    Default Halloween

How are you guys going to celebrate Halloween? Anybody going to dress up as anything wild and crazy? Do non-Americans celebrate Halloween or have an equivalent? Do you pass out a lot of candy?

I haven't dressed up for Halloween since first grade, but this year, i'm trying to convince a friend to have a party so I can dress up as Optimus Prime. I can just imagine opening my door to pass out candy in my outfit. Last year, about 60 kids came to my house trick or treating. We ran out of candy and I had to pass out granola bars. We soon ran out of those, and I saw another group of about 6 kids coming, and I had to run and shut off our porch light. I saw a bunch of my neighbors do the same. This year, we might have to budget for about 100 kids.

Please share your Halloween memories, and any funny pictures.

Oh Pem, I don't have the money to give out candy for free. I rather buy candy since they're on sale usually during October because of Halloween and keep them and eat them for myself! Of course, I have to eat them moderately or else I'd gain weight. Hee-hee

Last time I dressed up, I was a vampire and I can't remember when that was. Oh well.

I don't celebrate Halloween. In fact, I don't think there are many Asians who do (anybody here living in Asia who celebrates halloween)...maybe some people will have a halloween themed party, but no trick-or-treating here. Although, I would love to celebrate it....sounds real fun!

I remember reading on SPCNET about dressing up as wuxia characters for Halloween. It was one of the first topics I remember reading. I wonder if anyone will ever do it.

Ha lucky our area is still newly developed so fewer annoying kids come to bother us.

I have a funny story--we wanted to get rid of these Chinese seaweed thingeys that I didn't like...so I stuffed them into people's bags. And the stupid ungrateful brats were whining, "Whaaaat IS thiiiiis?" and I just replied, "Candy! Happy Hallowe'en" SLAM. Ha, wonder if they liked it...not like I was poisoning them or anything..it WAS edible =P

I hate it when high school kids come for candy..just grow up already. I stopped going after Grade 8 sheesh. I used to have this really really scary mask that would cause me to get less candy and make little kids cry (this was back when I was only 10 years old). So essentially, for the candy, I had to give it up and put on a Mickey Mouse one so I can enjoy the candy...so sad. And my mom secretly threw out my favourite mask..what a sad day of my life.

i haven't trick or treated since the 4th grade...though i would love to trick or treat in beverly hills (no one can tell when ur behind a mask, i'm just a fast growing kid!). perhaps they'll pass out $100 bills instead of candy . though i should probably be grateful if they don't send the security guards one me instead

When I was little, there was a nice old man who gave us loonies ($1) for 'treats' =P Back then, $1 is worth more than now...so it was very nice of him. We wanted to go back again, but we were nice, honest children and didn't want to exploit the nice old man.

And there was a nice old lady who gave out handmade crafts =)

Sadly, did not have a photo of it. I wished I did. We had 5 of the original 8 SF characters. Ryu, Ken, Honda, Guile, and Chun Li. Guess who I was?
