I actually have this series on vhs. it had been a long time since i watched it though. i don't remember much about it, but i think maggie had a thing for gordon in this. gordon joins the army with austin whose family gets kill by the khitans. they also meet up with that girl whose godfather gets killed by burning himself with these important documents that the khitans were after. this group encounters benz hui and become oath brothers and sister together. they all join the army together and the girl has to pretend to be a guy to make it. gordon gets together with the other girl that he joined the academy with. i think austin liked that girl too. toward the end, austin and gordon has a fight but don't remember over what. again i don't remember much from it, it had been a while, i might take another look at it. sorry.

Austin became the last emperor of the Zhou dynasty but he was still jealous of Gordon's fame and charisma--people loved him and admired him but Austin wasn't as much. So he came to hate Gordon.

Oh, she's the girl who plays the prostitute. She has a few scenes with Leon Lai in the beginning! She was also in The Grand Canal as Jimmy Au's wife, if you watched that series.

Thanks Suet Seung! I know she was made Empress, but thought she married Gordon Liu. I didn't know Austin will become emperor as Gordon was the only one wearing the emperor costumes on the cover of the dvd. Anyway, is her character small or what? Is she the second lead female after Maggie? As you know, I really like her. She's very pretty despite the fact that not that many people know her.

can anyone tell me what was the dialogue about between austin and gordon before austin's death??? all i know is that gordon promised to take care of austin's family and not be emperor. sorry all, my vhs of this series is in such bad quality that you can hardly hear anything anymore, would be so much better if there were chinese subtitles like they do now.

also, what happens at the end, my vhs cuts it off right when gordon becomes emperor and is asking his subordinates to hand over "bing kuen", what happens afterward??? does leon get with maggie at the end??? thanks all.

wong yee kum's role does not seem big in this series... i think they were promoting maggie more here.... the 4th sister had a pretty big role... who is she???

In the end, Leon's character went back to look for Maggie. I'd assumed they got together.

Throughout the story, I just can't understand why Maggie's character was so in love with Gordon. Leon did so much for her and he's not only handsome, he's also very intelligent and a good fighter ( I agree, his character really reminded me of Chor Lau Heung..except, he's very loyal and faithful to just one girl). Too bad, back then, TVB should've film Chor Lau Heung with Leon as the lead. He looks very good in ancient and he's very charismatic.

ah I remember this series.... first ancient costume series I've seen with Leon in it. I remember liking this series a lot back then. I used to be a very big fan of Maggie =)
