Thumbs up Movies with good twists (May contain spoilers!!!)

You know, films like The Usual Suspects, Frailty, Primal Fear, The 6th Sense, Memento, The Others, Donnie Darko, Oldboy, and A Tale of Two Sisters.

What are some of your favorites? I'm always looking for recommendations.

have not watched lately but if you're looking for some good ol' movies you might want to try--
for romance comedy--i like the wedding singer, my bf's wedding... for action... the die hard series, mission impossible (tom cruise), 007...
but then these are actually old movies-- i just couldn't remember more recently released films...

David Finch's films tend to have good twists:

*Se7en - 3/4 of the movie - i thought 'there's no 7th sin crime after John Doe turned himself in'. Was i wrong

*Fight Club - This movie was so twisted I didn't know what was happening until the revelation at the end! I tried to find loopholes how Brad Pitt's character is actually Edward Norton's mental persona...but the Director had everything covered!

*Final Analysis - You find out the real killer at the end

*Identity - in the same league as Fight Club. John Cusack has multiple split personalities.

*Secret Window - Johnny Depp is the psycho in this one. of course u wont know this until the end

It's been a while since I've watched 3-Iron so I may have forgotten how this movie has a twist. Mind Pming me the answer?

I just watched "Children of Men", starring Clive Owen and Julianne Moore. It was actually pretty good.

Luckily I've already seen all of the ones you've mentioned except Final Analysis, otherwise there'd be no point in my watching them for already revealed twists.

    • Pi
    • Jacob's Ladder (in all honesty, the whole movie is a twist, good luck figuring this one out)
    • Don't Look Now
    • Vertigo (it's a Hitchcock movie, of course there's a twist)
    • One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (love Jack's reaction to the twist)
    • 12 Monkeys (though you can see it coming)
    • Dark City

    The Prestige
All that's needed to say have been said, why say anything more? The man is drunk, why stay any longer?....

I dun find dat movie scary at all and it was MEANT to be the scariest at the time, well, they advertised it as such anyway.. and ever since, all korean horrors seem to claim the same thing -.-'''

Yeah, that's one of the best ones I'd seen..

There another one I've seen that's on a Motel setting, it was really good too, can't remember the name, but the twist was multiple personalities.. oh, it's called Identity..

last month I DL a UK movie call Severence. This movie is very funny. You know guys, there are these group of people who go to some resort somewere in eastern europe forest. When they arrive at the resort, its full of maniacs who butchered them, and the funny twist is their resort is actually just a walking distance like 200-500 meters to the other side of the forest. The "resort" that they actually go and get butchered is an asylum for serbian war criminal.

This is one of many funny twists of this movies and there are lots of very good slasher kill, however not for the faint hearted. Dicapitation, amputation by bear-trap, you name it they all have it.

I agree, the movie wasn't that scary although the ambiance was chilling. There was maybe one frightening moment that I recall.

I watched Saw 1, 2, and 3, all of which had twists. The ending of the first film was the most shocking while the twist in #3 was the most obvious. I'm looking forward to Saw 4 even though it's probably going to suck.

Havent seen many of such films but "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" is one of my favourites with its unique time sequence and narration.

French films starring Audrey Tautou, like "Amelie Poulain", "A very long engagement" and especially "He loves me, he loves me not" have very exciting and intriguing plots. "8 Femmes" aka "8 women" is another french film with very interesting and unexpected twists.

I thought the ending (or near ending?) of La Vita e Bella was somewhat of a surprise (regarding father and son). 6th sense was definitely O_o ... 3-Iron was unique, although it wasn't really a twist was it?

haven't been to the movies much

Oh, you mean finding out who the narrator was or what happened to the father? That's one of my absolute favorite films ever. It's so touching, funny, sad, but ultimately hopeful.
