i did not notice the sound balancing problem, then when i was alone i put it through my speakers and noticed it, my speakers are the T3100...So i figure if mine sound like this, that means everyone else who paid less for their speakers would sound like this too haha. oh well, live and learn.

i listened to all the entries on my home theatre sound system and noticed some of recording flaws in the entries. i mentioned this to 0-0-0 and she thought there was nothing wrong. i thought she's tone deaf or something hehhe

the songs from Sugar and MrIllusion were filtered by me to remove hissing, pops and clicks using Audition.. except these filters, what you hear is the real deal..

It's time to come clean, since it looks like it won't affect the voting results anyway. I did entry number 1.

I only wish I sound like Eason. I know I don't. My voice is no where as rich as his, but I don't think I am offkey. If I am offkey, I am sorry. I've done this song a number of times during karaoke outings, and no one has ever mentioned that I am offkey so I don't know. I sang along the original before I recorded.

Let me go home tonight and recheck.

i hope i didn't come across as offensive, i just thought this song didn't suit you as well as your previous entry. IMO, this song doesn't suit your voice regardless if I compared u to Cass Pang, Hacken Lee or Eason Chan (each had their version of your song).

i'm not sure you understand what the meaning of tone deaf is.

What you're describing is simply a lack of interest in perfection. Not everyone has access to proper editing software and even if they did, they might not be able to use it properly. There are also some things you cannot fix with the software such as the amplitude problem in AC#3.

u need to run filters thru an audio program. i used Adobe Audition2.
i tried to fix the amplitude problem in your song, but it was too hard and require greater sound recording knowledge that i dont have. Warlock maybe able to do it...

i understand it gets unrealistic if all comments posted are positive n wud make the performers slack and not improve...but i must say that i think criticisms may be done in a less-offensive way...i ma not pin-pointing anyone...just in general...as from what i hav seen in the preliminary round, not all comments r positive too, just that criticisms were stated in a less-offensive manner...

I just want to point out that pemberly is being very bias for dissing #1 only while the other singers also have their weaknesses.

as i stated before my comments are MY OPINION. and opinion, by definition is biased, and an unbiased view would be the absolute truth, which it was not. i wrote my down my first impressions after hearing the songs once, and the reason why i only had negative comments about the first entry was because, honestly, i didn't like any aspect of it. the high notes were cringe inducing and the song was out of his range. i didn't like his tone, and i thought it was a bad song choice. these were my honest to God gut reactions when i first heard the song, and i'm sorry i felt that way, but it's my opinion and i'm free to express it. like i said before, i'm no expert, and my opinion isn't worth much, but i'm not going to lie and sugarcoat it. i find no reason not to be honest.

as to why i had only positive comments about the other two songs, it's the same reason. those were my first gut reactions.

Simon Cowell is 'mean judge' of American Idol who gives out unapologetic (supposely honest) and sometimes very hurtful comments to the idols. Honestly, I don't think he's really honest. I think he uses his comments to influence the outcome of the votes.

Please keep in mind that many of the contestants are entering for fun, and very few would have any vocal training. We criticise people like Liu Yi Fei for being a bad singer because you expect better after a year of vocal training, but the contestants here are just entering for fun. Please don't post comments like "she's so off tune, even I could do better. She must be tone deaf." Please be nice with your comments, especially those who were too chicken to enter themselves.
