Mo Dong Sect's policy of taking visitors' weapons before allowing entrance

The Mo Dong Sect had a very wise policy of requiring its guests to leave their weaponry in the custody of Mo Dong Sect personnel for safe keeping during their visits. That way, if any of these guests had actually come to Mt. Mo Dong looking for trouble (as was often the case), he/she/they would have no weaponry advantage over the Mo Dong Sect members. It's the kind of security provision we see in many public places today.

But it seemed that Mo Dong Sect was the only sect that practiced such a safety measure. All the other sects didn't seem to ask their guests to surrender their weapons before entering the hosts' grounds. Why did this security measure seem unique to the Mo Dong Sect?

Wasn't this security measure only present when ZCS and YSS had just returned to the mainland AND it was Z3F's birthday, so they didn't want the "guests" to create trouble on trying to find XX's whereabouts and to save anything from ruining Z3F's birthday but eh it all failed.

I think it was a general rule for Mo Dong Sect that existed even prior to the Cheung Chui San/Yan So So affair. It cropped up not only in HSDS, but also in Gu Long's LUK SIU FUNG during the HAUNTED VILLA storyline. The Mo Dong Sect required all visitors to be disarmed before being allowed entry into Mt. Mo Dong facilities. This caused a problem when Sai Mun Chui Sheut went to Mo Dong (as could be expected, he refused to surrender his sword).

I think it was a general rule for Mo Dong Sect that existed even prior to the Cheung Chui San/Yan So So affair. Well it could probably just be a safety precaution but if someone really powerful wanted to attack Wudang then weapons wouldn't be necessary anyways.

Shaolin in HSDS also seemed to have that policy (with Guo Xiang and Wu Se)

In the JY world at least, its not the people who carry weapons you gotta worry about.

actually it was a general rule that one does not bring weapons into others martial arts school, especially if it happens to be a temple as well. shaolin has a leaving weapons rock but at ZSF's birthday, wudang did not erect one yet, still it was considered rude to bring weapons with you, especially during a celebration. after that incident, i belive the leaving weapons stone was erected.
