Actually there's way too many threads in this part of the forum. More than 100 pages, i think.

And it is pretty difficult to do a good search for threads.

Any thoughts on mass prunes? or consolidation of threads?

Considering that years ago, the forum as a whole petitioned SC to make an exception for this forum to allow a larger archive for old threads than the other forums have, probably not.

Besides, as sarakoth has recently been proving, you never know when somebody is going to breathe new life into old threads. Better to build upon whatever we have than start from scratch again.
