Overrated Beauty of Certain Actresses

Before anyone starts going, "You have no right to diss the untouchable beauty of actresses, etc." or along the lines of "look in the mirror yourself" , I just wanted to see if anyone agrees with me.

Sometimes, I find that if the media hypes up the beauty of an actress enough, or fans start spreading around their raves, then a very so-so/average looking person will start to suddenly appear "beautiful".

Personally, I don't get the hype about Ariel Lin, Choi Ji Woo, Michelle Ye, Shirley Yeung, or Flora Chan. I'm sure there's more of them, but can't think of any now. I can certainly find prettier girls just walking on the streets, so I don't really get why the rave about their beauty.

Btw, this isn't a discussion about their acting skills---though some of the people in the above list aren't the greatest actresses either, but that's a different discussion.

I couldn't agree more with you! Almost all of the TVB actresses nowadays.

Decent-looking/photogenic: Charmaine, MELISSA (she's always handed the beauty-type roles , Myolie, TAVIA, Leila, Flora...the list goes on.

I believe almost all of the Chinese "beauties" are beautiful except Ruby. She's just cute/adorable/lovable, but not beautiful. Zhou Xun is a rare case. Her talent and charisma exceeds looks, and so she is considered beautiful? I like her a lot though, so whatever.

Choi Ji Woo is a good actress, but I don't think she's beautiful. Jang Na Ra is cute, but that's just it.

In my opinion I think Ruby and Carman are very beautiful. Although they are not consider sexy which most Asian actress are not, but they are very pretty in that gential and soft kind of way. To me, their beauty is very classy and not to overpowering. I don't really know how to describe it.

I was just about to mention her too. She's definitely cute, but definitely overrated, especially when cast as Wang Zhao Jun.
