What if DYQ was the one who broke the chess game (and he did sort of break it by helping XZ).

What I don't understand is that Wuyazi actually inquired about Elder Kurong, like he wanted Kurong to get in. What the hell! Kurong's face is probably even scarier than Duan Yanqing's, no way would Kurong be anywhere near what can be considered good looking. The opposite is true. And Kurong is probably as old as Wuyazi.

I think it'd also be weird to conceive the imagery of Wuyazi pumping massive energy into 90 year old Elder Kurong of all people.

WYZ probably asked about kurong because when he went into the cave originally, kurong was probably a young and hansome monk who was just making a name for himself. WYZ probably was unaware kurong had gotten ugly.

I would think WYZ will actually kick Duan out, i mean... even Zhang SanFeng lived to at least 110. WYZ could wait for some more years than compromise with Duan. But thats just what i think.

I don't think Kurong is any younger than Wuyazi himself.
Even if Wuyazi were ambushed 20 years ago,
Kurong would have still been around 70 years old (he's the uncle of the
Ben-generation monks, who are probably around 60 themselves).
That's hardly young. Handsome -- probably not either.
I think it was stated that Kurong had been learning this
Zen method for the past 30 years, without speaking to anyone.
This Zen method made his face appear frightening.
