Default Cookies - where are they hidden?

My computer and my Internet connection were running super fast at first, but now they are becoming more and more slow. I think maybe this problem is somewhat related to cookies. Simple question: Where can I find them in my computer if I want to delete them?

Look in My Computer /Local Disk (C) /Documents and Settings. You'll find a Cookies folder in your user Folder and you'll find more stuff in the Local Settings folder called Temporary Internet Files folder. The trouble with deleting things yourself is that it often just moves the junk somewhere else.

There's software like Evidence-Blaster 2008 [I think there's a free trial version] that can clean things for you as well.

That helps some but doesn't get rid of all the hidden stuff Windows has buried in your computer.

Go here for additional clean-up tools:http://www.tothepc.com/archives/2-to...-applications/

    If using Vista: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,2193371,00.asp

For temp int. files, I like to set... in IE, can go Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and under Security check mark Empty Temp Internet files everytime browser close sumping like that.

Due to several complaints, I will stop using the terms "Babe" and "Baby" in reference to our female counterpart. They will now be replaced with "B*tch."

I did all what you suggested me to do (merci!!), except that I still haven't downloaded the cleaner tools... I'm just a little bit worried: it's exactly what I'm looking for, but are those files safe?

In short, yesterday I changed my Internet settings like this: I set it so that all cookies are removed/all my private date are cleared when I close my Firefox session. Plus, I did a big cleaning in my local disk, I tried to track down all unnecessary cookies. I left some cache, those that - I think - are needed so that my programs can run. But my computer and Internet are still slow.

So to be on the safe side, I also just started my free AVG anti-virus. I'm waiting to see what result all this will give.

cookies and internet temp files contribute very little if any to the slowing of your computer.

Most likely programs/uneeded running in the background.
Also, are you running a firewall program? Could be trojans etc. just some possibilities.

Once in a while, a good reformat and install of windows is good.

I tend to think like you now. But reformat is not an option for me because of several reasons. Well, I don't have much choice, I will have to sweat it out. Tks.

    Hi,

    There are more junk than cookies that slow your computer down if you access the internet often. Sure, there a lot of free programs out there that cleans junk but unfortunately, they also clean out other things that give you problems with other programs. Two free programs that I am using and are quite safe are as follows;

    Easycleaner. http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniarts/ecleane.htm
    Cleanup http://www.stevengould.org/index.php...d=26&Itemid=69

    Hope this helps!

    Spyware Terminator http://www.spywareterminator.com/ and
