Big payout doesn't hurt, but when musicians get older, they sometimes like to revisit the work of their youth...reclaim their heritage, almost, after years of experimentation and progression.

Nah, it wouldn't be on the Music Forum if that were the case.

The Police were a really popular rock band in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Since they broke up in 1985, fans have been hoping they'd be betting back together.

Their lead singer, Sting, has had success as a solo artist during the late 1980s, 1990s, and during this decade.

Imagine my puzzlement when I saw it in the Music Forum, too, then.

They sound pretty interesting, but rock isn't really my thing. Maybe I'll look it up someday though. =)

Even if you're not familiar with the band, you probably know this song, which was their biggest hit.

Roxanne by The Police makes a good drinking song. Take a shot every time you hear the word, "Roxanne".

Amen. Not that Sting's solo career has been shoddy ("Fields of Gold," "If I Ever Lost My Faith In You," and "Desert Rose" were great hits), but it pales before the work he did with the Police.
