Episode 12 - Boon kills Cheung to rescue his sister

Cheung is shot by Boon?

Cheung instructs his men to throw Yan into the sea, in the heat of the moment Boon shoots Cheung, hurriedly grabs Yan and leaves. Bong and Bo arrive at the harbour and cannot find Boon, they are worried that something has happened to him, suddenly they hear the shouts and screams of Yan and are very surprised and relieved. Boon drives his car very fast to let out the anger inside him and nearly crashes. The police search the yacht and find Cheung's body and a teddy bear, Hong takes the bear to find Boon and accuses him of killing to rescue Yan, Boon says this is all just his guesses. Nam returns to Hong Kong and immediately asks Yu about what has happened to Boon, Yu tells her all and Nam is very frightened. Nam interrogates Boon about whether he was involved with Cheung's death, Boon suggests that she already has an answer in her heart and Nam is very disappointed. Hong takes Nam out for a drink to drown her sorrows, Nam says that she has split up with Boon, Hong continues to comfort her with the logic of arithmetic. Hung sir suggests that Cheung's men can testify in the case of Ding Fung Financial's money laundering schemes for Cheung, Hong thinks that if they can find uncle Fat to become a witness suspect it would be even better. Bong and his family are celebrating Yan's birthday when Hong and his team come to arrest Bong and take him to the police station. Jik points out that the police do not have sufficient evidence to produce charges and tells Bong not to worry. Boon is worried that the missing Uncle Fat still thinks that Bong caused Shek's death and that the police will find him first. Hong and Boon both think of where Fat could be, at the same time, they both head to the same place. Seeing that Hong and Yu are persuading him to become a witness, Fat says that he will not cause trouble to his brothers just because Bong was dishonourable to him. At this time, Boon and Tung arrive and seeing that Fat is with Hong, Tung makes a decision to try and kill them both with the car, Boon is horrified and stops him. Hong says that they are trying to kill them to destroy the evidence, angrily Fat says that he will bring them all down together. Tung is angry at Boon for not letting him kill Fat, Boon says that the best course of action is to find Shek.

Episode 13 - Wing Bong has terminal cancer

Shek suddenly appears alive and Fat changes his testimony there and then

Uncle Fat agrees to be a witness and Bong is charged with money laundering for Cheung. Lun returns to Hong Kong and takes Bong's case as prosecutor, he indicates there is no evidence that Boon is involved, putting Nam's heart at ease. Boon loses contact with Tung who has gone to the Philippines, Bo suspects that Tung has caused some trouble and has gone missing as a result, Sin Hang offers to go to Philippines to find Shek to help his father's case, Boon warns him to be careful. In court, Jik points out that Fat and Bong have existing differences and have been misled by the police into giving incorrect evidence against Bong, at this time, he sees Shek's arrival and he is still alive, so he changes his evidence immediately, to the shock of everyone. In the recess, Nam accuses Boon of using Shek to threaten Fat into changing his testimony and also says that she doesn't regret splitting up with him, Boon's heart feels as though it is pierced. Bong is acquitted and Hong and his team are annoyed. Bong decided to withdraw from criminal activities as soon as possible and Boon is overjoyed, he also openly admits that he has found his real uncle and real brother and that he has split up with Nam, Bong is stunned. Bong says he wants to travel around the world with Bo, Bo is excited. Bong declares to the elders that he will be ceasing Ding Fung Financial and will be retiring from the circuit, all are opposed to this but Bong insists and goes it alone. Bong suddenly feels unwell, when he finds out that he has terminal cancer of the liver, he is shocked. Bong instructs Boon to look after his brother and sister and not to enter crime, and hopes that Ding Fung Jewellers will enter the international market, Boon agrees solemnly. Bong and Yan go for a walk in the park, he is regretful about spending all his time on his business and not devoting enough time to his family, he says to Yan that he will be going on a long journey and never returning, Yan doesn't understand his meaning but is still very unhappy. Bo sees that Yan is holding Daddy Bear looking very sad and asks her to find out about that Bong has been hiding the truth from her, after more interrogation, she is totally shocked at the news. Yan begs Boon not to let Bong go, Boon comforts her saying that although Bong is far away, but can still hear her music and her words, one day the family will meet again in the faraway place and Yan feels better.

Episode 14 - Wing Bong Dies

Being sick in the night, Bong's pain is unbearable

Bo tells Nin that Bong has terminal liver cancer, Nin suggests that they go to Sheung Shui to find a cure from a Spirit healer. Early in the morning, Bo takes Bong to the spirit healer, the healer gives Bong three doses of medicine and says that it will be successful if he is sick. Bo takes care to boil up the medicine, but it is nearly knocked over by Yan, saved by Bong. In the night, Bong begins to be violently sick and is in much discomfort. Bong then suddenly faints and is taken to hospital, the doctor says that his cancer is spreading and no medicine can help him now, suggesting that he goes home. Bong sends Bo to buy Tofu dessert and then tells Boon to look after the family and Ding Fung before gently passing away, Boon is devastated. Bo and Sin Hang rush home but Bong has already died, they are also in great sorrow. Boon tells Hong of Bong's death, saying that in his eyes, Bong was a very good father, Hong says that for him to have enjoyed so many years with his father is a blessing, not like himself losing his parents and his brother when he was very young. Solicitor Woo declares Bong's will and Boon receives the majority of the shares in Ding Fung. Man is not happy that Tung only receives 2% of the shares but is comforted by Tung who says he has other plans. The elders request that after Ding Fung Financial is closed down they should receive their fair share in return, Boon indicates that Ding Fung Jewellers business has been falling so he can only give them their money slowly, unless he declares bankrupcy and no-one will receive any money at all, when they hear this the elders are very angry but Tung acts as a go-between. Tung persuades Boon not to close down Ding Fung Financial but Boon goes ahead, Tung changes his expression. Boon takes Sin Hang out on a business meeting, slightly tipsy, Sin Hang is not happy that the Taiwanese client only cares about drinking and women and doesn't talk business. Hang tells Boon that Sin Hang is not the material for business and he should be allowed to do what he really wants to do, Boon says that the business will have to be passed to Sin Hang in the future so he has to do this. Hang can only shake his head and sigh at Boon's concern only for other people and not for himself.

Episode 15 - Hong admits his love, Yu is upset

Who is Lun pointing at?

Hong and his colleagues have a wager over whether he will be successful in his pursuit of a girl, Yu thinks that the target is herself and is secretly delighted. Lun and Nam go to buy CDs and he tells her to hurry because he has arranged to meet his new date, at this time, Sum passes and Nam intentionally invites her for a coffee, annoying Lun. Yu has taken Nam's limited edition CD but it is damaged in Hong's CD player, she is in trouble. Yee sees that Sin Hang has returned to Hong Kong and she passes him an application form for a dolphin trainer, Sin Hang laughs that his life is no longer his own any more. Bo shouts at Yan for not practising her music, Sin Hang loses his temper saying that Bo doesn't care about the feelings of other people, everyone is at odds with each other. Boon and Fu convince Bo that for Sin Hang to become a trainer would be a great challenge for him and she agrees, Sin Hang is overjoyed. In order to find the limited edition CD, Hong has to take some people out and is never to be found, Yu feels flattered. Hong meets Nam and Lun in a bar and they are acting very close, he feels awkward and then he overhears Lun sweet-talking on the phone to another girl. He tells Nam that he is two-timing and Nam laughs when she hears this. Hong suddenly declares his love for Nam, but she thinks he is drunk. The next day, Hong takes a bunch of flowers to Nam's home and again declares his love for her, but for Yu who is by her side it is a thunderbolt on a sunny day. Yu is upset and runs from her home, meeting Leung and uncontrollably holds him and cries on his shoulder. After thinking it through, Yu puts in many a good word for Hong in front of Nam, trying to persuade her to accept him, Nam says she only sees him as a friend. Hong announces to his family that he has locked onto his target, Kuk and the family think he is acting up again. Hong asks what happened to the photograph of his family when he was younger, everyone is bemused at its sudden disappearance. Hong Kong citizen Yiu Lai See is soon to marry a European prince and become a princess, Kuk instructs his team to do a detailed interview and report, at this time Hing finds out that Boon is not the true son of Bong, Kuk tells him to work on finding out the puzzle behind Boon's identity.

Episode 16 - Kuk suspects that Boon is Chung Tin Yan

Boon and Fu are impressed with Szeto Kai's grasp of figures

Lai and her father Chin Ho visit Ming Shek to look for designs for her wedding tiara, they select Fu's "Butterflies and Lotus" design style and ask to see her, To knows this is difficult and Wai takes the opportunity to display some sarcasm at him. Boon reckons that if he can win the appointment to design the royal wedding tiara, this will regain Ding Fung's reputation. Boon and Fu see that Bo is overprotecting Yan and feel helpless. The two see a mentally handicapped man Szeto Kai arguing with a fishball vendor and feel that he has a knack for figures and is very brave. Later Kai applies for an odd job position and Boon admires his honest attitude, giving him the job, Kai is overjoyed. To offers Fu universal success in exchange for her to go back to Ming Shek and design the tiara, Fu states that she will not leave Ding Fung, making To very angry. Fu runs out of the restaurant and meets with Wai and another man on a date, she warns Wai that To is inside the restaurant, Wai is grateful. Wai sees that To is still thinking about Fu and suggests a divorce, To angrily refuses. Boon teaches Yan to take the bus home and be independent, Yan misses many buses, but luckily is helped out by Nam. When Nam leaves the bus, she finds out that Yan's elder brother is Boon. Ming Shek's designs do not appeal to Lai and To is frustrated. Ho arranges to meet his old girlfriend and she turns out to be Bo. The two reminisce together and talk about the times. Bo finds out that Lai has still not found a suitable tiara design and suggests that she visits Ding Fung. Boon sighs that he cannot pay his respects on the anniversary of his parents' death so he follows Hong to the place where his parent's tombstone is placed. Kuk sees Boon at the memorial of his brother and sister-in-law and is shocked, Boon hurriedly runs away. Hing finds Uncle Kan who owned the boat which Bong used to escape all those years ago, Kan points out that Bong rescued Boon and treated him like a son and also says that Boon is originally surnamed Chung, Kuk is stricken. Kuk sees Boon paying his respects to his brother and his wife, further confirming that he is Hong's elder brother Tin Yan, but Boon refutes this.

Episode 17 - Hong is ordered to be suspended pending investigation

The family photograph is lost and then found, Hong thinks this is an indication from his late father that he wants to "move house".

Kuk and Boon are reunited and Kuk laughs that in so many years he has burned offerings to Boon wrongly, he suggests to go to Yuk for a massage and take the opportunity to see Hong. Kuk secretly replaces the family photo to Hong's joy and he thinks that his is a sign from his late father and decides to move them to a "new home". Lai and Ho go to Ding Fung to look at the designs and find out that they are all Fu's works, they decide to award the design contract to Fu for the wedding tiara. When Boon and company are excited about the design contract and the media attention they are attracting, Fu suggests to hold a tiara exhibition day to build on their popularity. Hor Sir sends Hung Sir and Hong to look after the security at the exhibition. To receives Boon's invitation card and boldly announces to his colleague Hui Chi Tim that he will ruin Ding Fung's reputation. For the moving of his parents' grave, Boon gives Kuk 500,000 dollars to show his feelings. Hong uses his birthday as a reason to persuade Yu to create a chance to see Nam, Yu finds this hard to bear. Hong returns home to find that there is food laid out on the table, when he sees that Boon has used this reason to visit he is not happy. Yuk sees that Kuk is sending signals to Boon and drags him to a room to ask him the truth, Kuk has no choice but to tell her. On the day of the tiara exhibition, Yu is dressed elegantly and surprises Hong. As all are admiring the exhibits, Boon suddenly receives a call that a tiara has been stolen and rushes back to the exhibition hall. Hor Sir is asking who arranged the final plans for the transport route taken by the tiara, Hung Sir pushes all the blame onto Hong and he is stunned, Hor Sir instructs for them both to be suspended pending investigation. Sin Hang suggests sending a fake tiara to Lai to use as a decoy but Boon objects violently. To leads everyone to find the love rat and angrily slaps Wai, Wai weeps that life has been like being in prison after marrying him, and that he has been emotionally unstable since his first love left him, she asks for a divorce but To angrily announces that he will not get divorced and give her an easy life. Hang points out that a big group of reporters are heading for Ding Fung, Boon is very troubled.

Episode 18 - Lai Fu sacrifices herself to retrieve the tiara

Fu holds back the tears to make love to To

Wai inadvertantly overhears To on the phone and finds out he has stolen the tiara and makes a decision. Fu receives an anonymous email and learns that the tiara is in the hands of To, she doesn't know what to do. To meets a drunken Fu and takes her to his villa, Fu says that after the loss of the tiara, her career is ruined and is sorry for going with Boon, this makes To happy. Boon sees Fu's anonymous email and hurriedly goes to To's villa, only to see a partially undressed Fu exiting with the tiara and he is horrified, Fu is holding back her tears as she urges him to hurry back to the press conference with the tiara. To wakes to find that the tiara has disappeared from his safe and realises that he has been tricked. Sin Hang has prepared a fake tiara for Lai, but luckily Boon arrives on time. The more Boon thinks about it, the angrier he gets and he doesn't wait for the conference to end before he goes to find To and is ready for a fight. Fu admits that when To wasn't aware, she stole the tiara, Boon knows that she sacrificed herself for him. He doesn't know how to face up to Fu in the future, Kuk consoles him. To returns home to find Wai sneaking out ready to leave Hong Kong, he declares he will not let her go free. Wai shouts that he is perverted and it is no wonder that Fu left him and betrayed him, To realises that it is her who has let on the secret that he stole the tiara. The evidence shows that it is Hung Sir who is the inside man on the theft of the tiara, Hor Sir instructs Yu to arrest him. Hong regains his innocence and finds out that the reason he was under suspicion was because of the 500,000 dollars which Kuk had received from Boon. Hong interrogates Kuk about the reasons for this and instructs him to return the money to Boon, saying that he will pay for the expenses of the new grave by himself. Yuk lies and says that she has gained several hundred thousand from the stock market to give to Hong and he is very pleased about this. Hong finds that the new gravestone does not have his elder brother's name on it and says that Kuk has been negligent, Kuk humours him. Boon waits until Hong has left before he goes to pay his respects to his parents, he sees that Hong has added a piece of paper with the words "The Grave of Chung Tin Yan" and he is annoyed.

Episode 19 - Hong strongly pursues Nam's love

After the incident with Fu, Sin Hang accuses Boon of showing double standards

Yui returns home to find To hounding Fu and realises that it was Fu who helped to return the tiara in Boon's possession, she tells her that even if she sacrifices herself like this she will not get any promises from Boon in return, Fu is upset and sheds tears. Yui loses her temper with Sin Hang and inadvertantly lets on the secret about Fu retrieving the tiara. Sin Hang is furious and goes to find Boon, saying that he wasn't willing to let him use the fake tiara, yet was willing to let Fu give herself up is showing double standards. Boon finds out that To is still hassling Fu and immediately seeks him out for a showdown. Journalists question To as to why he is not attending the promotional event with Wai, To says she is on a foreign holiday. Boon warns To not to hound Fu any more, To is not willing. Hong buys the complete set of San's novels to get on his right side, but this repulses Nam. Nam is invited to the mainland to take part in a birthday party for the Chan Village School, Sam encourages Hong to accompany her, Nam also drags Yu along with her. Nam tells Hong to buy a drink for the children, Hong goes along with Yu to buy it, then he tells her to return to Hong Kong so that she isn't in the way of him and Nam, Yu angrily leaves, but accidentally injures her leg. To Nam's surprise, Boon and Yan are also in Chan Village and Nam openly joins him in playing with all the children. Hong carries Yu to the bone doctor before returning home, just as Hong is about to stop by for dinner, Yu points out that his position and salary are higher than her but is always "sticking around for dinner", everyone is very surprised that she is so fiery. Nga can see that Yu is attracted to Hong and hints to her not to fight with Nam for him, Yu denies this. Nam suggests to Yu to be brave and let her feelings be known to the person she admires, Yu forces a smile, saying that the feelings are not reciprocated. Boon receives a phone call that there is a bomb in Ding Fung Jewellers and evacuates the customers quickly, luckily it was just a scare. To goes to the police station to report that Wai has been missing for a number of days, Hong and his team move to check her immigration records and her lover. Yan meets Nam for dinner, but Nam is disappointed when she turns up alone.

Episode 20 - Hong jumps into the sea, Sin Hang knocks over and kills a lady

Does Hong want to be the lead role in "Titanic"?

Yan envies Nam in that she can work and make money, Nam encourages her by saying that heaven gives you your own skills to be able to use them for good and tells her to prove this to Bo. When Nam returns home, she meets Hong and decides to let him know his place and step back. Hong hears that Nam wants to invite him on a yacht trip and is very excited. When Hong finds out she has also invited Sum and all her colleagues he is disappointed again. Hong realises that Nam is trying to promote him to her female colleagues and is hurt by this, because he can't take this setback, he jumps into the sea and struggles, Nam is frightened and jumps in after him to rescue him. Hong says he is an orphan, all he wants is to find a girl to set up his own family and he has only ever liked Nam, Nam gives in and agrees to be friends with him, relighting Hong's hopes. On his way home, Sin Hang accidentally knocks over an old lady with his car, but drives away in fright. Kuk knows what Sin Hang has done and calls Boon to give him a chance to go and give himself up. Boon tells Sin Hang that he must face up to his problems, in his fear Sin Hang cuts him off and goes to Tung for help, Tung tells him to go to the police station and report his car stolen. Boon tells Bo that Sin Hang has killed someone, Bo is horrified, at this time, Sin Hang returns complaining that his car was stolen, Boon does not believe him. Kuk scolds Boon for paying someone to take the blame, Boon protests his innocence, but says that as Sin Hang is still so young, for him to get away with it is not a bad thing, Kuk says he will only create evil by doing this. Sin Hang still feels guilty, but Tung comforts him whilst also taking the opportunity to slander Boon. Leung sees Yu is trapped by her emotions and suggests she goes to his sisters place to have her fortune read in Tarot cards, Yu is moved. Leung's sister says that Yu is secretly admiring her senior, just as she is about to mention their future, Leung appears and Yu hurriedly leaves. Leung encourages her to fight a fair battle with Nam, but Yu can only force a smile. Hong asks Nam to go cycling, Nam says he is boring, Hong then drags her into a cave and lights fireworks, Nam sees the fireworks and leaves, very upset, Hong is bewildered.

Episode 21 - Boon wants to get back together with Nam

Yu uses her charms to seduce the drinking crowds but causes trouble for herself

Nam directly says that she does not have any feelings for Hong at all, Yu says that she is still thinking about Boon. The police discover that Wai's lover is called Patrick, Hong and Yu go to his usual bar to investigate, Yu uses her beauty and charm to find out that Patrick has gone with a rich woman on holiday abroad. Hong suspects that the wealthy lady is Wai and suggests that Patrick is involved with her disappearance, but Yu feels that To's suspicion is greater. Bo finds life is beginning to get boring, so she wants to go and work at Ding Fung, Boon is troubled, Hang suggests that Bo works in PR and tries selling products to the wealthy wives. Yan also wants to work and be a useful person, Bo will not let her, Boon helps out in convincing her. Yan is taking some designs to the workshop but becomes lost and wanders into the vault where she meets Kai, Kai teaches her to use a notebook to draw a map to find her way and he gives her his notebook as a present. Bo is concerned that Yan has met a mentally handicapped friend and is also worried that Kai will not be able to complete his duties, but when he sees how careful he is with his work and this puts her at ease. To goes to the morgue to identify a body, when he sees the female body, he says that this is his mother who left her husband and children. To arranges a meeting with Fu, he says that his abnormal behaviour is due to the deeds of women and says that Fu looks like his first love who died, he wants to be back together with her, Fu is afraid and doesn't know what to do. Jik says that the real murderer of Cheung was Chicken Rib, Boon is very relieved to hear this. Boon asks Yan to pass on a trinket box to Nam, Nam sees that inside the box is "Protection Star" and her feelings are all mixed, Yu works out that Boon wants to get back together with her again and points out that Nam still has feelings for him. Fu suddenly resigns to go and study in France, Boon suspects she has another reason and will only allow her to take 6 months leave. The police find Wai's body and go to Ming Shek to arrest To. Nam gives the "Protection Star" back to Boon and turns to leave, Boon feels helpless, suddenly he hears Nam's screams and as he goes to investigate he is knocked out.

Episode 22 - To is murdered, Boon and Fu fight to admit guilt

Faced with the danger of losing his life, Boon shows his real feelings. How can Nam not be moved?

Fu collects up her things as though to leave Ding Fung, Yui tries to persuade her not to give everything up, however Fu insists that if she leaves then she will no longer bring any trouble for Boon. Fu goes down to the workshop and looks around, not really wanting to leave, she calls Boon but is surprised to hear To's voice on the other end of the line, To says that Boon is in his hands and he has killed Wai who betrayed him, he wants to see Fu immediately, Fu is terrified and doesn't know what to do. Boon wakes to find that he and Nam are held in a car and the car is gradually sinking into the sea, with water seeping inside the car, he is mortified, but he tells Nam that he did not kill Cheung and wants to be back together with her, she agrees.

Fu goes to To's yacht and To admits that he has already disposed of Boon's body in the sea, when Fu hears this she is horrified. To holds Fu and says that he wants to run away with her, Fu decides that she must seek vengeance for Boon and puts a chemical into the red wine. Boon and Nam escape with their lives and Nam goes to the police while Boon goes in search of Fu. When Boon arrives at the yacht, he sees that To has died and calls Jik for help. The police arrive at the yacht to arrest To, Fu cries out that she murdered him, but Boon insists that he is the murderer.

Fu and Boon fight over the truth of the real murderer and Jik scolds him for not waiting until he arrived to fix things before admitting guilt. Boon insists on his own defence in court and asks Jik to represent Fu, Jik can only do as he asks. Lun and Sum are responsible for the prosecution against them both for murder. Seeing Boon admitting guilt, Nam is very upset and Bo and the family are very worried. Everyone is worried that this case will affect the business at Ding Fung so Tung suggests that Sin Hang takes over at Ding Fung to put people's minds at rest, Hang and Bo show their support for this. Nam points out to her family that Boon never murdered Cheung or To and admits to Yu that she never did stop loving Boon, sighing that just as there was hope for them both, something always happens.

Episode 23 - Boon gives up Nam to rescue Fu

Sin Hang temporarily takes over as Managing Director of Ding Fung

Sin Hang takes over as Managing Director of Ding Fung and puts his employees minds at rest. Hong and Sum both reckon that Boon is taking the blame for Fu, but all the evidence is circumstantial and there are no eye-witnesses, Lun suggests to try and talk Boon into being a prosecution witness. Unfortunately, Boon would rather go to prison together with Fu than accuse her of murder. When Nam finds out, she goes and pleads with Bo, saying that Boon always puts his family first and asking her to use their relationship to win him over. Bo and Sin Hang go and see Boon, telling him that neither the family nor Ding Fung can be without him, and saying that for the sake of Bong's dying wish, he cannot take the blame for Fu, Boon is slightly moved, but finally still refuses.

Nam can only go and see Boon herself, she pleads with him to become a prosecution witness and get exemption from his charges, telling him that to take the blame means neither of them will go free, she also tells him to think about her and how they have just got back together. Boon refuses, and holding back his feelings, he tells Nam that they do not have a future together, Nam is devastated. Jik suggests to Boon that he should become a prosecution witness, but he must betray Nam to be able to save Fu, he explains his plan and Boon agrees to go along with it.

Lun applies for exemption from charges for Boon, but in court, Boon gives an opposing testimony, Lun and Nam are shocked. Boon tells of the reason why he is giving such conflicting evidence and the court cries out, Nam sees that she has been used and feels very hurt. Lun requests that the jury is released, Jik objects because this would be detrimental to Fu's case, eventually the case is adjourned. At this time, Fu has also turned back her previous statement, pleading that she is not guilty and also telling of her previous relationship with To and how he used to beat her, she also admits that she deeply loves Boon and that is why she gave herself up to To in order to retrieve the tiara, when Nam hears this, her feelings and thoughts are rattled. Lun and Jik each give their closing summaries and Fu's heart is very uncomfortable.

Reporters ask Nam about her feelings towards being betrayed by Boon

The seven members of the jury retire to consider their verdict but their opinions are split. The judge is disappointed with their decision but respects their views, reserving his right to charge Boon with perverting the course of justice. The journalists ask Nam about how she has shown favouritism towards Boon but he has rejected her love, Nam remains silent, Hong helps her out of the situation. The two meet Boon in the car park, Hong can't hold back swinging a fist at him. Fu is uncomfortable about coming between the relationship between Nam and Boon, Boon tells her that he is not suitable for Nam and after this case he has found that his real love is for Fu, Fu is overjoyed. Hong says that Boon is twisting the truth, betraying Nam's emotions and her reputation, Nam calmly defends Boon, saying that she did wrong by giving in to her feelings, Hong smiles painfully.

Boon goes to Nam's house and they meet each other downstairs, Boon apologises to her, Nam says she understands that he is not in control of his own life and he has never put love in first place, also that he cannot let go of Fu, but what he has done has hurt her greatly, she says that he is not allowed to watch fireworks, or eat "pillow bun" or give the "protection star" to another woman, Boon holds her and says he misses her. Nam goes home and consoles her family, she says that she has not shown favoritism, but she has wronged, so she is going to resign her position and change her work environment. Everyone is happy that Boon and Fu are a couple, but only Jik knows the real truth.

Boon and Kuk go and see Yuk, they sigh that after this case, his distance from Hong is growing further and further apart, Kuk says that as long as he has no wrong in his heart, then the day will come when they will admit each other. Nam hands in her letter of resignation, her superior Wan Kwok Keung says that she does not need to resign, but Nam's decision has been made. Boon brings a take away meal, Fu opens it to find that it is a diamond ring, Boon proposes, Fu is shocked and surprised, at this time, Boon receives a supina from the courts, he is being charged with perverting the course of justice.

Episode 25 - Hong breaks into Nam's heart

Jik indicates that they may not necessarily lose the court case, but Boon insists that he must face the consequences of his actions, Jik can't do anything. Jik goes to the prosecution service to find Lun, pointing out that he does not have sufficient evidence to prove the case, moreover Boon is willing to face punishment for his actions, so they should bear this in mind and offer a lighter sentence, the two sides reach an agreement and Boon is sentenced to 6 weeks in prison. With an invitation from Hong to go fishing at the weekend, Nam isn't sure what to do. Hong says that pursuing girls and being an undercover cop is all about resilience and patience, deciding to wait each week at the pier for Nam to turn up, Yu wishes him the best of luck. Hong painfully waits at the pier for Nam, just as he is giving up hope, Nam appears and his joy is uncontrollable.

Nam finds out Nga has a lot of bills building up at the restaurants and Yu admits that Nga hasn't been going to the cookery lessons and every day's food has been bought, so when they hear that Nga doesn't want to go on a trip with San because she has to go to cookery class, the girls become suspicious. They follow Nga to find that she is actually attending a jewellery design class. Nga admits that she has always been interested in jewellery design, but she has never had support from San and she has had to look after him so she had to give it up, she wants to gain a certificate to justify herself, her two daughters show their support for her. The three return home to find that San is being interviewed by the TV station, his novel has been awarded a prize for boundless creativity.

Nam starts work at a legal firm and Hong brings her home-made lunch, Nam praises his culinary skills, Hong says that fortune is not inevitable and that he has had to learn to look after himself from a young age, Nam's impression of him starts to change. Hong tells his family of how he touched Nam's heart with his lunch, but everyone thinks he is exaggerating and Hong is frustrated. Yui is envious of Fu because of the daily flowers which he sends her, Sin Hang sees this and sends her a basket of flowers, Yui takes the opportunity to ask him to lunch. Yui and Yee get into an argument over a taxi and later find that they have both arranged to meet Sin Hang, they then both fight over his affections and frighten Sin Hang to death!

Episode 26 - San suspects that Nga is having an affair

Boon suggests to Sin Hang to do a detailed financial analysis for the investment company project

Everyone is pleased that Boon has returned home and he is happy to hear that sales at Ding Fung have risen, Sin Hang suggests to expand their business by starting an investment company, Boon doesn't comment. Hang praises Boon for spotting a danger, warning that Sin Hang doesn't have the experience to run an investment company and the power will eventually fall into Tung's hands and this would affect Ding Fung's gold business. At the shareholder's meeting, Boon mentions that it is not yet time to start the investment company and that they should put their capital into the gold trade in order to fulfil Bong's wish to create an international standard for their pure gold, everyone agrees and Sin Hang is disappointed.

Bo takes a fancy to a piece which has been entered into a jewellery design competition and wants to recruit the designer to Ding Fung, Boon agrees. Nga wins the competition and a trainee designer contract, she is pleased but also worried, Nam encourages her to accept. Bo arranges to meet Nga and finds out that she is Nam's mother. Nga announces that she has won the prize and will be starting work at Ding Fung, San objects strongly, his daughters scold him for being a chauvinist, Hong persuades him by saying let her go and taste failure.

On her first day at work, Nga bumps into her old time lover Hang, she turns to walk away, but Hang chases her. The two talk about their recent lives in a restaurant and by coincidence is seen by Nam, she remembers a time when she was younger when she used to see them together. When Hang drops Nga off home, he meets San and he becomes very jealous. Nam returns home to find that San is accusing Nga and Hang of knowing each other for a long time and Nga vigorously denying this, Nam spurts out what she saw in the past, Nga tries to defend herself but they do not believe her, San says he is suspicious of whether Nam is truly his daughter, Nga angrily leaves the house. Bo finds out about everything and comforts Nga, talking Fu into taking her in. Boon tells Nam where Nga is staying and Hang vows that there is nothing happening between them. Nam apologises to Nga and asks her to return home, but Nga insists that San comes and apologises before she will go home.

Episode 27 - San apologises to Nga

The Ding family are all preparing for Boon's wedding ceremony and Boon announces that he is looking for a new home for them to share their own world. Boon takes Fu to look at homes, but Fu claims to see To and screams with fright. Fu is worried about her illusion but Yui comforts her, saying it is just pre-marital nerves. Bo asks Fu to look after Yan and out of boredom, Yan reads the newspaper, when she sees that a fast food store is recruiting for staff, she rushes off to apply and gets lost along the way. Luckily, she meets Kai who also tells her how to go about her job application. Boon and co find that Yan is missing and are fearful for her. Bo will not let Yan be work in the restaurant, Yan is unhappy that Bo does not believe in her abilities, eventually Boon persuades Bo to let Yan start working at Ding Fung.

Nga sees that San is still not willing to come and apologise and binges on eating to quash her disappointment, making herself ill in the process, Nin hatches an idea. Nam receives a call saying that Nga has tried to commit suicide and is terrified, however San thinks this is all a plan and still insists that he will not bow down to her. Nam and Hong rush to Nin's home and when Nam finds Nga foaming from the mouth, she quickly instructs to call an ambulance, but the others try to put her off. Hong sees through this as a plot, but goes along with it, saying he will carry her to the hospital himself. San is at home feeling very uneasy and finally rushes to the hospital, when he sees that Nga is to have her stomach pumped, he is stricken with panic and tells her his innermost feelings, bringing a smile to her face. Hong takes the opportunity to say to Nam that she must cherish the fortune she has now, Nam finally agrees to accept his affections.

Yan takes all her teddy bears to work and points out that the father bear is her protector. Yan is instructed to take a bag of diamond stones to the vault, but she forgets her work when she is distracted by play and loses the diamonds, Kai scolds her for not having any sense of responsibility, but helps her to find the bag of stones. Afterwards, he encourages her by saying that she herself must create self-confidence and not any protector, Yan takes this on board and is very thankful to him.

Episode 28 - Fu's sanity is affected by her concerns

Fu sees the chemicals in the workshop, has visions of To when she is trying on her wedding dress and her mental state becomes affected by her worries and concerns. Fu tells her psychologist that she feels so lucky to be able to marry Boon, but she cannot let go of the memories of To. The doctor explains that both Boon and To are part of her history, in order to forget the bitter memories, she also needs to put behind her memories of Boon as well. Fu decides to leave Hong Kong to go and study in Paris, Boon respects her decision, but Bo doesn't understand at all. Boon personally sees Fu off at the airport, Fu says that when she returns she will be a new person and she hopes that they will be more than just friends then, she also instructs him to be himself and not just think of his duty and honour to other people, Boon silently agrees.

Boon sees Hong and Nam in the street on a date together looking for a pet turtle, he secretly feels very upset. Nga complains that San's cooking is awful, San looks for respite from his daughters. Hong gives a model policeman to Nam, telling her to think of him whenever she sees the doll. Nam takes the doll and the Protection Star and thinks of the happy times she spent with Boon and her heart aches. Hong invites Nam home for a steamboat party and to meet his family, Nam refuses saying that she has not had chance to prepare herself yet; Hong asks if she will take a photo sticker with him, she refuses again, calling him immature, Hong is disappointed.

Hong finds out by chance that Boon and Fu have split up and together with the gossip from Yee, he realises that his relationship with Nam will not progress and he feels upset. Yu sees him down in the dumps and asks him the reason, Hong tells her everything. Yu says that Hong is in danger of losing his confidence, but Nam doesn't react when she hears this. Hong says that as Boon and Fu have split up, if Nam wants to return to Boon, he will send his most heartfelt best wishes. Nam says she will need to think about it long and hard but she is glad that their feelings are not yet so deep that he would be very hurt if they were to part, but Hong's pain comes from his heart when hears this. Hong forces laughter as he goes home, where he is surprised to see Nam.

Episode 29 - Chui Yee enters Ding Fung to get close to Sin Hang

Finally they take a photo sticker together!

Hong apologises for misunderstanding Nam and she forwardly suggests that they go and take photo stickers together, he is overjoyed. He brings home his photographs in glory and Yee is greatly affected, Yuk encourages her to go and pursue the man she likes, Yee takes photos of the dolphins to go and see Sin Hang, but she is unable to contact him and leaves a message for him with Yui. Boon instructs Sin Hang to do a market analysis report, but Sin Hang says he is busy with the business plan for the investment company and refuses, but is unsuccessful. Yui forgets to tell Sin Hang that Yee is waiting for him and rushes to the restaurant to tell her, but Yee thinks that this was deliberate, causing much frustration for Yui. Yee finds out that Ding Fung is recruiting for junior clerks in the design department and she has a decision.

Hong is unhappy that his family is taking over Nam and getting in the way of their time together, so he kisses her in public, everyone takes the hint and leaves them alone. Yui is astonished to find that Yee is the newly appointed clerk and the two have many arguments. Sin Hang is troubled by having to edit his analysis report and Yee fights to offer to help him, Yui lets her have her way. It turns out that Yui is aware that Yee will not complete the task and wants to teach her a lesson. Sin Hang sees thatYee is late with her report and is worried, Yui comforts him by saying she has already prepared one. Boon arrives to collect the report and Yee presents it just in time, praised by both Boon and Sin Hang.

Kuk calls Boon to ask him about who the target of Yee's affections is, Boon hears from the phone the sounds of Nam and Hong and he feels awkward. Bo sees that Boon is lonely and bored and tells him to go and cool things down in France with Fu, Boon plays along with her. Sin Hang hands over the investment company project plans to Boon and hopes that he will bring it up at the directors meeting. At the meeting, Boon suggests that to apply for the recognition of pure gold standards will require a large amount of funding and so they should put the investment company project on hold, Sin Hang is very unhappy and leaves in anger.

Episode 30 - Brothers Boon and Sin Hang fall out with each other

Yee takes Sin Hang to a club to cheer him up and as the two are dancing, Yee is assaulted by a golden haired guy, just as Sin Hang squares up with him, Hong and his colleagues turn up to do a spot check, Sin Hang is found to have drugs on him and is taken back to the police station. Sin Hang insists he has been set up by the golden haired guy, Yee also protests that he is innocent, Hong is angry with her for going to an improper place and scolds her severely. Sin Hang and Yee are released and Kuk and his family tell her to stay away from Sin Hang saying that he is not a good person, Sin Hang can't figure it out, later he realises that it is because they know about the car accident, he thinks that Boon has been spreading rumours about him and is not happy.

Kuk is adamantly against Yee dating Sin Hang and tells Yuk that Sin Hang once killed someone and drove away, by coincidence Hong overhears this. Bo see that Boon and Sin Hang are at odds with each other and tells Sin Hang to bear with his brother who works hard for the family business. Sin Hang sees that she will only speak highly of Boon and is even more unhappy with this, Tung takes the opportunity to turn them against each other more. Man is warned by Chicken Rib about repaying her loans and she blames Tung for being locked safe like Sin Hang (ie has no access to the family wealth). Chicken Rib convinces Tung to take part in more money laundering, with Tung saying he must wait for the opportunity. Yui tries to persuade Sin Hang into sacking Yee, but he is reluctant. Later he sees that Hong wants to force him to leave Yee and deliberately grabs Yee, saying he will not let her go, Yee is very happy about this. Yee says her family are judging Sin Hang through tinted lenses and are being unfair, this makes Kuk very angry.

At the directors' meeting, Tung and Sin Hang point out that the funds being sent into Ding Fung Gold Enterprise is too high and to use Bo's properties is too high a risk to take, Boon invites Bo to appear at the meeting. Bo says she will support Boon's proposition and Sin Hang leaves very unhappily. Tung finds out that Boon and Sin Hang are not real brothers and hatches a plot. Boon wants to patch things up with Sin Hang, but Sin Hang's reactions are cool and deliberately introduces Yee as his girlfriend making Boon feel very helpless.
