Post New forum readme

Hello everyone,

We are now completely moved over to the new vBulletin forum. Please refer to this thread for help.

There was an error importing the posts at the Announcements forum here so those posts are gone. (Moderators, please a new post Moved/Deleted thread. )

I have imported all members and threads over but as you guys/gals will notice, there are some scattered features that were not merged. A list of some of them that I noticed:

1) Avatars - members' avatars are not selected. To reselect your avatar, follow these steps:
a) Log in
b) Click on the button at the top right corner "user cp" (user control panel)
c) Click on "Edit Option" at the top
d) Scroll down and you'll see at the bottom the option to select your avatar.
e) If you have 500+ posts and had a custom avatar you can specify the URL of your old avatar where it says:
You can enter an URL of your avatar:
I have moved all the custom avatars to the following directory:
http://www.spcnet.tv/forums/images/avatars/custom/

So, if your old member ID # was 70, you would enter
http://www.spcnet.tv/forums/images/a.../custom/70.jpg

2) Quotes and smilies in messages could not be converted so you'll notice that some messages have such code:

. . .
for quotes

and

. . .  for smilies

List of settings to make sure are customized:

1) Make sure your Private Messaging (PM) is enabled. Check by clicking on "user cp", "Edit Options" and "yes" (or "no" if you don't want it enabled) selected where it says Enable Private Messaging?

2) Time Zone - You can specify what the time display is at the forum for yourself. Click on "user cp", "Edit Options" and selecting for Time offset:

When you enter a forum and see this icon at the thread:

$this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://www.spcnet.tv/forums/images/dot_hotfolder.gif')

(has a black dot on the envelope)

it means you have made a post in that thread previously.

Clicking on this icon image at the main forum page or in a specific forum:

$this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://www.spcnet.tv/forums/images/lastpost.gif')

will take you to the last post of a thread.

P.S. (Before I retire for the night) Don't get used to those ugly purple icons like this one:

$this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://www.spcnet.tv/forums/images/top_profile.gif')

because I plan to change these default sets that came with the forum. Anyone know some good sites for downloading forum icons, buttons, and other graphics? Please PM!

I forgot to set permissions on this Announcements forum. It should be restricted to Moderators and admin posting only. I sent a PM to Miss Funn Lim (who has not been forgotten by the way) and to zzzbeauty about their issues. Also, jay_z's questions are answered at the Technical Issues forum in the Question and Answer post.
