Here is a similarity in the ROCH/LOCH saga that seems to elicit a very different response from folks. It was brought up in another thread recently. I didn't want to go off topic even more in that thread.
Guo Jing wanted to kill Huang Yaoshi after thinking that he killed his masters.
Yang Guo wanted to kill Guo Jing/Huang Rong after thinking that Guo Jing kill his father.
Yet Yang Guo gets a bunch of flak for this where as Guo Jing receives little flak.
Both Huang Yaoshi and Guo Jing/Huang Rong did things which added to the hostile parties suspicion.
Huang Yaoshi didn't particiularly like Guo Jing and Huang Rong didn't particularly like Yang Gao and actively caused trouble for the respective parties.
Yet Yang Guo's actions are viewed as "Evil" and Guo Jing's mission passed by.
Is there a double standard? Is Guo Jing evil too? Is he hotheaded too?
He did try and cut of Guo Fu's arm and threatened to kill Yang Guo for his love. This is not a singular event of a stable person. It seems like a pattern of instability... and perhaps.... "EVIL"
Is Guo Jing evil? Obviously I don't think so, but if judged based on Yang Guo's actions being evil, is he?
