    Default Wii--do you have one?

If you do have one, do you recommend it for a 6 yrs old?

I can't answer that question, but I do want to point out that for months, the question "Do you have a Wii?" has been a running joke among my friends and me.

Shouldn't this be in the Gaming Forum?

Anyways, my friend has a Wii. It's fun, but it can also be a little dangerous for a 6 year old. The controller can fly out of your hands. Of course, there are straps for the controllers, but a 6 year old might not always use it. But the target group for Wii is intended for younger crowd, 8-16, unlike the PS3 and Xbox.

The Wii is for people of all ages, while PS3 and Xbox360 are for the core gamers. Well, at least that's what Nintendo tries to tell us. The controller shouldn't be much of a problem as long as there is parental guidance.

    So, do you have one?

My friend bought one for her kid's 7th birthday. And the kid hasn't had any problems with the remote flying out of his hand.

i'm planning on getting one soon, and i've played it a couple of times. i think a young child would really enjoy it. and there's really no chance of the controller flying out of the kid's hand, unless he regularly oils his hands up to play wii tennis. -_- even so, there's a wrist strap. those parents who complained about this "problem" really over hyped it. i'm not implying that they're retarded or mentally deficient in any way, but let's just say "normal" people would have no problem.

I bought one when it came out but have not playing it at all. Waiting for Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers.
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.

There IS a chance for the controller to fly out of your hands. That was one of the main problem for the Wii right after it came out. Of course, this would only happen if you were careless and not use the wriststrap, even if you were an adult. But with children, they could be pretty careless, and if you're anything like my 8 and 9 year old cousins, they get pretty worked up and excited when playing video games, so you don't need to be retarded for this to happen.

I got the xbox 360 at retail price $400 almost two years ago. Just got my PS3(60gig) for $350 flat. Got it from a coworker. Not sure how he got it but I dont care. It's brand new & $150 cheaper than retail. I'll probably get a WII from my coworker as well. He's selling it at $150. Not too sure I want it. I dont like kiddy games.

Damn I really want one. I had so much fun last Christmas break at my friend's house beating up all the people in the room for the boxing game and I don't even know any kungfu. But wayyy too expensive, and I'm so fickle, will probably get bored in less than 2 weeks, wasting $500.

One thing I like about it--it gives you exercise! I actually got SOREEE from that boxing game haha...but still worth it to see the look on the guys' faces when I kicked their asses =)
