My friends bought me a Starbucks cheesecake once, and then I read that it was like 700 calories in ONE slice. So I highly doubt your 100 calorie estimate is correct.

I think I gain weight, just not easily lol. I'm also a really hyper person so I probably burn half my calories just through jaw movements.

OMG I HATE THAT. Jennie I totally empathise! The other day I was eating a biscotti - it's not like it was monkey brain or anything. And everyone was asking "What the hell are you eating?" I was like, "What planet are you from? Have you ever heard of a biscotti??"

Although I must say, your urge to spit in people's eyes is rather unique. I don't think I would do that. Usually I'm a nonviolent person 0=) and my words suffice

Aww pem, if everyone preferred your box cakes over professionally-made cakes, then I think places like the Cheesecake Factory would go out of business! However, since you've made cheesecake before, I'm curious as to how difficult it is (to do well, of course). I think I'm going to make a cheesecake for a special person sometime.

As for the cream cheese estimate, I'd say at least a pound?
i typed in "cheese cake calorie" in google and that pop out, i don't eat cheese cake, i wouldn't know.

Speaking of cheescake and desserts, has anyone ever tried trifles?

It's an English dessert, usually made with layers of fruit, angel food cake, and a pudding/whipped topping mixture.

    One made with brownies:

If you've never tried one you're really missing out! ^.^

i forgot if it was 6 or 8 blocks. more than a pound. for one dinky cheesecake. plus butter, and whatever flavor you're using, ie chocolate, caramel, etc. i made a lemon cheesecake, so it wasn't as bad, but just looking at all that cream cheese was physically making me sick. isn't just a little cream cheese that you use to spread on your bagel like 100 calories? with a cheesecake, you're basically eating gobs and gobs of cream cheese.

6 - 8 blocks?! Wow that must have been one massive cheesecake! All the cheesecakes I've made have been 1.5 - 2 lbs (3 - 4 packs) of cream cheese.

Hmmmm....one of the first cakes I ever made was a cheesecake cuz I didn't know they were supposedly hard to make. I actually didn't find it too hard, just time consuming. The hardest part is not getting the crack down the middle.

If you're looking for a cheesecake recipe for your special someone, I know an AMAZING Irish Cream Chocolate Cheesecake recipe.... oh my... Bailey's Irish Cream with silky dark chocolate. The richness of the cream cheese is enhanced by the deep flavour of the dark chocolate and perfectly complimented by the hint of Bailey's. *swoons*

As a side note, tiramisu is much easier to make and equally impressive.

So on top of the 3 - 4 lbs of cream cheese, you also have the whipping cream in there to give it its nice, deceivingly light mousse texture.

LOL, I'd be fooling myself if I said tiramisu was healthy. 8 egg yolks, sugar, and whipping cream, plus the lady fingers, espresso, and Kahlua. Mmmmm........
But yes, go the store bought lady fingers route. Much easier and it doesn't really make a difference in taste.

no whipped cream. you whip the cream cheese until it's light and fluffy, add some bakers flour, some other ingredients like sugar and lemon, then bake.

O_O i don't put egg yolks in my tiramisu....or kahlua. you're too fancy for me. i use mascarpone and instant espresso.

Really? That's neat. I've never made any mousse-like dessert that didn't use either whipped cream or gelatin. Aside from the artery-clogging aspect, did your lemon mousse cheesecake turn out tasting good? I might be interested in the recipe.

Just a couple of tablespoons of Kahlua for the flavor. Too much is overpowering. The original recipe actually calls for 1/2 Kahlua and 1/2 espresso. Bleh!
How could I forget mascarpone, probably the most important ingredient in the recipe?

Default Yeo's Ice Green Tea Drink - Brewed with Jasmine Tea

One of my favorite drinks. It is very refreshing and I'm guessing it's good for you since it's tea. I'd rather have one of these than your guy's fatty cheesecake or Starbuck's drink. This is only 75 cents, a lot cheaper than your $5 dollar cheesecake or Starbucks drink.

yeah, it tasted great! maybe because it was so artery clogging. i made it for my sister to bring into her french class. her teacher kept eating it, and my sister was thinking about all that cream cheese she's shoveling in her mouth. i have the recipe somewhere in a cook book.

my sister is now known as the girl who brings in good cakes now, because this year i made her a flourless chocolate raspberry mousse cake. other kids in her french class bring in things like bread and cheese. -__- the chocolate cake i think tasted much richer, even though it was relatively healthier.

i actually go out for crepes all the time. much easier to have someone make it for you and clean up after you're done. i like dessert crepes with nutella, strawberries, and bananas, but i can never finish a whole one. it's too filling.

I actually just like it plain. I sprinkle sugar on the crepe, roll it up and eat it.
