Should we switch to Vista or continue using Win XP?

lol.. I think thats up to individuals to decide. if you got the extra $, go ahead and change, if not, stick to XP. XP is still working fine with updates and lessers bugs and viruses.Originally Posted by Extremer88
If you switch to Vista now, you may be more prone to bugs and viruses.
Stay. My friend got the Ultimate version for 200 bucks and the voice command system was nothing spectacular.
The 'experts' seem to agree that upgrading to Vista is not worthwhile unless your computer is almost new with the latest cpu technology.
If you like new technology or wants to be the first kid with the latest and greatest - then upgrade to Vista (if your hardware can cope with the resource requirements). At the moment, applications and games run slower on Vista than XP because the drivers and codes needs to be optimized for Vista.
i've been using Vista since November and so far I have no problems with the OS. it's the most stable OS from Microsoft. hasn't crashed on me once. It appears to be faster if you routinely open common applications (Vista has better cache technology that adapts to your usage habit); and its the prettiest OS to date from MS with the aero glass interface, and 3D icons and windows.

I'm sticking to XP because Vista could kill my ipod!!B/c their not compatible

In a few years time I might be using Vista.
But if by then Linux had come out with a new OS that's compatible with games, I'm going to totally dump Microsoft for Linux.
I don't know enough about vista apart from the voice thing and 3D navigation which looks really cool. but i'm so used to using xp and it does the job fine so I won't switch just yet.
When I saw the recommended system needed to run vista I almost fell over!
Have you learned to love one another?

the majority of games uses DirectX API for games development. In fact your favourite game is created using DirectX.
Microsoft is not going to give access to Linux when they have a stake in the games industry with their PC/Xbox games division. The games developers will have to port their games to Linux OpenGL API which isn't worth the cost and time.

That's not logical at all. How can XP can't perfom anymore? Is there a time bomb attached to every OS?Originally Posted by SkyKing

Vista has been such a failure, I wonder how much money Microsoft has sunk on this ship.
"A girl asked me if she should spent money to change the way she look, I told her that she should use it to change her personality instead."
It will become another MS success when business adopts it in another year or so. It's the IT people who decide these things.Originally Posted by levendis d'orange

Yes, but IT Departments decide when an change in operating system will occur in a business. It's always after 1 or two years before it happens. The idea is to let the 'early birds' find all the 'bugs'.Originally Posted by NetDriftr
lol, I'm still using Windows 2000 up until now, no problem at all... still downloading gigs and gigs of stuff, installing new software and apps or games without problem, for me buy new one when current cannot keep-up with technology....
