I totally agree with you. Though I think Hu ge and Eddie are good actors, but their roles are pretty much the same in their series, funny and charming heroes- with the exception of Hu Ge's new serie "The Myth". We have yet to see the serious side of Hu Ge. I can't say much about Eddie, I only saw him in The Young Warriors and he is funny and cute, but still good acting.

I think Yuan Hong is a great actor, more versatile. No matter what roles he got, he acted out with so much emotion bringing out the character he supposed to portray. Not to mention he is also 'delicious' to look at...lol

Oh my god, I think I've found my new love! I recently saw the 2008 version of Legend of the Condor Heroes with Yuan Hong as Yang Kang and noticed how hot he is! Aside from Miu Kiu Wai, Yuan Hong is probably the hottest Yang Kang. I didn't mind that the general storyline for Yang Kang was changed because Yuan Hong got more screen time, which meant I had more chances to ogle him! He looked suave and handsome in his imperial prince costume. Even in peasant garb during the period when he left the palace and lived a simple life with Mu Nianci, he still appeared super hot and attractive. In fact, I think I preferred him in peasant garb, which somehow made him look so manly! As a side note, I think Liu Shi Shi (who played Mu Nianci) suited him perfectly in 2008 LOCH. Her Mu Nianci was so petite, gentle, pretty, and fragile that she was a perfect complement to his manliness.

What character does Yuan Hong play in Fantasy Zhu Xian? What's his storyline?

Ahhhh! I just saw a clip of Yuan Hong in his Liao general outfit in Young Warriors of the Yang Clan and he looked incredibly hot hot hot with his beard! I don't know why I'm drooling. Usually, I like clean-cut men, but Yuan Hong's sexy beard just changed my opinion.

ohmygod i totally agree. usually i hate facial hair on guys, but after watching young warriors i was like, he's so hot! lol. that's the only exception though, usually i totally dislike beards. does it really take THAT much effort to shave? i mean, if women can take the time to shave their legs then men can definitely afford the time to shave their faces! lol

ChineseChik525, while a clean-cut man can be very attractive, I think a bit of a five o'clock shadow on a guy can be very sexy, too. In a few scenes in LOCH 2008, Yang Kang was a bit scruffy and unkempt, and for some reason, his unshaven face simply screamed "bad boy" that I couldn't help but sigh with adoration. He had a bit more facial hair than a five o'clock shadow in Young Warriors of the Yang Clan, but somehow he managed to exude sex appeal, nonetheless. By the way, something just struck me as I was gazing at Yuan Hong's pictures. I just realized that he looked a bit like Orlando Bloom! And Orlando Bloom is quite sexy.

I want to see YWotYC but the series is so long and he doesn't get the girl. I'm so sad for him. He reminds me of a younger Julian Cheung actually.

He looks delicious in ancient garb, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in a modern series with a slightly long hair ala` Ekin Cheng style with a slight unshaven look. Very bad boy!!! haha.

Dude, Mel, you should not cheat on Honam/Gilbert.
I just love how you Captivate My Mind

Self reminder - Update blog more often and continue editing/writing for TOV fanfic.

    OOH orlando bloom. yumm
but yeah, i think it just depends on the person, i didnt really mind orlando bloom's little scruff thingy in pirates either, hehe. i actually liked YK more in LOCH after he left his dad and changed his style! when he was just traveling around with nian ci, he looked so hot when he had the hairstyle with those wispy tendrils of hair falling into his face...ahh

    SS and Lady Zhuge:
Please, ladies. What Gilbert doesn't know can't hurt him, right? Besides, I really, truly tried to keep my eyes to Gilbert only, but all these other men were too hot to ignore. Alas, I had to break away from my Gilbert obsession and post in other men's threads. I had to obey my heart, you know? Really, who could resist Yuan Hong's smoldering, darkly sexy look as Yang Kang and Yelu Xie?

    ChineseChik525:
I agree with you! I think Yuan Hong looked so much hotter after he left the Jin palace and was traveling around with Mu Nianci, too! Sure, he appeared handsome and wealthy as the Jin prince, but as a Han peasant, he was soooo sexy! His scruffy appearance made him look so...wild and dangerous! Such animal appeal! Bad, bad, bad boy!

By the way, everyone, I've found two very nice MV's of Yuan Hong on youtube. I'm sure most Yuan Hong admirers have already viewed these, but on the off chance that some haven't yet, I'll post the links below.

savanhlikit: Thanks for the pictures! I read about Yuan Hong's new series in the Liu Shi Shi thread! (Interestingly, there is quite a bit on Yuan Hong in his costar, Liu Shi Shi's thread.) I'm going to be honest. I don't like long hair on my men. I prefer them to have short hair. A bit of a five o'clock shadow is ok with me, but no long hair, unless he's in a period/martial arts drama. Is his new series, Clothing the World, out yet? It seems like it might not have a lot of martial arts. Too bad. I wonder if his character will fall in love with Liu Shi Shi's character, just like in LOCH 2008. I've seen some pictures of Yuan Hong in modern clothes. I think he definitely looks better in period drama clothes, though. By the way, I've seen clips of Yuan Hong and Liu Shi Shi together on various shows and promotion talk shows. They seem very chummy and familiar with each other. And Yuan Hong is quite a comedian sometimes on these shows. He seems to enjoy answering questions on Liu Shi Shi's behalf. It makes me wonder if there is some romance going on off screen...

ChineseChik525: Yes! I agree. Yang Kang left the Jin Palace and turned into a man! The 2008 version of LOCH is the only version where I actually really like Yang Kang. In the past, I have been a Guo Jing fan and barely paid Yang Kang any attention. But in LOCH 2008, I just could not keep my eyes off the incredibly sexy and manly Yuan Hong and kept thinking he looked so much more magnetic and charming compared to the actor who played Guo Jing.

I just found a very long, in-depth discussion of Yuan Hong and Liu Shi Shi in LOCH 2008 as Yang Kang and Mu Nianci on the Asian Fanatics Forum. For those who haven't read this yet, it is pretty interesting and worthwhile to check out.

    http://asianfanatics.net/forum/topic...g-liu-shi-shi/

I'm almost finished with LOCH 2008.
    click to show/hide spoilers
I must say, I am quite shocked by episode 42 - THE KISS. Whoa, it is one of the more passionate kisses I've seen onscreen, let alone in a martial arts series! Usually, romantic scenes in a martial arts series involve lots of hugging. Or, you'll see the actor slowly and delicately lower the actress onto the bed. Then the camera zooms to the flickering candle on the nearby table, while soft music plays in the background. The screen then fades out. But with Yang Kang and Mu Nianci, there is no doubt that kissing occurred! I am still quite shocked, as you all can tell... And the interesting timing of that lovemaking scene kind of leaves me a bit shocked, too. But that's another long discussion that should be reserved for when I am not too sleepy.

Oh you visited Liu Shi Shi's thread too? There are speculations and the media will always ask the question what are the relationship between Yuan hong/LSS, or Hu Ge/LSS. Yuan Hong and Hu Ge are really protective of LSS since she is shy and new to the entertainment business(they also belong to the same management company). That's why we usually see Yuan Hong and Hu Ge speaking the most when the three are at promotions and events. I haven't heard much rumor on Yuan Hong/LSS as a couple as much as I heard of Hu Ge/LSS.

I don't like men with facial hair or long hair...eheheh
I think Yuan Hong looks good in ancient clothes more than modern as well. But when he had that shaved short hair during the LOCH 2008 promotion, he looked very hot. Now, he leaves it long..kinda make him look *dirty*.
