    full song or partial song?

    karaoke or a capella?

acapella. so pple dont get drown out.

    full song or partial song?

partial song, as long as it's over a certain length? because if it's a full song, how many times do they sing the chorus.

    thanks for entering!

I'm putting this again in the first post, but songs of any language. Obviously, play to your strengths- it's hard to sing certain unfamiliar languages.

At the moment, i'm not sure about background music or not. More feedback?

It means no accompaniment. much harder because it's easier to go off tune, BUT it's easier to record.

U should allow both. Some people are more used to singing without music, some the opposite. If they have a backing track , then its easier.

it is easier to sing in tune with background music but harder for people to record. I am willing to search for background music if you cannot find any.

Otherwise, we go with the option of a cappella.
acappella's great!! love it.. will be easier to tell who can or cannot sing.. haha.. and it's easier to record anyway.. Ah, this is exciting!! I love listening to other people singing..

er no.. I can't sing for life's sake.. plus recording sometimes distort the quality of the sound thus making my voice sound even WORSE. so nope, i'll pass.. I'll be a keen voter though..

I'm trying to find the musical background of one of the songs: In my life (John Lennon), All you need is love/Let it be (Paul Mc Cartney), A Lover's Concerto (aka Minuet in G Major),

You might want to make two singing categories, as some people really don't have access to BGM accompaniment. Some people don't mind singing a capella, while some will completely lose their key if they have no background music to keep them in pitch.

If you have audacity, it's not hard to record yourself with background music, as you can play one track, record one, and merge them after balancing volume here and there.

Some albums have background music tracks - Li Shengjie's "Shou Fang Kai" album, for example, has his two main songs in background mode. Choice of song is most likely going to be limited to what music can be found, though.

    I voted 'either'

Its pretty hard to find backing tracks online, especially the 'not as popular' songs. Depending where you live, In australia, I once used
http://www.cdyastuff.com for my backing tracks. they are only 10 AUS for one backing track, and small delievery fee. I used this website when I did concerts, so its quite good. If not, search on the net for some backing track websites; or even get a pianist and try their best to play by ear.
