Default Qian Kun Da Nuo Yi

So, I managed to find this post on the Internet about QKDNY. Not sure how accurate it is but it's quite an interesting read.

In YTTLJ itself, the use of the skill by Yang Xiao and Zhang Wuji is depicted as the reversal and redirection of the opponent's attacks (energy + stroke). Qian and Kun are two of the eight trigrams. The eight trigrams is a super system that comprises eight complete systems of energy and positioning. Qian specifically refers to the linking aspects of the universe while Kun refers to the reversal aspects. Together, they represent the flow of energy and movement throughout the universe.

Gaining deep awareness of Qian and Kun means that one is able to feel the pulse of the universe in the form of energy flow. Since this is a massive superset of what each individual is made up of and is able to achieve in terms of his movements and expending of energy, perfect understanding of Qian and Kun allows perfect understanding of how an opponent's energy comes towards you and how he is moving in relation to your own body.

The different levels of QKDNY denote different depths of understanding of Qian and Kun. The deeper one goes, the more in-depth his knowledge of the flow of energy from environment to person, person to environment, person to person. The extreme stage allows the practitioner to grab and direct energy as if it were tangible form like an approaching stick and then control the energy in various ways including but not limited to diversion, dissipation, reversal and amplification.

Nice article; QKDNY again seems very similar, if not more advanced than taiji in theory

you should post this up as an ad in the survivor thread!

Hua Gong Da Fa? I can tell you its mainly a weaker version of Beiming Shengong. Others here could elaborate more though.

Huagong Dafa works by the practioner injecting poison into the opponent's body, eradicating the opponent's kung fu and/or rendering him powerless. The difference between this and Beiming is that 1) Beiming does not use poison, 2) Beiming lets you such the opponent's energy permanently into your own, while Huagong does not let the opponent's energy become your own.

Here is one more excellent article about Qiankun Danuoyi, the Great Reversal:

Qiankun Danuoyi is a martial arts system of Persian origins, being the highest level martial art of the Western Regions. The system consists of seven stages. Generally speaking, an exceptionally talented person would need 7 years to complete the 1st stage. Someone with lesser talents would need 14 years. The same goes for the 2nd stage. If a practitioner has not made any improvements after 21 years, he must not try to train the method of the 3rd stage.

Why is it so difficult to train this art? The principle of Qiankun Danuoyi is to manipulate the natural energy streams within the human body. The practitioner uses his own internal power to stimulate and manipulate the energy inside his body, breaking through various energy points. The method of channeling the internal power is extremely complex, and only a minor mistake might kill the practitioner. That's why the art demands the practitioner to have a great amount of internal power: he needs great power to work with (channel) and great power to protect himself (his internal organs etc). In the 4th stage, the practitioner will shift the natural energies around in his body, and his own blood flow be redirected, and his body will suddenly appear red or green. This continues up untill the 7th stage, in which the entire energy flow will be balanced again, and the practitioner will appear normal.

Because the Qiankun Danuoyi practitioner has manipulated, shifted and changed his energy in every way possible, he is able to see the energy fields and power generation of other fighters in action, and identify/pinpoint the energy flows in their movements. He then can use his own, "strange" energy to manipulate the power of his opponents.

So basically, Qiankun Danuoyi is all about messing with your own body first in a crazy way, so you can move on to mess with the bodies of other people.

That's why Wuji can redirect the power of his opponents against themselves, and also understand and replicate the martial arts of others (he cannot do this instantaneously, he needs to observe the way of power generation first).

This is why, contrary to popular belief, Qiankun Danuoyi is different from Taiji.

that article is a decent summary of what JY says about QK in HSDS, but the last line comes out of nowhere! it doesnt discuss how taiji differs at all...

heh, it seems like this: "This is why, contrary to popular belief, Qiankun Danuoyi is different from Taiji." is Laviathan's thesis statement, but looking over the article, I dont see it being proven.

That artile was not an independent writing by itself. It's actually a reply to another question in this forum.

well but at least it's useful information to say the least, at least we know exactly what it was.
it was meant to manipulate the energy/strength of a person to a greater heights. but still there r basis that the principles is same tai=chi.
