation and have some fun. Keung reminds Jason and Ding that this is a special day, but their car breaks down and he is left waiting for the tow truck. When the tow truck arrives, it is Ding and Jason wearing US president masks with a birthday cake for him – he is delighted. Whilst they take a breather, Yama and Pauline arrive. Pauline drags Keung and Ding away and leaves Yama and Jason to negotiate their terms. Jason gets his revenge on Yama by making her face her fear of heights and go on the big wheel.

Ding meets her friend Wendy in the bar with Pauline and Keung and she decides to play a trick on Pauline by telling Wendy to try and molest Pauline. She is horrified and runs away. Yama comes off the roller coaster and is feeling ill, but Jason still refuses to work with her. Jason and the others celebrate their win, but as they walk along the waterfront they see a picture of Jason and Yama drawn by a roadside artist three years ago and he is moved. Back in Hong Kong, Yama is chopping up photos of Jason when her parents call and she pretends to them that she is still a couple with Jason. She explains to Pauline that she doesn’t want them to worry so she daren’t tell them about her divorce. Yama goes to the Retirement Home to meet her old friends and asks about Uncle Kwong. It turns out that Kwong has gone to the investment company to check on his shares where he is kicked out by his old apprentice Chai. Yama takes him back to the home and gives him a computer manual, he is scolded by the nurse but he shows a flippant attitude. Yama asks him about his son’s whereabouts, but he doesn’t seem to care about his “worthless son”.

Jason and the others arrive back at home and they compare how many girls’ phone numbers they have gathered on their night out. Jason opens his emails and finds one from Yama telling him about his father (Kwong’s) accident. He goes and sees Kwong who takes him to a Member’s only yacht club where he used to be the President and is refused entry by Chai. Jason is recognised by one of the members and he offers to take him in, but Kwong leaves in disgust, saying that Jason is too false. Kwong then tries to climb in, but Jason tells him that the gate hasn’t been locked. When they get in, Kwong reminisces about his old yacht and when Jason asks him to move back in, but he refuses, saying that he’d rather live in the home. Jason is upset by this and feels helpless towards his bankrupt father, changing his mind about the consultant job with Yama and try to create a better life for his father. Din and Keung offer their support.

On his first day at work, Jason decides to play a trick on Yama by not telling her that he has agreed to the job and pretending to be King, instructing her to make coffee and tidy her room. She finds out about the prank and lays down the law to Jason but he insults her back. During the planning meeting, Jason suggests that they use “Love Boat” as a selling point and King tells them to have a brainstorm about a romantic encounter. During this discussion, Yama recounts her memories of Jason in bed with another woman on their wedding night and slaps him in the face.

Episode 3 - The story of Jason and Yama's wedding

Everyone is intrigued as to the reason for Yama’s emotional fit and she tells the story of what happened three years ago…

Yama has arranged to meet her fiancé on the cruise liner to get married, but when the ship departs, she receives a message from her fiancé saying that he will not be boarding or marrying her. She throws away the ring and packs up her dress but she receives a call from her parents who are both very happy and have prepared a reception for her wedding. Yama is very upset, but daren’t tell her parents what happened. Then she meets with Jason who looks after her whilst she has an emotional fit and he does his best to help her take her mind off things. She meets an old friend Lucy on the boat and in an attempt not to lose face, she claims Jason to be her fiancé. He impresses her with his knowledge and charm and helps her to save face against the spiteful Lucy. She impresses him by her good nature and her down to earth attitude. Romance blossoms as Jason brings some rice porridge and medication to Yama who is nursing a cold. They enjoy some happy times in LA and they sit in on a wedding ceremony, where Jason asks if she would mind marrying a pauper who would like to be with her. She agrees and Jason produces the wedding ring which she threw away, claiming that the “J loves Y” engraved inside represents the two and so they get married on the ship.

Jason naturally falls into the replacement for Yama’s original husband and meets her parents and friends at the wedding party. On this day, Yama receives a call from her original fiancé Jackson. He comes looking for her and as he tries to get her back, she explains to him that originally she saw him as a replacement, but she now really does love Jason. It turns out that Jason has overheard some of the conversation and has disappeared. Yama goes back to the hotel to search for him and walks into the hotel room to find him in bed with another woman. She runs down the street in her wedding dress and finds herself at the Tarot Card reader shop who reads her cards and tells her that she has just started three years of bad luck. If she can pass these three years, then things will get better…

Yama’s colleagues feel sorry for her after hearing this story and together they plot to gain revenge on Jason for her. Meanwhile, Jason vows to fight against her against the advice of Din and Keung. Back at the office, everyone works with Yama against Jason and make life very difficult for him. King says that this will be great to stir up the activity of the team to gain some results and explains his plan to Jason. Jason arranges for Din to come and help out in the office as his secret weapon. She manages to impress all the staff except Yama and Pauline who do their best to victimise her. During Yama’s sales seminar, all the delegates fall asleep but the atmosphere is brought up by Jason’s introduction of a wine tasting session and offering a selection of food from the ship. Yama brushes this off as lack of professionalism, but Jason tells her that she needs to change her approach to meet that of her clients. Then he goes on to antagonise her and she accidentally slaps King in the face, but not only is he not angry, he says that he needs her kind of aggression in the team to move the sales figures up and tells her that if there aren’t results by the end of the month then the team will be disbanded.

Episode 4 - Jason proves his worth

Knowing that her job is at risk, Yama frantically tries to boost sales, Jason still does not agree with her working methods. He offers his advice to help her, but she scorns him and carries on with her own way. Jason and Din try to sell a corporate package to the yacht club, but is mocked by Chai who does his best to make things difficult for them. On their way out, Jason shows Din their old boat and she jumps on to try and vandalise it. Jason tries to stop her but is stopped by a man, they have a scuffle but Jason recognises the man as his old friend Lau Wah. Yama is annoyed when she finds her team are not working hard and tells the secret about the redundancies, to everyone’s horror. Jason catches up with Wah and they play mah jong with Din and Keung, who lose badly to Wah. Wah seems outwardly honest, but is actually quite a scheming character. Jason and the others become quite suspicious. Jason seems confident in reaching targets, but Yama ignores him and speeds ahead with her sales conference. Meanwhile, Jason and Din go to meet with Chai. At the conference, things are quiet to start with but then things pick up and guests start to arrive and everyone’s hopes get up. Jason is turned away by Chai, but Jason receives a call from Wah. The team’s chances are dashed when they find that the guests are only interested in the souvenirs. Jason rushes into Chai’s karaoke room and announces that his wife is on the way, but she arrives to find that the hostesses have been disguised as Jason’s staff and he is presenting the trip to Chai. Jason is on the brink of striking a big deal. Next day at work, King is about to sack the team for only selling twenty places when the phones start ringing and people start to book. It turns out that Jason and Din have not only sold the trip to the yacht club, Chai’s wife has also introduced the cruise to all her rich friends. King announces that he will be promoting Jason and Yama must report to him, she is not pleased.

King wants to put Jason’s picture on the front of the catalogue, but Jason quickly evades the subject. Yama wants to leave the team, but King refuses, saying that he wants them to work together. Yama finds the picture of Jason on the front of the brochure and angrily shreds it, inadvertently shredding the photograph of King and his father. King is too late to catch it and is furious, then she laughs at the idea of Jason’s picture and it makes him even angrier, telling her to disappear from his sight. Jason asks Wah to help him borrow Chai’s boat to make his father happy, but Kwong says he will not enter until he has got it back for good. Din and Keung are confused about this and Jason explains that the yacht has a special meaning between them and his childhood. Kwong is secretly looking at photos of Jason but closes the book as Yama arrives to visit him and moan about Jason (they don’t know that Kwong’s son and Yama’s ex-husband is one and the same person yet). Kwong suggests that she should try and seek some alimony from her ex-husband now that she has no job. Wah says that Chai is interested in selling the yacht and Jason expresses an interest, but is not sure he can afford it. Din and Keung aren’t willing to help with this, so Jason tells them that he will no longer be generous to them when it comes to them living in the same house and even charges them for drinking his wine. Yama goes to find a solicitor to ask about alimony, he tells her that she has already given up the right to claim any money, but then she bumps into the original lawyer who tells her that the divorce documents were all destroyed in a fire and they are still not technically divorced. Pauline tells Yama that this is the perfect opportunity to get some money from Jason.

As she leaves, Jason and the others arrive to visit Kwong who he tells Jason about how nice Yama is and how if Jason marries her then her ex-husband will no longer have to pay her alimony. Pauline goes shopping with Yama and tells her that she needs to stop thinking about work and start enjoying herself. When they go to pay, they find that Jason has already paid and he takes them out for lunch where Yama ask him what his motive is. He tells them that he is just admitting defeat, but he would like her to go back and work at Goddess and agrees to keep paying her on top of her salary. Yama agrees to this offer and Jason even offers to take her to breakfast where a chef fails to capture Yama’s attention . It turns out that Jason and co have put a lonely hearts advert for Yama and are looking for a likely husband for her. Jason says that her image is too ordinary so he plots with Din to dress her up. Using the company image as an excuse, he offers a fashion overhaul for her, so Din goes shopping with her to get dressed up. Whilst they are out, Yama receives a call from her parents and she asks Din about her parents. Din explains that she has never met her father and her mother died when she was very young. Back at home, Din takes out a photo of her father and recognises it as the same picture on a bottle of Wah’s ointment. Wah says that that is his uncle and offers to take her to his village to meet his uncle. When they enter the village, Wah is approached by a gang asking him for money and then they meet Wah’s Granny who shows very senile behaviour. She tells him that Wah’s uncle died over 30 years ago. Din goes to ask the orphanage manager who her real father is and he admits that he passed on the same picture to everyone who left the orphanage. He gives her an address which her mother left at the office and they go to Temple Street in search of Din’s father. When they get there, they find that the environment is quite rough, but Din is desperate to find her father. Din goes to the address and finds that her father has moved away over ten years ago. She is not disheartened as Jason offers to be her father and Keung offers to be her mother.

Yama shows off her new clothes to Pauline, who tells her to find a rich man at the function that night. When she arrives at the function, man after man comes to check out Yama as arranged by Jason and Din. Yama is suspicious of what is happening until she meets with Jacky, who pretends to be a cruise and travel expert and tries to touch Yama. She slaps him and leaves. Jason chases after her and they end up having another argument. The three decide that they need to get to know Yama better before trying again. When they get home, they see Wah sitting on their doorstep having been beaten up and claiming that his boss has fired him. He asks to stay at their house for the time being until he has found a job and regained his dignity to go and face his granny. Jason and the others agree. Jason goes to work and find that Yama has been spending her money very extravagantly. She also takes some presents to go and visit Kwong who encourages her to spend his money well.

He finds her unconscious on a viewing tower and carries her to a taxi where he leaves her with Wah before he tackles the attacker himself. Yama wakes to find herself in Wah's arms and she thinks he has rescued her. The others make out that this is the case and Jason nurses his injuries in silence. Keung and Pauline continue to exchange messages through the book left in the library and have fantasies of their love affair, unaware of each others' real identities. Keung arranges for Wah to take some rice porridge to Yama, but they meet her parents on the way and they make Jason take it in instead. Whilst Yama eats, she has memories of the first time Jason brought her rice porridge. Before he leaves, Jason tucks her up in bed, but she traps his arm and he can only stay with her.

Keung discusses what to give his reader for a present with Din and suggests a sweaty tissue. Din tells him to meet her. Keung meets Pauline on the deck and they have yet another argument as he tries to find out what she is hiding in her bag, which is eventually flung into the pool. Whilst drying out her book, Pauline notices a final message to her arranging to meet in the Jacuzzi. Yama wakes finally freeing Jason's arm and apologises for sleeping on it. After a call from Wah, Yama points out to Jason that she will not fall in love so easily again. Din goes to watch Yama's dad playing golf and tells him how much she wishes she had a father. She tells him what her mother's name is and he seems to recognise it, but he doesn't have a chance to ask her about this. Jason tells Wah he has some work to do and suggests he learns to sing like Kenneth Choi. Wah takes his advice and sings "You'll be my Love" on the deck to Yama, but with Zoe watching from another deck. Yama's parents think that this is a party to celebrate their third anniversary and force Jason to continue singing after Wah has run up to sing to Zoe. Then they make him eat cake, present flowers and kiss her so they agree quite awkwardly. Wah has gone to sweet-talk Zoe and almost lets her see the photo he has taken with Yama, but then he agrees to go and find her in her room later. Keung spots him and Wah makes up another story about Zoe to hide the truth from him. In the bingo hall, Keung reports to Jason and Din about Wah, whilst Din points out that she thinks Yama is still attracted to Jason. Yama notices her dad staring at Din and is a little suspicious. He invites Din to dance and asks her about her mother, she shows him her mother's watch and his expression changes.

Episode 10 - The Windy Valley

Pauline goes to the Jacuzzi that night to meet with her dream author and sees a man who has his face covered. She slips into the pool and takes the towel off the man's face to reveal King. He is puzzled and tells her to go away. Keung is late and goes to another deck where he finds Cindy in deep thought. She walks away calling him a weirdo and meets King who asks her to show him how to fold paper flowers. She releases it to the wind and tells a story about how you can find your true love by letting go of a paper flower on LA's Windy Valley. She then goes on to tell of how she once met her true love on a ship and they spent some happy times on Windy Valley, but she wants to go back and see if she can find him again. King is enthralled. Yama's mum gives the photo of Yama and Jason back to them and invites them back to their home in LA when the ship docks, Jason kind of agrees and Yama drags Din, Keung and Pauline along as well. Pauline continues to wait for her dream author in the Jacuzzi and Keung continues to wait on the deck for his reader and they both end up at the ship's doctors with their respective ailments and have another argument in the reception. Jason gets drunk and Yama and her parents take him back to their room, her mum tells him to change his clothes for him while she brings him some tea. Yama does so reluctantly and glimpses the photograph of them kissing. She kisses the photograph then comes to her senses and puts it away. Din knocks on the door and Jason opens it in his underpants. Yama walks out of the bathroom in her robe and Din gets the wrong idea.

The ship docks in Los Angeles and Pauline is still waiting for her dream author. Keung is curious as to what she is reading and in the scuffle, she drops her book into the sea, she is furious. Din shows signs of envy as Jason and Yama continue the act in front of her parents as they arrive in LA and head to the Fong's house. Jason and Yama go to HQ for a meeting. Wah slips away and meets with Zoe as they go off together. At HQ, King goes through the successes of the "Love Boat" concept and then offers the suggestion that they also promote the Windy Valley as a tourist site to their passengers. Cindy is annoyed he has used her situation as a marketing idea and leaves. Yama chases after her and tries to comfort her. Cindy is angry that she is still holding onto a lost love from twenty years ago and she vows not to go back to the Windy Valley. King discusses his plan with Jason and he tells him that he needs to be more tactful with Cindy, King takes this the wrong way but then tells him to go and research about Windy Valley. Wah takes Zoe to see the sites and wants to go gambling, but she stops him. He argues that he can't give it up and she gives in. He loses all the money and borrows money from the loan sharks, but he is sure that Jason will bail him out, then he tricks Zoe that he needs to fly back to Hong Kong to check on Granny and heads back to meet Keung and the others.

At the Fong's house, Keung starts work on his new novel and Pauline barges in and unplugs his laptop losing his work. Yama's dad talks to Din and keeps asking her about her father and she shows him a photo of her mum. He says he doesn't know her but later in his room he brings out the same photo and asks why she didn't tell him about a daughter. Jason drives out to the Windy Valley and films the sights adding his commentary. On the hillside he sees a paper flower and sees more drifting down the hill, he runs up and sees Yama letting go of hundreds of paper flowers. She says that she is doing this on behalf of Cindy, but the two can't help but feel a little embarrassed. Yama trips and Jason drops his video camera. As they drive back down the hill, Jason is concerned that Yama has suddenly disappeared from his rear view mirror and he goes back to look for her. She has broken down, so he offers to take her back to downtown. They get lost on the way back and book into a motel. Yama takes some food to Jason's room and finds him trying to fix his camera so she goes and finds a couple of toolboxes for him. Yama notices an article about the Windy Valley in the motel and speaks to a man who has done some studies on the area. Jason successfully fixes his camera and eats the spaghetti that Yama has made for him, as they share the cold food, Yama and Jason start to get to know each other again. Yama leaves to prepare her things and Jason finds the scrapbook that Yama has spent all night putting together for him all about Windy Valley. She explains that she was worried about him not fixing his camera, Jason suggests they present it together back at HQ. Yama falls asleep on the way back and Jason takes care to cover her with his coat.

Episode 11 - Wah proposes to Yama

At Goddess HQ, Jason and Yama present their findings to the bosses and Cindy comes in and offers some more marketing ideas to them. She says that she wants to take over the project because the story means so much to her, the boss agrees. After the meeting, Jason wants to go home to sleep, but Yama takes him somewhere else. Keung and Din catch up with Wah and he tells them that he has found Zoe, but makes up a story as to why he has lost all his money, saying he has lent his money to her. Yama and Jason visit all the sights in LA and Jason films them all with his DV to use with their presentation. They come to the big wheel and Jason tells Yama she doesn’t need to go up as he will film the sights for her. He leaves the DV in her bag and she rushes up to the wheel to pass it back to him but trips and lands inside the carriage as it is about to start. She screams as it moves as she is scared of heights, but Jason convinces her to open her eyes and she starts to enjoy the experience and the sights. Afterwards, Jason goes to buy her a drink and notices the picture they had drawn three years ago. The vendor notices him and gives it to him as a gift. When he returns, he sees that Wah has caught up with Yama and feels a little sour, but he is grabbed by Din and Keung who make him leave rather reluctantly, whilst Wah takes the chance to take her to dinner.

Wah and Yama go to dinner and he tells her that she is the special person he is looking for and asks her out. However, Yama is too deep in thought to hear him. He pretends to lose his wallet and cons some more money off Yama, then buys some Girl Scout certificates to continue the act before offering to go filming with her. Jason and co go on a trip down memory lane and share some of their memories, with Keung unearthing an old love letter which Din wrote when she was at school. They ask who the letter was for but she refuses to tell. Yama notices the tarot card reader shop and heads in again, Yama picks a card and pulls out the Wheel of Life again. The reader tells her that it is a sign that the man in her life has appeared and Wah points out it looks like a big wheel, where they met. Yama has other ideas though as she re-watches the footage on the DV. In the bar, she notices Jason flirting with some girls and once again feels uncomfortable. He spots her and perks up as he asks after her, but the reception is frosty so he leaves her with Wah, who steps up his advances, but Yama brushes him off.

Yama finds her father rooting through Din’s things and he asks her why there is a photo of Jason living with Din. Yama tells him her story of their divorce and he then goes on to admit that he has done wrong and that she shouldn’t be so harsh on Jason. It turns out that Din is his daughter, after an affair he had with her mother who was a waitress in the golf club. Yama agrees to keep this secret from her mother. Jason and the others return and they exchange verbal blows about their respective infidelity but have to continue the act when her mother appears. Yama’s dad goes to talk to Din and gives her a crystal train as a present, asking her for a contact number. Yama catches her writing the number on his hand and smiles knowingly at Din who is puzzled. He asks Yama to look after Din when they return to Hong Kong.

Yama receives a huge bunch of roses at the office and an invitation to lunch. Her colleagues egg her on to meet him, and when she arrives at the restaurant he starts singing again and she tells him that they are just friends. He then presents her with a ring and asks her to marry him. She refuses and tells him that they should get to know each other first. He says he will keep trying until she agrees. Pauline asks Yama why she turned him down and she says she doesn’t want to rush into another marriage just yet. Yama has bought some cakes for Din and is concerned when she shows signs of a cold. Jason excludes her from their activities and tells her to get some rest. Yama takes on the role of looking after her, but Din runs away.

Episode 12 - Yama is mistaken as a lesbian

Din’s lesbian friend Wendy arrives in Hong Kong and says that she will be staying for good. Yama arrives and Wendy thinks that she is Din’s new girlfriend. Yama asks Din whether she is clear about her sexuality and Din is annoyed at her nagging. She runs away again and meets Jason and the others, Yama follows and they get her to join in drinking. She takes them home afterwards and nags Jason about looking after Din. He asks why her family is so concerned and whether her dad fancies Din. Yama says she just feels sorry for her and spends the night on the sofa. Jason once again covers her with a blanket and watches her sleeping. Yama checks on Din in the night and she is talking in her sleep, calling for her parents. She wipes the sweat from her chest and Jason catches her and gets the wrong idea. He tells Keung what he has seen and is concerned that she is a lesbian. The next day he suggests to Din that she should try and seduce Yama to check if this is the reason she is rejecting Wah. Din asks Yama to go out and she agrees to go with her so they will test her out. Wendy arrives at the office and Din tries to fob her off. Din and Jason take Yama to the bar and introduce her to some lesbians, but Wendy is close by and is watching over them. Keung tries to chat up a girl at the bar and is spotted by Pauline who scares her off. Another argument ensues and they have a drinking competition. In their drunken stupor Keung looks in her handbag and finds his books, realising that Pauline is his avid reader. Yama and Din head off to a quiet spot and Din offers her love as a test, which Yama refuses. Just as Jason is about to step in stop this, Wendy arrives and threatens to throw Yama off the roof. Jason and Din admit they are testing her. Wendy forces Yama to admit that she loves Jason and as she is speaking, Din grabs Wendy but Yama slips and falls, but Jason grabs her just in case. In the hospital, they are accosted by a bunch of reporters and Yama is furious at Jason. He asks her why she is so concerned about Din. Yama scolds him saying that he should be more responsible and look after her more to stop her from getting herself in trouble. This hits a nerve with Jason. Keung admits he has found his avid reader. Pauline asks Yama why she has not had flowers from Wah, so she opens a drawer and shows her all her rings from him. The delivery man arrives with some flowers for Pauline and she is delirious as she prepares for her date with her dream writer. She tries to guess who it is and Jason drops some hints, making her think it is him. Pauline drags Yama along to the date and Keung drags Jason along. Pauline has another row with Keung and he leaves, ruining the date. Jason tries to talk Keung into trying again but he asks Jason to take on his author identity to keep her fantasy alive. Yama says that Jason has a perverted mind writing steamy novels and is playing with her friend’s feelings, he tell her to get her story right first. Pauline stalks him and invites him to dinner, but Jason spies Yama and Wah and drags them all back to his house for food where she continues to fight with Keung. Jason prompts her to say nice things about Dok Kei. Then they play spin the bottle and Keung and Pauline exchange a few smacks in the face. Jason has to kiss Yama and they try to get out of it, but Keung insists and they go to kiss but are stopped by Din and Pauline.

Yama goes to teach Kwong how to use a computer and she tells him how useful it is to chat by email, explaining she has communicated with his son by email on a few occasions. Jason receives her email and comments on how he should go and thank this “Volunteer Cat” one day, but is handed a lot of work by Yama. He palms it off onto Pauline and offers to drive Yama to Causeway Bay, then he realises he is taking her to see Wah. She sees a big board on Times Square with a love poem and is touched, but Wah reveals to her that he doesn’t really know who wrote it.

She has a panic attack on the cable car and Wah grabs her MD player which plays the song that Jason sung to her and with her memories of him, she calms down. Meanwhile, Jason watches from the next car with great concern. Pauline asks Yama how she got on, Yama says that Wah has failed the test because she doesn’t love him and she needs to find a way to reject him. Wah overhears this and has a scheme in mind. They meet up later and as she is about to tell him, he announces that he can’t be without her. Pauline clings to Jason and he finds her tiresome as he takes her home and makes her some ginseng tea. He emerges to find her trying to seduce him with one of Keung’s storylines. In the bar, Wah has drugged Yama’s drink and she falls asleep. Keung tells him to take her home. Pauline is very distressed that Jason has rejected her advances and he tells her that she shouldn’t mix fantasy with reality and this makes her fancy him even more. Jason returns home and asks about Yama, he calls Wah and the taxi driver who has picked up his phone tells them that he has taken her to a motel. They rush over to try and find him and get the wrong person before they find Yama, but Wah has disappeared. The three have an argument about this and they touch on Jason’s real feelings towards Yama and how much he owes her. The next day, Yama buys Jason lunch because she has gained a new respect for him after not taking advantage of Pauline. Jason feels guilty. He goes to visit his dad and is once again snubbed by Chai. Kwong scolds Jason for being useless and he leaves, but he can’t start his car. Yama has come to visit Kwong and she shows him the emails she has received and tells him to communicate more with his son. They try to chase after Jason, but he has left in a taxi just as they arrive. Kwong suggests that he could try sending him an email. In the office, Yama gets some calls from Kwong asking her how to enter Chinese characters. Jason takes one of her calls and Kwong announces that he has sent the email to his son. Jason then receives an email from his dad and he realises that Yama is the volunteer. Jason and Yama decide to keep their affairs a secret from Kwong. Jason returns home and announces that they should abandon the plan with Wah, he feels guilty about what he has done with Yama and wants to make it up with his dad. Din is very jealous and Keung notices this. She goes out and drowns her sorrows, Yama gives a crystal train carriage to Din but she offers it to Wendy. Yama tries to calm her down, but Din tells her how much she hates her and how she has lost everything to her. Jason and Keung are at a loss. Jason takes Yama home and overhears a message from her dad telling her to look after her sister, Din. He asks her why they can’t tell Din, so she explains that it is down to her mother’s high blood pressure. They agree to keep a secret and Jason offers to help them make up.

Keung is worried that Pauline will never know his true identity and Din is unhappy at Jason’s rejection. Jason arrives and takes Din home, Pauline asks Jason who Dok Kei is and Din tells her in her drunken state that it is Keung. Jason sees Yama on the way out and he leaves awkwardly. Pauline is smitten by her realisation and she discusses “real love” with Yama, Pauline asks if she still loves Jason and she nods. Din overhears this and realises that they have been wrong about her all along and she discusses with Keung what they should do. Keung says that he should give herself a chance and make Jason choose for himself. Keung goes with Jason to buy a chain and forces him to give it to Din and then have a picture painted together. He then arranges for them to go to dinner together, but then Kwong calls and tells them to go and eat at home. Keung tries to push them together and shows the picture to Kwong, but accidentally gets it wet and burns it in the stove. Din thinks that Jason and Yama should be together, but Keung forces her to tell him how she feels. Din cannot hold it any longer and tells Jason that he and Yama have misunderstood each other and that they are meant to be together, showing him the message from Jackson. Jason rushes out with the necklace to give to Yama and beg for her forgiveness. He arrives at the seminar to find Yama and he explains himself asking if they can start afresh. She will not accept his apology because she says he is too untrusting and gives him the necklace back. Jason is speechless.

Din explains to Keung that she just wants Jason to be happy so she would rather he was with the person that he loves. She gets drunk again and Keung takes her home. Whilst he is there, he sneaks into Pauline’s room and falls into her trap as he throws him onto the bed. He is worried that she will remember about his bald head, luckily she doesn’t and he relishes in the affection that she showers him with. Yama meets Kwong to go yachting and he leaves her alone in the yacht in the middle of the sea. She goes onboard and is surprised to see Jason – they find themselves having fallen into Kwong’s trap to bring them back together. Yama ignores Jason on the yacht, but then he suggests they try and find some food. They check the cupboards and find nothing apart from the photos and pictures of them both together. They make up with each other and Yama finally accepts the necklace from him as they share a loving kiss.

Pauline and Din are happy for Yama as she shows off the necklace. They go back to the float and start the promotion. Mr Dolphin arrives at the float and presents a ring to Yama. She accepts and they find that it isn’t Jason in the suit, but Wah. He happily thinks that Yama has accepted, but she gives the ring back to him. Jason arrives and they point out that Yama and Jason are back together again. Wah is a little annoyed. Wah catches up with Jason and the others and pretends to be happy for him, but he hatches a plot. Wah goes home and steals from his Gran to pay to the loan sharks, before he discusses his plan with her to pay off their gambling debts by marrying Yama and then divorcing her. This is reinforced when he finds out the girl scout ticket that he bought for her has won the lottery! Yama tells Jason that Wah has been to find her and he is worried that Wah would tell their secret about their matchmaking. Jason decides to tell her the truth about Wah. He writes it in a note and puts it in a bunch of flowers, but it is sabotaged by Wah who then arranges for her to see him receiving money from Jason. Yama mistakes this all for a trick and is furious at Jason.

The float is a great success and Yama presents her work, then she says that she wants to split her partnership with Jason otherwise she will resign. Pauline is also mad with Keung as a result and she tries to go out with another man, Keung won’t take this and follows her to the hair salon, where she laughs at his hairstyle. Keung continues to follow her and she pulls off his wig. He is very upset and when she realises her mistake she chases after him again, saying she likes his cute bald look. Yama is being followed and photographed by someone, then she finds that Wah has become a driver for their company. He explains that it is time that he found a job, but is attacked by some gang members. He is injured trying to protect Yama and Jason arrives just in time. They take him home and they find an album of photographs of Yama. Granny suggests to them that she thinks Yama is the one that Wah has fallen in love with, but it is then apparent that both she and the mob have been hired to put on an act for Yama and Jason. Wah continues the act and tells of how he has really fallen in love for Yama, who overhears this and is touched.

At work, Wah is mocked by Yama’s colleagues for being a fraud and she hears this and helps him out. Jason sees this and is uncomfortable. Yama tries to tell Wah that she isn’t interested in him, but he displays such a moving display of emotion that she is touched and agrees to be friends with him. Din sees them together and decides to join them for a lift home, getting in the way of his advances. Then he invites her back to his Granny’s village for dinner and Din tags along too and forces him to go to his “late girlfriend’s” grave, where he makes up a story about her, next to a nameless gravestone. Wah goes to Jason’s place and plays Bridge with Jason, Kwong and Keung and complains to Jason about Din. She is shocked and runs out, Yama tells Jason to chase after her.

Din wanders to the orphanage and the address that she was given and remembers the time she spent with Yama’s dad. She tries to call him, but Yama’s mum answers the phone. Jason and Yama go round looking for Din but cannot find her, they receive a call from Yama’s dad who tells them to hurry up and find Din. Din heads back to the wall picture where she finds that Jason has written “Forever Your Friend” on the wall. Her phone rings and Jason appears offering a shoulder for her to cry on, then Yama appears. Din tells her that she wants to move out because she cannot face the sudden reality of having a big sister. Yama thanks Jason for finding Din and they overcome their differences, Wah overhears them. Wah and Granny discuss tactics again and hatch another plan. A man arrives at Goddess sales office and claims to have seen Yama before at the motel with her boyfriend. Yama asks what happened and he says that Wah was the man who took him into the motel. Wah blames Jason for this and Yama is furious with him once again. She finds him and slaps him in the face. Wah pretends to apologise to him in the bar with Keung and Jason says this is just his destiny. Suddenly Wah is called to the Mah Jong centre by his Granny because she has been accused of cheating and is being held by the mob. Wah offers to repay the debt for her and they let her go. Episode 17 – Wah’s plan is discovered

Wah goes to find Jason to ask him to lend him more money for his Granny’s treatment whilst Kwong and Keung eavesdrop. They get some numbers off Wah’s phone and try to point out to Jason that Wah is a gambler and a cheat, but Jason refuses to believe them. They decide to find the truth about Wah. Kwong goes to Granny’s village to investigate and joins a Mah Jong game with her, he befriends her by saying he wants to buy a house and she invites him back to her home. Kwong blocks the toilet and Kwong roots around Wah’s things. Yama drops off some things for Din and Jason is there, they both receive calls from Kwong and Keung telling them to go to the village to see Granny in action. They go to the village and search for evidence, but all they can find are documents supporting Wah’s story. Granny realises something is up and puts on another act, which Yama falls for. Yama scolds Kwong for trying to stir up trouble whilst Wah and Granny celebrate another victory. Yama tells Wah what they have done and he plays the sympathy card on her, making her feel very guilty. Pauline suspects Yama of falling for Wah, then they realise that a lot of things seem to have happened on the night he took her to the motel. At work, Yama’s colleagues ask Wah for gambling tips and Yama is angry at Jason for making a fool of him. He continues the act of innocence and Yama asks him what happened. Wah tells the story once again that he fell for Yama and that is why he drank until his stomach bled. Yama is very touched by this. Wah feigns illness and Yama takes him to the doctors, watched by Jason and Din.

Jason still doesn’t believe his father about Wah, but Kwong assures him that Wah is not what he seems. Keung and Din also tell him about the points of suspicions. Jason is passed some info about Wing who runs the motel and is told that Wing spoke to Yama for a long time. They decide to investigate and the worker at the motel tells them about Wah’s plan with Wing. Jason and the others then approach Chai’s wife and ask her about Wah’s character. She tells them that he wanted to trick Chai out of money and that he is not to be trusted. Then they go and check on Sandy’s grave which belongs to a man and they confirm that they have misplaced their trust in Wah and fallen for all his tricks. They vow to show his real identity.

Din offers to move back to Yama’s house if she leaves Wah. Yama asks why they are all against him and refuses to believe he is a nasty person. Din tries to tell Yama what they have found out but she still wants to be sure for herself. Din designs a test… Yama and Pauline pretend to go on a business trip and Wah sees them off at the airport. There he bumps into Chai and his wife who offers him a con job, which Wah accepts. Working with Granny, Wah tries to con an associate of Chai’s at poker he wins. Yama and the others watch the entire scene through a video link and she bursts in and yells at him before leaving. Granny chases after her and in the heat of the moment, she falls down the stairs to try and ask for Yama’s forgiveness. At the hospital, Granny tries to take the blame for Wah’s actions and once again Yama is taken in. After she leaves, Granny and Wah once again celebrate another success and prepare for their next step. Jason invites Yama to Kwong’s birthday celebration, but Yama cannot stop thinking about Wah and his reasons, Pauline has her doubts but agrees to check with her at the bar and the motel, but they have already been bought out by Wah. Yama goes to look for Granny, but hears that they have left for China. Yama chases them to the bus station and sees Wah and Granny there. They put on another act for Yama’s sympathy and Yama is totally taken in by them. Meanwhile, Jason and the others wait at the restaurant for Yama, she tells them she can’t make it and Jason is shocked to hear Wah’s voice in the background.

Episode 20 - Jason wins over Yama (Grand Finale)

Jason returns home the next morning to find that Kwong and Keung have flown away and Din is finishing off the presentation for him. He apologises to her and tells her that he still wants to work with him. Din throws a tantrum but Jason finds the tape that he made with Yama in LA. Din explains that she wanted him to see the tape because knows that the one he loves is Yama and she is happy to be his partner. They flick through the tape and see the section where Yama is showing off the lottery ticket. Din remembers hearing Wah asking her about the ticket and they suspect that Wah’s motive is something to do with the ticket. With their new inspiration, they decide to head for LA. On the boat, Kwong has arrived and joins Wah on the gambling table and together with Keung and Pauline, they force Wah to make a scene. Jason arrives as well and congratulates Yama on her wedding plans. They have a chat and Jason tells her that he has fallen for Din and he wishes her the best with Wah. Wah is listening in and is puzzled. Yama’s dad gives Wah a present and he opens it to find a pre-nuptual agreement for half of their possessions in case of divorce and also tells him about Yama’s stress problems and this may require long term care in the future. Wah agrees to look after her and signs the agreement.

On the day of the wedding, Yama is very nervous as the ceremony goes ahead. Jason offers the speech at the ceremony and presents them with a film of the lottery ticket and the news that they have the winning ticket. Suddenly, Yama feels faint and they all tell Wah that he needs to do handstands or put his fist in the mouth to distract her attention. Yama feels better and they show the rest of the tape, which shows a charity leader thanking her for donating her winnings to charity. When Wah realises he has lost the money, he shows his real colours and pushes Yama away, saying that he only wants her for her money. The loan sharks come and march Wah away to teach him a lesson and they celebrate their win over him, but Yama is still devastated. Jason chases after her and tries to ask for her love again, but she says she is so mixed up that she doesn’t know what to think or who to trust any more. Jason discusses his feelings with Kwong and Pauline rushes in to tell him that Yama has left. Jason rushes to the Fong’s house in LA but there is no-one there. He wanders through the streets of LA searching for her and ends up at the Fortune Teller’s shop. He wanders in and meets the fortune teller who tells him to hand over $50. He draws out the Wheel of Fortune card and he is told that Yama has just drawn out the same card. She tells him that their destiny is like the wheel, forever turning and changing. Jason goes back to the Big Wheel on the sea front and goes for a ride, not knowing that Yama is on the other side of the wheel. He spots her getting off and chases after her, but is unsuccessful.

Yama’s mum and dad meet Din and tell her that they are looking after Yama who wants to calm down. Din asks for Yama’s address and promises not to tell Jason. Keung and Pauline leave Jason and wish him luck. As he sees them off, he notices a picture of the Windy Valley and drives up there to try his luck. He returns to the spot where he met Yama last time and finds a paper flower. Then more come floating down the hill and he calls out how much he wants to see her and how much he misses her. Yama hears him but still hides. She returns home to find Din waiting for her. Yama tells her that she does not want to give Jason another chance because this is the will of destiny for them to come and go all the time. Din tells her that she cannot let go of her love for him, that she is too analytical and should follow her instincts more . Yama says she cannot do this.

Six months later, Jason, Keung, Pauline and Kwong are on a day out and Jason brings Granny and Zoe along. Zoe points out that Granny has really gone senile and Wah is now in prison. Jason says he will help Zoe out with a job on the ship. Din arrives and talks of her father and mother, but tells them that Yama will be living in LA for the foreseeable future. Din sees through Jason’s disappointment but he just laughs it off. She makes him buy a necklace for her and then a wedding ring, indicating to Jason that he has promised to look after her for the rest of her life. Jason is stunned. Back in LA, Yama is working as a Tarot card reader and she receives an invitation card to Jason and Christine’s wedding. She says she won’t be going and her mum suggests that she is afraid, but forces her to go at the request of Din. On the wedding day, Jason makes a speech before the ceremony. He says that Din has taught him that there is no winning or losing in love and he thanks her for everything that she has done and says she will forever be his perfect partner. Then he turns to Yama and tells her that he doesn’t mind waiting for his one true love, he tells her that he believes the fairytale about the Windy Valley and that she is the one for him. He asks her to marry him again but she has another emotional fit and runs out. As everyone panics, Jason does a handstand and she gets better. They comment that only he can make her better. She admits her fears to him and she shows him the tarot card. Jason tells her that she needs to put her destiny in his hands and be with him whenever he goes out on the cruise again. She agrees and takes the ring from him. He rips up the card and kisses her to the cheers of everyone else.
