Superman can reverse the spin of the earth. Can Sweeps do that?

sweeper monk can use his inner energy and blast kryptonite in superman's direction. however, if it's brandon routh playing clark kent then i'd be more than happy to shield him from harm.

At the height of his power during the Silver Age of Comics (1950s-1970s), Superman could throw Earth-sized planets as if they were baseballs, blow out stars with his breath, and ignite suns with his heat vision. On that scale of power, even the Janitor Monk, who is as close to invincible as it gets in a wuxia context, is less than a gnat by comparison.

Heh. Superman is a DC Comics character, and aside from Kryptonite, the other two ways of defeating him are red solar radiation and magic. Red solar radiation won't kill him, but it will strip away his super powers while he's exposed to it and turn him into an ordinary man. Moreover, despite his superpowers, Superman has no special protection against magic, so a wizard or sorceror can affect him.

Sweeper Monk can acheive nothingness, can Superman defeat nothingness? How can he since there is nothing to defeat? What is defeat when there is nothing? Nothing is defeated.

woo-hoo! there's still hope for sweeper!!! take that into consideration all of you superman worshippers! don't get me wrong...i like the guy too but more because of clark kent than his alter ego. and if no one else is going to vote for sweeper then we might as well close this thread...it's too sad for me to see him get crushed so unreasonably. so demoralizing.

Yeah, presuming that the Janitor Monk can get his hands on Kryptonite or a red solar radiation generator in 12th Century China.

Maybe the Janitor Monk could work some Buddhist sorcery on Superman, however. I've long suspected that what the Janitor Monk practiced wasn't martial arts at all, but a kind of sorcery.

Of course, there's another superhero whom I think is potentially even more powerful than Superman: Green Lantern.

I think that Red Son established that even though the potential power of a Green Lantern can surpass Superman, Superman generally moves too fast for the thought-based weapon to really work.

Of course, someone like Parallax is an exception =)

As for most powerful hero on earth itself, the Martian Manhunter is definitely stronger.

Still, I wonder what would happen if we take Superman Prime into the equation. That Superman is stupidly powerful (he fought his way into heaven and had to be stopped by Michael).
