SPCNET Singing Competition

I know a number of forums have online singing competitions for members so I wonder if SPCNET would be interested in having one too.

I am 100% willing to host one

I did mention before that you'd be unfortunate to have to listen to my own voice, BUT there are members here who i KNOW can sing really well, and others who I am very eager to hear sing.

The format would basically be like what I had in the Battle Royale with divisions (hoping there's that many interested...) We would then vote for a top 6 or 8 etc to have in the finals and the winner will be crowned ... i'll think of a name later


You are at liberty to enter anonymously if you wish.

I will also post a list here of people who have volunteered to enter
Your names will be on the list, but i will not identify who each recording belongs to.

Actually, this list is for people that expressed interest in the comp. If you don't plan on entering, please let me know.

I'm hoping that we'll have a lot of entries and that this will be a fun event for the forum in general.


Rules for entering

1) Record your singing. You may do this with or without background music. We will have 2 separate divisions.

Songs should be partial with a maximum file size of 2.5mb
They may be in any language.

2) Send these entries to me at [email protected]

3) These will be posted according to the division ANONYMOUSLY.

4) Members will vote for their favourites and have a great time.

Members who have joined in April 2007 will unfortunately not be able to vote. This is to ensure that unlike the battle royale, there will not be username1, username2... username20.

5) The top entries from each group will enter a final round and submit a SECOND song.

6) The final vote will be carried out and the winner will receive a $20 voucher courtesy of SPCNET

Final date for submission is 9:00pm PACIFIC TIME -8:00 Monday 16th April 2007 and polling will begin once all entries are uploaded.


Note: You are allowed to enter one song in each division. That is, one a cappella and one with background music.

I'd rather not because i can't sing in tune. I'm a little better than LYF singing live (i hope).

ur singing will be fine. LYF got harsh criticism cause she is actually getting paid to sing. my singing is probably worst than every1 elses. i never had any singing class or training, i only sing when i shower

Now, where are all the singers hiding? People always make comments about how they like to sing in the shower, at Karaoke... where are they now?

do we want background music or not?

it is easier to sing in tune with background music but harder for people to record. I am willing to search for background music if you cannot find any.

Otherwise, we go with the option of a cappella.

i can't really offer you a prize, unfortunately. You can have the title of SPCNET's greatest singer.

anonymous or not, im not actually the type who'd enjoy karaoke. i dont like singing, fullstop

Doing this anonymous would attract more ppl, i guess. I think you dont have to worry about ppl not joining, you get so many responses already!
