Default Differences between our world and wuxia

One of the fundamental differences is that traditional Chinese medicine (qi, meridians, accupoints) is factual.

    Are there any others?

I don't understand - if it's factual as per wuxia, why is it a difference?

You might want to do some research before saying something like that.

If you fall down a cliff, you die. How's that for a difference.

No modern human being can possibly hope to thrust a delicate blade 1 foot deep into a fine granite pole.

I was talking about FUNDAMENTAL differences only.

Qi cultivation and manipulation isn't really too factual in the real world.

All I said was that ALL aspects of traditional Chinese medicinal beliefs are true in the wuxia world.
However, many aspects aren't true in the real world.

you have to earn a living in real life...

you have to go to court, pay a fine, or get arrested when fights break out at motels/hotels/restaurants breaking all the furniture

You can't go for months on end without a shower and wearing the same clothes without having people giving you weird looks no matter how famous you are.

Don't agree with Sarakoth, because in fact, TCM is factual.
The fact is the so-called morden medicine is the one that is unfactual.
So far, western medicitation can't even cure the common cold.
While TCM could cure the Flu in less then 3 days.
PS: I was a Combat Medic in camp, and had read many things on TCM myself.

I meant that TCM is ridiculously exaggerated in wuxia such as the feats produced by qi cultivation, saving people that are apparently dead, etc.

Dude, this is fiction, exaggeration is the norms.
But TCM is factual, even though it is far from the WuXia version.

There are many differences between our world and wuxia.

One main difference is that you get much more freedom in the wuxia world.

I agree with you . there are many different between our world and wuxia. But it also has something that we can know the culture of our Chinese tradition.
Maybe a lot of plots is not true,we can image freely. We can satisfied with something which has not happened in real world ,but in wuxia.'s world.

I agree with you, because traditional Chinese medicine has long history and sometimes it can cure many diseases that Western medicine can not heal. However, Wuxia in some movies or books may exaggerate the truth, but Wuxia do exist.

In the real world, I think it is impossible for us to see people flying here and there in the forest or in between bamboos. Also, we might get shocked if we see a person running on the surface of the water instead of taking a boat when crossing a river.
