    it's call animated gif.
    here's how you do it

make a frame size (the size on your alvetar thingy)

select your picture, and crop them to that size, crop/resize w/e u have to do to get to the size and the content that you want.

insert that into the time line to tell it how long you want each picture to display before it changes to the other one, there's should also be simple effects when it changes images if you wanna add it in.

save as .gif and that should be it, pretty simple. i use adobe image ready to do it too.

OR: you just save her alvatar, upload it somewhere that allows hot link (or this own forum) and link it to your own alvatar, done.

i think you did "replace" as oppose to "insert".

I can't seem to save the file as gif after I've put the images together with imageready, anymore. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

with imageready, you don't do 'save as'.

    Do this:
File Menu> Save Optimized As>...(this is where you will find the gif format)

Ok go to Windows Menu>Optimize, you will see that pallette in the box which also has the Info and Layer Comps pallette. Now in the format drop down box, choose gif. Then save optimized...

Oh and here's another free tip. If you don't know how to do something, the easiest way is to google the answer.
i.e. For your question you could've gone onto google or any other search engine and entered 'saving gif files in imageready' and the answer would appear. And you don't need to post on any forums, you don't need to wait for replies, you don't even need to say thank you to anyone since some poor fool would've already had a similar problem and asked and some other fool would've posted the answer somewhere, all you need to do is search, read and thats it. Simple and efficient, no need to waste time socializing to get the answer.
It's just like magic...you do like magic don't you? Or perhaps magic would be way out of your league...
