China Southern has the worst food and flight attendants. I was abandoned all by myself when i was traveling alone to china when i was young. I was seriously so confused and lost.
I don't think quantas serves vegemite because it's something that a lot of people won't eat.
Yum Yum Yum; Vegemite
Ooo, really?
Yes, many years ago it was terrible, although it seems much better recently. I mean, I lost my phone on the plane, and all the flight attendants searched throughout the whole plane, when it was in my bag.
Sometimes it's hard to love someone because you're so afraid of losing them.
I heard a cute joke about Airplane food on TV. It was in the form of a news report. It seems a woman was prevented from breast-feeding her baby because no one is allowed to have better food than anyone else on the plane.
Vegemite is AWFUL
It almost looks like Nutella...
But it does NOT taste like Nutella. At all. Nutella is god and Vegemite is the devil.
China Southern has bad flight attendants? I've never flown on that before, but I heard Chinese airlines are supposed to have excellent flight attendants since there's so much competition for the positions. Supposedly, besides performing their regular services, they have to be attractive and everything. When I was at the Shanghai Pudong Airport, all the kong jie's that came off were at least 165 cm.

i thought some ppl might find this interesting...
reposted from the nytimesIn January, United removed half-ounce pretzel snack mixes from the economy section of flights that are less than two hours long, about 29 percent of its flights, to save what it says is about $650,000 a year. (Cutting out pretzels has reportedly saved Northwest $2 million a year.) Meanwhile, American has estimated that it would save $30 million a year by eliminating free meal service in coach. Last September, in a move that extinguished any hope of hot meals returning to coach, the airline removed the rear galleys — including the oven — from its MD-80 aircraft and replaced them with four seats. That change, the airline told The Washington Post, will be worth an additional $34 million a year.

most of the time i go on SIA, and the last time i travelled on another airline was quite awhile ago so i can't really compare. but i do remember when i was still a three-year old kid, the toys they gave me on SIA were better than other airplanes. i still keep those
anyway, most of the time, i store a chocolate bar in my bag to eat just in case i don't like the food. oh yes, one more thing, i think their kid meals are better, although i don't qualify to have them anymore
i don't think anything makes it taste yucky, it just does most of the time. strictly talking about SIA, i think that sometimes it also depends on your choice of meal. like when my parents eat something different from me and i taste their meal, it's just BLEAH. but mine tastes fairly good. but if i had a choice, i'd rather eat my own stuff. but then again you got to think about the airline, they can't possibly cook the best food and serve so many people on the plane, and they can't bring all sorts of dishes onto the plane for selection also, there's no space!4) Do you think airplane food deserves its bad reputation, or do you think other factors, such as the high altitude, influence the taste of it?
that reminds me, why can't they serve instant noodles? it's handy and you just have to add hot water. except msg makes everyone's hair fall -.-
well, i've never flown first class in my life (although i want to ), but i've flown business class before on SIA. the food is definitely better than what you would expect on economy class. plus, they serve their meals in courses and you can order drinks anytime you want that was nice considering i like to drink also, their meals don't look mashed up like they do on the trays in economy class. and somehow it seems like larger portions to me, no idea, because some people say it isn't. well, i don't know (:5) If anyone has ever flown first class as well as economy, how does the food differ between the two (not that I will be flying first class anytime soon)?
but seriously, you're just flying to another country and your holiday is not on the plane, so it doesn't really matter because you know you're going to have fun at your next destination

BA's pretty good most of the time. Def. the china airlines are some of the worst ones, though I had my best fruit dish on china southern, cos I was flying hokkaido to shanghai. There's a reason why a japanese apple/pear/peach cost $3 whereas fruits from china are like 50cents each.
1. I LOVE airplane food. Sure, they don't taste that great, but it has that certain feeling to it...I'm not sure. Maybe it's just because whenever I eat airplane food, I'm always going to Taiwan (I love that place!).
Yes, it depends on where you're flying to. Because, that depends on the kind of food. I usually go to Taiwan a lot, and of course, they serve Chinese food. And, I'm sure that if I fly to Italy, there'll be Italian food. haha.
2. I haven't been on that many airlines, but the one I like, is EVA Airlines. (Going to Taiwan).
3. I'm not quite sure.
4. It depends on people's tastes. I mean, everyone has their own opinion, so I don't want to say anything.
5. I've never been on first class, but judging by info that I've learned, I'm sure that first class food is soo much better. Well, they have a larger variety of choice for their meal, and it probably has better "quality" than economy's.

The one time I've been on the airplane was when flying from New York to BeiJing. But the plane broke down so we had to catch another ride to San Fransico. The food was okay during that flight since we only had like a snack and stuff (the food that night at the hotel was amazing!..... it was Double Tree) Then the next day, we flew from San Fransico to Hong Kong. And on that plane, we had the best food ever. There was like this snack with dry noodles where you had to pour hot water in it, and it was extremely tastey! *yum (I even ate my dad's since he didn't want it). And most of all, we had the cutest flight attenedant ever. He was from like Korea and he was extremely cute (yeah, i was being crazy and loving him). Anyways, then in Hong Kong, we went on a plane called "Red Dragon" or something and they had pretty good food, but I was like already stuffed. They served amazing ice cream. But on the way back from BeiJing to New York, the flight attendants sucked and the food sucked too. It was "Continental Airlines" and I extremely despise it. And Asian flight attendant are also either handsome or pretty, while Americans have a lot of old people as flight attendants. Yep, I'm finished.

1) So far, all the airplane food I've eaten are yucky meals so i usually just skip them and ask them for soft drinks. They're cold, have a weird smell, have a weird taste, and from a person who comes from a country that offers great food everywhere, throughly disgusting. So thank you for starting this topic.
2) No
3) All. I've not tasted any decent airplane food.
4) I admit I'm dumb. I have no idea.
5) I've never been on first class nor economy.
And this just in from MSN:
"Have a look at the latest Zagat airline survey, and you’ll see that with few exceptions, the food really is terrible. As a group, the major airlines are bottom-feeders, scoring 5 out of a possible 20 points (US Airways, Northwest Airlines, American Airlines) or 6 (Southwest, United). Delta got a 7, which is about 35 percent — still an “F.” One reviewer, when asked to describe the food on a major airline, rated it as “pitiful.”
Some airlines are offering to sell you better on-board meals.
1. well, i am always enjoying my meal time during flight. some are tasteless but not that badOriginally Posted by [B
2. never tried Qantas, but Cathay serve tasty food.
3. Korean is cheap, but i dont really like the food. beside when i ask for a glass of coke, i told the attendant twice and they didnt bring me at all.
4. high altitude definitely not the factor at least in my case. suppose to be low budget for economic class.
5. never been there before
airplane food is ok imo...not the best but just fine...at least better than the foods we eat in qing xi bwahahahaha
