    Well here's my take.

You get a Mac to run Mac OS.
You get a PC to run Windows.

The internals are basically the same. It's the OS that is different with Mac OS being more stable and Mac's looking much seXier.

Due to several complaints, I will stop using the terms "Babe" and "Baby" in reference to our female counterpart. They will now be replaced with "B*tch."

Hehehe ok, I have one last question!

If I install Windows on iMac and it got a virus, will it affect the iMac OS as well?

Do you plan to have both OS installed? Anyway there is always the risk that the virus designed to attack Windows may also harm Mac OS if the virus was designed in a way to affect something that Windows and Mac OS have in similar.

Personally speaking, I strongly recommend you stick to PCs. Not because they are easier to use or better or w/e. I only recommend it because you are already familiar with Windows and if something happens at least you will have an idea of what went wrong.

PS: How about Linux, have you considered that also? Ubuntu Linux is cool. I have it on my Laptop as a Virtual Machine. + the OS is free to download and install.

not at the application...but at a system level then it is possible that a windows virus designed to crash ur boot record/hard disk partitions will indirectly affects OSX. but these viruses are rare.

Linux has a long way to go before i recommend non techie to use Linux. GX wants to play Windows games so Linux is out of the question.

Aiyah...Mac is actually not so user-friendly to right-handed users. Wahahaha.

As for Linux, it will cause her alot of grief if she knows hoot about it. All she wants to do with her computer is play games, not some geeky venture.

    And internet surfing.

In fact, I actually surf more with my PC nowadays than play games because I've shifted my gaming attention to consoles, but the future is unforeseenable.

    Internet surfing...

As of now, most sites are PC friendly than mac or linux friendly. That's my personal opinion for I use all three OS at work/ home.

Well I wonder, you think you could be able to somehow test out what an iMac feels like and how you think Mac OS is like before you actually decide to buy one?

Perhaps at a local computer store they may have some demo machines set up which you can go try out or something. That way I think you will be better informed then just listening to our various opinions.

Just because people say Macs have less virus risks doesn't always mean it will work out well for you, who knows, though it may have less errors and virus attacks you may end up not liking the user interface and functionalities.

That's a good suggestion. I would go about that before May, thanks.
