    Default Healthy Food

i'm planning a vacation and i'm having trouble finding places to eat with healthy food. correction, i'm having trouble finding places that aren't 20 bucks for a salad. expensive restaurants always have healthy and delicious salads and grilled options. but what if i'm poor/cheap? and buying groceries and cooking isn't really an option, because i don't think the hotel management would like me starting fires in the room.

Where are you going for vacation? I think the local restaurants should be fairly cheaper than ordering from the hotel.

i'm going to las vegas, land of buffets and fast food. i asked a friend who lives there, who was briefly a vegetarian, if there's any place healthy i can eat. his response: no. kfc is the closest thing to healthy bc they use "real" chicken.

WTH! Las Vegas has CHEAP buffets! And you can pick and choose which kind of food you want to eat. They have salad bars and stuff!

but i don't want to go to a buffet every single meal. even if i do go to the salad bars, all the nice aromas wafting towards me are tempting!! and since it won't cost me any extra to gorge on fatty foods, i might come back 20 lbs heavier. -_-

plus, even if the buffets are cheap, they're still not as cheap as grabbing a wrap or a quick salad somewhere for 5 bucks.

Dancing on poles will shake off that 20 lbs in no time.

Okay.......... ummmm go the grocery store pick up a bag of packaged salad and eat it in your room. If you're on vacation, I say you eat the buffet! Fill up on the salads and eat a little of this and that! Afterall, you are on vacation! I've seen buffets under 10 bucks. You can eat fruits and cereal for breakfast in your room. Go to buffets for lunch.

And what are you talking about you don't want to eat at buffets everyday! Las Vegas besides the gambling, shows, and night clubs, it's about cheap buffet food! Everyone eats out cause they're on vacation, whose gonna want to cook?

Did you know that pole dancing is now a form of exercising? I saw it on Oprah, and everything they say on there is true. I'm thinking about putting a pole in my room.

O_o i'm not gonna eat packaged salads on my vaca. i don't even eat them when i'm at home. i was thinking about going to guy savoy's restaurant, but i'd need to make way ahead of time reservations and spend like $300 bucks, so ... i think i'll pass. unless i win a lot $$$$.

this girl i know actually took a pole dancing class, and now she's in AWESOME shape. and she can really move it on the dance floor. it's 90 minutes of intense cardio 3 times a week, so it's really good exercise.

So really, it doesn't matter how much you eat ............. it's the size of the pole in your room that's gonna keep you in shape.

Gugu, who is that kid in your avatar? You know that fat chubby one. Is it you? LOL!

Just because a Buffet is all-you-can-eat. Doesn't mean you have to stuff yourself with food, Pem. Just go eat the vegetables and salad you want. And if theres meat and stuff that you're tempted to eat, just eat a little of it. It's how you build discipline, if you can control your food lust, you'll be fine.

But its important that you exercise to give balance to all the food you eat. I mean eating is to nourish you and give you energy but if you don't use up that energy, you become fat. Becomes inbalanced.

Go to an off-Strip buffet. They do have buses that take you from the Strip to downtown and there's quite a few cheap buffets there. Main Street Station was pretty good and does have soups and salads. I think it's $7 or $8 for lunch, which is about the same price, if not less, than fast food. Orleans is the same price range and food is quite good, though it's not downtown and will require a car.

Umm.... but if buffets aren't your thing, I'll have to think about that.......

I didn't know mods could say this. But, I have to disagree. It's how much you workout with the pole, not the size of it.

then you must be in great shape, judging by the variety of poles you keep you in your bedroom. careful you don't over exert yourself and tear something back there.

and i'm not really into the buffet thing. it's a combination of factors, really.

i want something quick and on the go,...so i can go back to gambling.

and i don't want to spend 8 bucks on just going to the salad bar. these costs add up. i'd rather skimp on food and use the money for something else...like gambling!

also, i'll be by myself most days, so i don't want to be the lonely person going to buffets every day by myself. a lonely gambler is much cooler.

and going off strip for food isn't really appealing to me. yeah, i'll save the 10 bucks by going to those buffets, but it'll cost me 15 bucks for the taxi ride over. -_-

sigh, i guess i'll just go troll around the food courts. i think the paris has a la creperie.

Uh huh! And it's quite good. That was also our option for cheap eats (I think ~ $8) that is not fast food. Although, I'm not certain how high it rates on the healthy scale....

I see what you mean about the lonely person at the buffet.... I wouldn't like that either.

ehh just go to a fast food place, eat whatever and then you'll prob lose that running around in the casinos./ using a pole or whatever. lol

or yea, im guess food courts and grab a sandwich if the above is not an option. & youre going to vegas? thats cool!

shhh, the name is in french! i'm just gonna pretend it's healthy. even though it's like carbs with carbs. i tend to prefer savory crepes. maybe i'll get one with lots of spinach and mushrooms.
