which is the worst UNFAITHFUL (over 30% untrue) adaption of wuxia series?

i personally think the 2000 duke of mount deer was pretty bad. dicky cheung basically portrayed dicky cheung, not wai siu bao. and the princess dying and WXB learning kung fu... what do u guys think?

Wu Lin Wai Shi 2000/2001, the Rebecca wang version. I heard that one is way off...
The TVB version of Xiao Li Fei Dao made in 95 with Eddie Kwan. Boy was that bad...

Wu Lin Wai Shi is about 20-30% accurate i think. Huang Hai Bing is nevertheless very hot.

I haven't seen that version of XLFD, but i recall the 2nd half of Taiwan's Vincent version being completely made up, so that's at least 50% inaccurate, and i recall quite a lot of modifications in the first half anyway, so i'm leaning towards 30% accurate as well there.

HSDS 00 movie version was also adapted a lot. From memory, they changed things like Zhao Min's three wishes?

Chu Liu Xiang 07 looks like another case of XLN in black, with CLX in black. I doubt it will be butchered too badly though.

Which novel? Do you mean Jue Da SHuang Jiao? If so, than the famous writer GU Long did. He passed away in 1985 so everyone messes with his stories and he can't do anything about it. Oh yea, the 2001 CLH was BIG nightmare too. That original story was also written by Gu Long. I heard they changed the name of the sects and characters in there too. I feel bad for GL to pass away so young and can't defend the rights to his novels...

would have to be dicky's version of DOMD...i found that making WXB a martial artist and making just stupid changes was just...urgh!! Dicky plays the same type of character in every series....his style is always the same....its getting quite boring

I agree...theres the Taiwanese DGSD with Austin Wai and Eddie Kwan that was horribly adapted. Eddie Kwan was a mixture of Duan Yu and Xu Zhu, and 2nd evil became MRF's real mother.

It seems any adaptation that features Dicky Cheung is pretty much butchered. Dicky's acting is just not as it used to be in the 90s. And the scriptwriters for both adaptations he was in were horrible. Parts of DOMD were purposely made so that you'd feel sorry for WXB esp with the princess dying and the brothel life with his mom and him being tortured and made fools of.

Some more horrible stuff about that adaptation:

Madame Ma's role was completely watered down and wasn't so important. So the reason XF was framed and stuff was eh? I didn't know why until I watched TVB's 1996 adaptation.

TSDL and WYY came to this mansion where this old guy who uses two sabers mentioned XLN and YG. Yes, way to early for XLN and YG to exist.

A Zhu and A Zi were played by the same actress.
