Default The old couple that Cheung Mo Gei and Chiu Mun met near Shaolin

On their mission to liberate Tse Tsun from Shaolin, Cheung Mo Gei and Chiu Mun were temporarily guests of an old couple whose son had been murdered by Tse Tsun. This old couple was at Shaolin hoping for an opportunity to avenge their slain son. For this purpose, the old man had even deafened his ears to overcome the effects of Tse Tsun's Lion's Roar.

Some questions pertaining to this old couple:

    1. Did they know that Cheung Mo Gei and Chiu Mun were martial artists and wulin people themselves? The older and younger couples went through this charade in which each couple pretended to not know that the other couple were martial artists. As veteran wulin people, however, the old couple could not have failed to notice that Cheung Mo Gei harbored incredible inner power. He could act and bluff the part of being a simple farmer, but he wouldn't be able to hide his inner power from wulin veterans.

    2. The couple was there to kill Tse Tsun, but they were genuinely friendly to Cheung Mo Gei and Chiu Mun (not knowing, of course, that the younger couple was there to spring Tse Tsun out of imprisonment). Cheung Mo Gei and Chiu Mun seemed to genuinely like the old couple. Had the old couple not finally been murdered by Chow Chi Yerk, however, Cheung Mo Gei would have had to deal with them one way or another (they were, after all, out to kill his adoptive father). I wonder how he would have handled that.

Wow. You made it sound as if ZWJ would kill the old couple which pretty much had zero chance of happening.

I think he would have apologised profusely for his godfather and also explain the tragedy and grief that Xie Xun went through which led to his indiscriminate killing the guilt for which he would have to live with. He would probably ask the old couple to think of their son who would not have wanted them to risk their lives because there is no way they can defeat Xie Xun even if they trained a hundred times. Then he can show them his martial arts which will awe them and he will tell them Xie Xun only taught him up to age 10, leaving them to draw the erroneous conclusion that OMG, 10 years of training under Xie Xun can produce such an outstanding disciple. They will get depressed and defeated without even being physically harmed.

However, Zhang Wu Ji will then offer to pledge or perform a good deed in the name of their son on his death anniversary every year so that his name lives on in glory and pple will know that this man died young and unjustly, but because of his death, it has saved countless of other people.

Do you guys think this is a good conciliatory plan?

It actually sounds a lot like the way Cheung Mo Gei would probably handle it. It's his way of doing things. This being wulin, however, he would probably need to demonstrate his skills before the old couple would consider his peaceful overtures.
