Ooh yeah, Liu Chengfeng from Linked Cities. A small cameo in the book (got killed accidentally by Hua Tiegan - one of the more clumsy sequences in wuxia) but he was, as far as I know, a very respected and decent martial artist. In the China series, his battle with Blood Sabre Ancestor lasted over a day, and it was totally awesome - if Hua hadn't intervened the fight would have been totally balanced.

Thanks, HuangYushi. Yes, I was referring to Cao Cao. IIRC, Tian Guinong was quite a despicable fella, the one who caused the death of Hu Yidao, wasn't he? How's this Cao Yunqi like? Was he a good person or a contemptible lackey? Or one of those eccentric, grey-and-in-between character?

You're welcome. Yeah, Tian Guinong was despicable. Cao Yunqi is a bit different from the run-of-the-mill JY characters, which are either young/teenaged (especially the heroes) or kinda old/middle-aged and above (especially the clan-leaders and such). His age is not specified, but he is described as "in the prime of his life". He liked Tian Guinong's daughter, Qingwen (late teens to early 20s, I think), who unfortunately preferred someone else (who had a better sense of humour and was a lot less impatient, impulsive and hot-headed), so he can't be that old.

More on Cao Yunqi: Had muscular arms and looked impressive when seated on a large horse. Also known as the 'Sword of the Galloping Dragon' (Teng2 Long2 Jian4). Possessed quite a degree of accomplishment in the fist and sword techniques of the Tianlong School.

So I would say Cao Yunqi is closer to a good person, but he's no Zhang Wuji or Guo Jing.
