Default How much better would Kiu Fung have been had he mastered the Yik Gun Ging?

    Speculation time:

Thanks to Ah Chu, Kiu Fung had possession of Shaolin's Yik Gun Ging for a time, but he was never able to take advantage of it because it was written in Sanskrit, a language that he couldn't read.

What if, however, somebody had translated the manual into Chinese for him? If Kiu Fung spent five years in isolation training in the Yik Gung Ging, how much more powerful would he have been when he emerged?

hmmm with the mastery of YJJ, prolly 75-80% better. YTZ only became crazy good using YJJ cuz of the freak incident.

and to make things more interesting since XF would now be blasting out stronger Dragon Palms like no tomorrow, instead of fighting just YTZ and MRF, u can throw in DCQ and DYQ in there. a good 4 vs 1. or put YTZ and JMZ against XF for a similar entertaining match i suppose.

I don't think Xiao Feng can master Yijinjing yet. He probably first needs to spend many years cultivating a peace of mind

You will need a Deus Ex Machina moment after Xiao Feng had stabbed himself with the arrow and is sitting there dying, the YJJ manual drops out of Duan Yu's robe and the wind blows the pages in rapid succession. In his semi-concious state where he has already cleared his mind and accepted death, he learns the YJJ.

Either that or have Ah Zhi's worm bite him in the butt during the earlier chapters. Then we'll get to see Ice Poison Dragon Palms.

Actually, a more faithful Deus Ex Machina moment would be a literal one: the world freezes (complete with icy effects), and the gods descend from above to assign the NEW fate to the warrior. After that, Xiao Feng knows Yijinjing.

Hey, the novel isn't called Demi-Gods Semi-Devils for nothin'.

Hey, the novel isn't called Demi-Gods Semi-Devils for nothin'.
Hmm, what a GREAT idea! After that, he jumps onto the ascending cloud as the Gods return to heaven, demanding that the Jade Emperor allow him to re-unite with Ah Zhu's soul. The Jade Emperor tells him to wait while he discusses the issue with Yen Lo Wang.

While waiting, Xiao Feng drinks 1000 Jin of Heavenly Wine and while slightly intoxicated and hungry, eats the Peaches of Immortality from the Western Dowager Goddess as well as Lao Zi's Invincibility Pills, buffing him up even more.

After another 108,000 Jin of Heavenly Wine, the Jade Emperor finally comes back to him and says he can't meet Ah Zhu again due to a technicality in the heavenly laws. Xiao Feng gets mad and starts brawling with the Heavenly Guards. The Jade Emperor sends in the Celestial Army of 100,000 warriors but they all get blown up by a single Kang Long Bu Hui (evolved form of Kang Long You Hui).

Nezha, Erlang Shen and the 4 Heavenly Kings arrive to battle him to no avail, the Jade Emperor calls up the Indian Embassy and help arrives in the form of Hanuman, Kali and Ganesh. The Egyptian Consulate also sends help in the form of Anubis, Horus and Set while the Greek High Commision sends in Heracles and Achilles.

The 15 of them battle all day long, shaking the foundations of heaven. The hitherto unheard of release of cosmic energies draw the attention of the Decepticons, who arrive in an attempt to grab more energon cubes while the Silver Surfer reports the matter to Galactus the World Eater.

I'll let Ken take it from here...

The Anti-Monitor unleashes a flood of antimatter into the multiverse. Everything is wiped out, everyone dies.

A new big bang reboots the universe and history is rewritten.

    A Bigger Bang????? OMG!!!!!

From that time on, according to www.wikipedia.org things will go on as follows:

    1. The Planck epoch: 10^-43 second: Little is known about this epoch, although different theories make different predictions.

    2. The Grand Unification Epoch: 10^-33 second: As the universe expands and cools from the Planck epoch, gravity begins to separate from the fundamental gauge interactions: electromagnetism and the strong and weak nuclear forces. Physics at this scale may be described by a grand unified theory in which the gauge group of the Standard Model is embedded in a much larger group, which is broken to produce the observed forces of nature. Eventually, the grand unification is broken as the strong nuclear force separates from the electroweak force. This should produce magnetic monopoles.

Yang Guo & Zhou Botong said in Chapters 6, 11 & 25 of ROCH:
    - 这道姑也算得美了,只是还不及桃花岛郭伯母,更加不及我姑姑。
    - 原来郭伯母竟是这般美貌,小时候我却不觉得。
    - 龙姑娘,我瞧你品貌才智,和那小黄蓉不相上下,武功也跟她差不离。

So...twisting the topic back on track nearly seven years later, just how much would Kiu Fung's martial arts improve if, against all odds, he somehow mastered the Yik Gun Ging on top of his existing martial arts? Would he be in Hui Juk's class? Janitor Monk's class?

Hrm, the only problem is that "mastering" one of these Shaolin inner arts is semantically impossible since it's been said that you can always get better/stronger as your understanding and enlightenment and such grows. It's probably a bit easier to say you mastered one of the more external type skills since you can have some act you can define like "If you can poke a hole through 8 blocks of wood you've mastered XXX".

As a completely random guess, I'd imagine if he mastered Yjinjing he'd be on Duan Yu level but still behind Xu Zhu. Even his talents probably can't compensate for hundreds of years of the most advanced arts in the world.

There is a theory that I find plausible going around in these forums. Jiumozhi mastered 7 volumes out of 8 of xiao wutiangong within 3 years. Many members considered that he gained a boost equivalent to what ROCH Greats experienced during the 16 years separation, meaning doubling his power.

Mastering YYJ should be more powerful than mastering 7/8 of XWTG. So Xiao Feng could end up being at least twice as powerful as before.

I believe mastery of YJJ would bring XF to the standards of WYZ, TSTL and LQS.

If this was a RPG, he should be 30-50% more powerful.

But this is JY and you need to bend technicalities to plot rules. So YJJ or not, he still needs to have some threat from MYF and YTZ and you end up back to square one.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't JMZ and MRB rated YJJ very highly?

Personally, I feel that YTZ never did brought YJJ to its full potential. After all, YTZ was a mediocre fighter who had no guidance from anyone. He was more interested in chasing after Purple's skirt than honing his martial arts. If XF learnt YJJ, even without the ice worm, I am pretty sure the improvement could be around the same magnitude (but definitely not in the same effect of being immune to poison).

XF with YJJ would easily reach the level of WYZ, TSTL and LQS; possibly surpassing them marginally.

YJJ in JY universe is a martial arts based on Buddhist, based on Sweeper monk explaination, the practicioner need to used Buddhist way to master it, otherwise he will only be the second generation of MRB, XYS and also JMZ, harmed themslelf to practice in the wrong way for many years. MRB, XYS and also JMZ although practicing so many high class Shaolin martial arts for decades, didn't manage to be much superior than QF.

QF even though he is an incredible talented warrior, still not used Buddhist way to practice his martial arts. Heroes Gathering Manor slavery is a proof. Xu Zhu on the other way is more suitable to practice this.

In my humble opinion, QF is more suitable to practice non - Buddhist martial arts such as 9 Yin to boost his internals.
