My vote goes to Pele. Oh wait he's not on the list.

I'm neither into soccer but I know that David Beckham is not the best soccer player in the world, but he is the most popular in the world because he is Anglo-Saxon, good looking and has a famous wife.

well, based on their recent performances, my vote goes to Cristiano Ronaldo. He has been a massive influence for the success of Manchester United until now. Scoring, at least, 17 goals, many assists, tricks - tricks and more tricks. These all make him more interesting to watch on the field.

Hardly a competition considering one's bald/closely shaven and the other is cute (when he smiles with his teeth protruding) at best...

    Right now - C Ronaldo.

It'd have been better putting Didier Drogba in the list rather than Henry. Henry been far from his best this season. He's been quite unlucky with injuries too. Whereas Drogba is having a stellar season - he and Ronaldo are in close contention for the Player of the Year award.

you mean "soccer player"? NONE! Ronaldo sucks now! Like last time he versed Australia, OMG he tripped so many times... nah, hes getting old.

I reckon Tim cahill . or David Beckham

Drogba had to prove in the next few seasons, that he can be the very best. (he's world-class, but only for this season at the moment) Let's see whether he can retain his African footballer of the year award next season, and go up one level
and win the African nations cup for Ivory Coast.

For Henry, I really hope to see him come back and dominate the Premiership next season.

Actually Henry is quite good-looking. And Ronaldinho has that x-factor, I would say because of his charisma.

Same goes for C Ronaldo though. That's what I meant by "right now", ie on current form.

So either Drogba should have made the list (current form) or neither C Ronaldo shouldn't be there (proven greatness).

    He means "footballer".

You're confusing Ronaldo the Brazillian and Cristiano Ronaldo the Portugese. Two completely different players.

I reckon Tim cahill . or David Beckham
    You've got to be joking.

I think overall, Eto'o will make it very hard for Drogba to win it again next year. Just to show the difference Eto'o makes for Barcelona:

    When Eto'o starts: 8 6-2-0 20pts (out of 24) : 83% of available points won
    When he doesn't: 21 10-6-5 36pts (out of 63) : 57% of available points won

Best footballer in the world changes all the time, I think Ronaldhino was the best player in the world for the past years, and Zidane has also been amongst the best.

Right now though, I believe C. Ronaldo and Kaka are the best players in the world. Just like Kaka is the key player for AC Milan, C.Ronaldo is the same for Man Utd. He is in tremendous form right now and the two can only improve. Different playing styles, but equally effective.

I don't get the points thing. Care to explain?

No doubt Eto'o is a hugely influencial player. Pity about the injuries but then these things do happen. We'll see how he performs next season.

Also, hard for Drogba to win what? The African Player of the Year?
