To fight fair or not fight fair in wulin.

The standard cliche' about wuxia is that heroes fight fairly and honorably, but villains often don't. Actually, however, isn't it or shouldn't it be somewhat more complex than that? Are heroes really not allowed to cheat sometimes to defend themselves or save innocents?

Wulin is a dangerous place, full of powerful and unscrupulous people who think nothing of using dishonorable methods to achieve their goals. In light of this, aren't heroes who insist on fighting honorably going to be at a disadvantage in almost all cases? Furthermore, what if the insistence on fighting honorably causes the hero to fail to save innocents that he *could* have saved in only he had been willing to compromise his ethics a bit and resort to cheating?

WXB never fought fairly in any of his so called fights. He cheats his way through everything and manages to accomplish a few good deeds along the way. I wouldn't even call it cheating if he uses his brains to win...in battle, everything counts. I don't think even LHC was fair in all of his fights either.

Its not fair when you had a lucky 2-5 years learning 9 Yang/Yin/Xiang Long Da Fa etc etc and the other poor sod only has 40 years of hard training in some crap kung fu.

Just follow the motto the orthodox sects like to use when fighting unorthodox sects.

"We don't need to talk honour when dealing with heretic sect people like you".
