Could be. But from some of the interview (Utaban for one), I got a feeling Ohno isn't the type that want to be hassle to do things he doesn't like. I got an impression that he hasn't been in much leading role because he just don't want the trouble, right? I mean he's a laidback leader for Arashi, he's rather doing his art and fishing (did u see how dark he was in Maou and in Uta no Oniisan?), than doing drama .. I just assume hehehehehee...

Arashi is OK, I like most of them, except MatsuJun..

I'm watching Voice too now, and still try to finishing Innocent Love. Also I got my hand on Matsu Takako last dorama (not Hero) called Yakusa Damashii, anyone seen it? I was a bit off with the cast, except Matsu, but the ending song is my fave for along time, and just recently bump to someone's review saying Matsu's acting was good in here. Now I can't wait to find time to watch it!

Ahh.. also watching Kuitan2. Arrgghh I need to get a life.

Has anyone seen Code Blue SP? I think I like it better than the dorama. Very good SP, intense, surprising and good story.

I am currently watching Attention Please and Misaki Youko reminds me of myself.
Ryo is also in this drama, yay!, this is the third drama I've watched with him.

I also started on Mei-chan's Butler.

Recently finished watching Galieo SP and Hana Yori Dango Final SP.

    Thanks for the info.
I have yet to explore the wonderful world of modern Japanese serials yet. I'm exploring the ancient Japanese Taiga dramas first. I prefer ancient more than modern

Are the Taiga dramas popular in Japan? Or are the modern dramas more popular?

Finished Attention Please. And I just started watching Innocent Love...man, it's written by the same screenwriter as Last Friends, no wonder it has these emotionally intense drama and characters with dark secrets.

I can't wait for the finale episode of Innocent Love. I hope its a happy ending for Junya and Kanon.

I'm starting to watch Cat Street, which is another work by Kamio Yoko, the mangaka of Hana Yori Dango.

Last nite, I watched Anmitsu Hime SP 1.

I'm about halfway done Musashi. Wow it's a great series. The fight scenes and sceneries are excellent. So far it's one of the best swordplay dramas i've seen. Let's see how the second half holds up.

Just finished watching the last episode of Innocent Love. Ah...what a heartfelt and tearful ending. I just wished they had a SP to follow up. This is what happens when the drama story is good, you don't want it to end so quickly.

Cat Street is not quite as good as Kamio Yoko's Hana Yori Dango. The main actress in Cat Street has a very boring facial expresions and face. It's hard to consider her acting as acting. I don't know, I'm just not convinced by her 'acting'.

I'm watching Bloody Monday, so far, I've watched up to episode 5 and eh, it's such an intense drama with conspiracies and terrorism/evil organizations, it's harder, I guess to watch this drama in one sitting or many episodes at a time. But I do enjoy it. Kind of has that psychological warfare of Liar Game.

Are there any other recommendations for J-dramas?

I watched the SP. I liked the way they wrapped things up and yes, there were a few surprises.
    click to show/hide spoilers
Hiyama's near-death experience surprised me. It was mainly that I wasn't expecting it to happen to her of all people.
On the one hand I wanted Kuroda-sensei to stick around as the interns' mentor, but on the other I was glad he would be able to spend more time with his son and possibly resurrect his marriage. He stayed totally in character with his parting words to the interns...You guys are the absolute worst.
I would have liked to see a little something more on Saejima and her boyfriend, though.

I'm currently watching Bloody Monday, Triangle, Voice, and Q.E.D.

Yup, Code Blue SP is good.

I just finished watched Ninomiya Kazunari 2007 drama, called Haikei, Chichiue-sama. I have to say this is no2 fave for from all Nino's drama that I watched. no 1 will be Marathon SP ... I feel sorry for Ippei (his character here) and laugh on him at the same time. its an open-ending, which's I wasn't prepared.. grrr..

anyway, still struggling finding interest (and time) to watch Innocent Love, honestly Horikiti's acting just a bored. It's look the same with her other drama. oh well.

I forgot if I mention it in here, I finished Bloody Monday, and it's good. I'm glad I didn't watch Gokusen 3 because Falcon supposed to be there right? not as Falcon, of course. otherwise his image character will ruin me enjoying Bloody Monday (I'm very easily influence with the character from dorama that I watched, I know). That's why I really like Nino that able makes me forgot his other character and absorb in what ever character he's on.

I just finished watching Musashi 2003. Fantastic series. One of the best swordplay dramas and historical biography of Musashi. I'll probably watch Yoshitsune next.

You should watch http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Yamada_Taro_Monogatari or Stand Up! Then come back and report if you like either or not. I didn't like his Yamada Taro role too much. Guess I like his Ryusei no Kizuna role better.

Watching 33pun Tantei, a total opposite of the genius Kindaichi Shonen. Instead of a 180 IQ underachiever in school but a talented detective,Tsuyoshi starrs as the slow-witted sleuth who constantly comes up with incorrect theories, leading him to accuse the wrong person as the criminal. While viewers will be able to identify the real criminal right away, Tsuyoshi takes 33 minutes to solve the mystery.

I think Tsuyoshi did well as the talented detective back in Kindaichi Shonen, and now this idiot detective the 33 minutes detective.

It's time for a good laugh

I already watched both of them ... althought Yamada is a 'pretty story' but I like Nino's acting here, seems he's really a nice oniichan. As for Stand Up, hm.. I like him, but not the some of the cast (namely Norimiya).

I like Nino the best in Marathon than Haikei than Ryusei.

I saw episodes 4 of Voice last night, Eita look like Galileo to me ..

I don't like Yamada because Nino seem too much of a goodygoody and you know it doesn't seem real. Whereas in Ryusei, his character is a big brother, but he seems more human.

Yeah. I watched all the episodes available of Voice already and Eita is so cute. He's such a cutey, and I like his voice and the fact that he's tall. The rest of the cast are likeable. Yeah, he does that Galileo moment and figures things out before others do. Kiina with Kanno Miho is also like that, except Kiina is a show that claims to be a drama based on true cases.

I'm going to finish off episodes 10-12 of Love Revolution. Akiko is annoying.
I finished watching Hanayome wa Yukadoshi(or something) today.

I like Eita too, but am not enthralled with Voice. I find it quite superficial and repetitive with each "tearjerker" episode so far trying to make the victim into someone with only the greatest of intentions. Call me cynical, but give me a break.

So far I'm enjoying the mystery element of Triangle. The soundtrack is solid too. The main characters are a little flat, but maybe that's intentional to build the mystery.
