Thumbs down Review : If you are in love, do it like them.

Title : If you are in love, do it like them.
Starring : Lee Hyo Ri :
    Lee Dong Gun :
Synopsis : A terminally ill no-name singer(Lee Hyo Ri) and a terminally ill gangster(Lee Dong Gun) who met each other as patients in hospital run-off and make their final journey together before their ends.

Review : Infamous for being a banned drama in Korea(Too much Lee Hyo Ri promotion and too much PPL ads) after single airing, If you are in love, do it like them is essentially a 2 hour long(4 hour long in Japanese version) Lee Hyo Ri showcase drama produced to prove she could act at the cost of $4 million. Why would Lee Hyo Ri's management firm would go this extreme to promote her as an actress? Because her debut drama series, "The Three-Leaf Clover", bombed so bad that she was essentially written off as an actress for good. Since her former singing mate, Sung Yuri, too were laughed at in the beginning but eventually succeeded as a serious actress(Skeptics need to see The Snow Queen), Lee Hyo Ri's management firm firmly believes they too could turn Lee Hyo Ri into a marketable actress.

Unfortunately, Lee Hyo Ri's second attempt in acting fails yet again. Purhaps it is not Lee Hyo Ri's acting ability, however imperfect it maybe, that is in question, but the "sinister" motivation behind the drama that really doomed this drama. The entire plot line is specifically created to constantly remind us of the superstar Lee Hyo Ri and her reality-show persona that people are familiar with, not for the sake of story-telling. People are disgusted with the evil intention of this drama, and Lee Hyo Ri gets hated because people hate the drama. So Lee Hyo Ri gets written off as an actress again, but her management firm will keep trying. I don't understand why Lee Dong Gun chose to do this drama, since he is doing a troubled character once again after "Smile Again". Like Smile Again, his character is a thrown-in to support and make the older lead actress look good and has no significance of his own. Lee Dong Gun fans will cry after watching this drama.

This drama is completely boring. I don't recommend it to anyone. The only thing I like are the songs and Lee Hyori. Other than that ... the storyline isn't fixed; not strong enough.
    - currently watching: Fashion King, Rooftop Prince, Love Rain, and Equator Man-
    - recent favorite drama: The Princess's Man
