TVB's mystery drama "The Legendary Ranger" has winding and absorbing storylines, telling of a young doctor called Yuen Chan Hap who by chance rescues fantasy author Wong Hong and encounters a string of mysterious and strange occurrences and dangers.

After Hong is rescued, he is a little insane and Yuen cannot find his family until suddenly a beautiful lady called Wong Guen comes forward to identify Hong as her father, but when Hong sees her he is very frightened and does not admit that she is his daughter. Yuen finds this all very suspicious and further investigates Hong, causing friction with his partner Kam Shek, resulting in the responsibility of treating Hong falling into the hands of another young doctor Chu Tung. Unfortunately, Chu Tung and Hong are both abducted and Yuen's girlfriend, astrologer Nam Ling urges him to stop investigating in case he himself gets hurt, but Yuen takes no notice of her. When Ling also mysteriously disappears, more strange things start happening and all the evidence points towards Guen.

Guen is coolly gorgeous and very mysterious, causing Yuen many problems in his investigations. At this time, female special agent Hoi Tong who is investigating the disappearance of Prince Yuk Yat also treads upon the lead of Guen. Yuen and Tong cooperate in their investigations and fight through many perils, developing a love affair along the way when Ling reappears but with a completely new personality and the intentions of harming Yuen. Finally, in order to rescue Yuen, Tong kills Ling and Yuen is left mourning the loss of his love and unable to face Tong. Luckily, he has his plucky assistant Wan Choi to help him through and he swears to solve the mystery and find the truth.

Starting with Guen's lead, Yuen finally finds the truth behind the strange happenings. It all stems from a novel written by Wong Hong about how you can change the function of humans and create the perfect person by altering their brains. This idea was adopted by millionare Wing Yiu and together the two worked to make this idea a reality with Wing Yiu's ultimate goal of controlling all humanity. As a result of this project, many innocent people were sacrificed. When Yuen finds out this secret, he vows to stop this carrying on but at this time he finds himself falling in love with Guen and not able to control himself...

    Angry

Hmm...Good Against Evil sounds like a mixture of the American movie "The Majestic" with Jim Carey and Clues(The who dunt it game/movie).

I don't think it's very original...same goes for the title....
