"Stupid" as in....those who renounced their intelligence,.... may I phrase it such?

My response for the topic.... For those who talk too much, talk less....that's another way of being eco-friendly.

To save our planet, we must let our powers combine!

    "EARTH!"
    "FIRE!"
    "WIND!"
    "WATER!"
    "HEART!"

    "Go Planet!"

"By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!"

    Captain Planet, he's our hero
Gonna take pollution down to zero

    He's our powers magnified
And he's fighting on the planet's side

    Captain Planet, he's our hero
Gonna take pollution down to zero

    Gonna help him put asunder
Bad guys who like to loot and plunder

"You'll pay for this Captain Planet!"

    We're the Planeteers
    You can be one too
'Cause saving our planet is the thing to do!

Looting and polluting is not the way
Hear what Captain Planet has to say!

    "The Power is Yours!"

I am sorry, but is the objective save the planet or save the humans from extinction by saving the planet? Very different answers you know.

I think the main objective is to save humans from extinction. I don't think it's possible as our science and technology are getting better and better every day. However, massive famine in many parts of the world is possible though

Totally agreed. If only there were more homosexuals in the world, who can live so responsibly and not have any children to increase our burden on the environment.

I converted to vegetarianism a while ago for many reasons, including environmental ones. Granted, a plant-based diet is not without its environmental detriments (and it'd be unnatural if we humans made no carbon footprint at all), but to argue that meat eaters are doing more to save our planet is a difficult argument to make, unless you're intentionally being farcical. Animals are higher on the energy pyramid and much of the world's soybeans, corn, oats, and grain go towards feeding livestock.

Being single and homosexuality are two different things. There are plenty of single people out there that are not homosexual. Ken, Trinie and I are in our 30s and single and I don't think any of us is homosexual. It's indeed good to have children if they can/able to raise the children properly.

Good for you, but unfortunately most people still want to eat meat.

Humans are mainly meat-eaters, probably since from the beginning. Nothing wrong with that. The only problem is that we got greedy and overmultiplied.

I agree with Guo Xiang, over-population is the main problem. The earth has finite resources that can only sustain a certain amount of population, we must strike a balance with our environment. Over consumption is another problem as well, some people just use too much resources. But the masses will not change their ways and the problem will worsen until they have no choice.

Guys don't worry too much about overpopulation. The poor countries are just reaching the expected population for that given fertile land. If we divide the world into three characteristics, the first group (western society) are already near static, the second group (richer and more stable developing countries) are progressing towards being static, the third group are still several decades away and are expected to double in population before reaching a balance.

The main cause of increase fertility is war. Create peace, poverty will improve and population will come down. Need to change the oyster mentality (have 100 children at a time) into blue whale mentality.

Don't worry, mother nature always know how to care for herself. When there are too many humans on earth and very irresponsible, she will unleashed cataclysm/disaster and we're back to normal.

    - Bubonic Plague
    - Black Death
    - World War
    - Earthquake
    - Tsunami and flood
    - Deadly influenza

just wait for it, it will come, one way or the other...

    You forgot AIDS.

Sometimes Mother Nature doesn't look for us; instead, we look for her to give us some new challenge.

Nice...but a little claustrophobic. If I had to live in a space colony, I'd choose one with huge external windows.
