Sorry, i just HAD to post this because i'm absolutely absolutely horrified.

SHE's new song Zhong Guo Hua 中国话 has to be the one of the worst butchering of the chinese language i've heard for a long time by a chinese person. I think they were attempting to rid their taiwanese accent by imitating a Beijing accent.

BEIJING ACCENTS DO NOT F*N SOUND LIKE THAT. IT'S LIKE A MOCKERY OF THE CHINESE LANGUAGE AND THE BEIJING ACCENTS.

Alternatively, it could just be that they think it's cool to mispronounce words. However, judging by the way they said "bian dan kuaer" it's a total sendup of the beijing accent or an exaggeration to the point that it sounds retarded. SHE, YOU ARE RETARDED.

I AM SO OUTRAGED AND YOU CAN PROBABLY TELL BECAUSE I DON'T USUALLY SWEAR.

It's just ermm a song. Neither does the song's lyrics offend any Chinese culture, person nor any historic events. I'm Not a fan of them, I'm just stating my point of view, pls don't be angry with me for not angrying with u hehe.

it's not the lyrics i'm annoyed about, it's the pronunciation.

I listened to this song before and it could be just me, but I have no problem with this song. Since, S.H.E. is a Taiwan female singing group and has their own Taiwan singing style. So, it wouldn't fully have that Beijing Accent expectations; since both Taiwan and China singers has two different singing styles. In my opinion, Mainland China singers has that strong nationalism in their songs, while Taiwan singers has any singing style.

argh... i don't think anyone understands the way they exaggerated the beijing accent. It sounds SO TERRIBLE. WE DO NOT SOUND LIKE THAT. This is the type of song that makes people think that beijing people can't speak understandable chinese.

SHE should stick to their horrible taiwanese pronunciation and stop sending up the beijing one when they sound 50x worse.

you can go try and say it and then you might realise that beijing accent or not, those words do not sound like that.

I understand the frustrations, actually I get kinda frustrated when someone who is non-English speaker and butchered a Grammy award English songs. Now that is frustrating, no only you don't understand, besides its harlious.

As noted, just on the differences in all Chinese singing styles and people should stick to their own singing style and try not mimicing anyone, etc., unless it is on key with superb accuracy. For example, all the singing spcnet competitors has turned the original song into their own singing style No complaints here.

Actually, on skype I did managed to hear what "Beijinger's" sounded like, you are correct on that it does not sound the same. Also, both Taiwan/ Mainland China has different way of thinking. Try to stand out and be unique.

yea, i'm referring to the "spoken" bit, mainly the beginning of the song and when it comes back later.

the singing is normal because they've ditched the accent then.

Yeah, that's the one, oh this one is so hard. I remembered one day at church with an older guy and I was trying to try and pronounce it, as fast as you can. As always, I was letting the older gentlemen to go first. But, instisted for me to go first, so I took a shot at it.

As you mentioned about not used to the bad Beijing pronouncing. Might as well changed "Zhong Guo Hua" into "Pu Tong Hua", I think people would not complain as much, if the name was changed.

Hmm I listened to it and did not notice the pronounciations and lyrics. I usually don't put in effort to, unfortunately... so... maybe that's why the song sounds good to me. *hides from flying daggers*

The rap part was really strange, but the singing part was actually nice. I'm not from Beijing, but yeah, of course it's not a good accent, their Taiwanese accent is SO strong.

However, don't kill me 0-0-0, but I never liked the Beijing accent..it sounds a bit..'lazy' to me, almost in a sense like the Texas drawl.
