And guess what? I'm sure most people who haven't read or watch the novel would think that "飞刀" is flying knife or flying chopper but in actual fact, its a "flying dagger"!!!

I happen to be one of those people in the past.
huh??? of course its flying dagger.... thats the exact translation of 飞刀

Because its "刀". People who have no or little interaction with wuxia would probably think that its a broadknife or butcher knife.

But 飞刀? It actually literally means flying dagger.

I know the translation's correct. I don't know why, just can't picture a 飞刀 being a flying dagger. Maybe, that's just my weird thinking again..

But a flying broad knife would be quite interesting..

Yea but you were suggesting that by taking 刀 literally, it means a normal knife or broadsword. And putting 飞, it might mean flying knife or flying broadsword.

But by putting 飞刀, it actually means flying dagger, and nothing else, literally or non-literally.

I think that at one point during the 1970s, Luk Siu Fung was as popular as Chor Lau Heung or Lee Chum Foon. In more recent years, however, LUK SIU FUNG's popularity has waned somewhat.

I voted for Li Xunhuan at first, but then only because of his nickname is more well known. I do agree that not many people knows who the hell Li Xunhuan is, but Xiao Li Fei Dao, everyone does.

In fact, talking to my friend about Li Xunhuan, and mentioning his dagger skills. My friend asked, "Is he as good as Xiao Li Fei Dao". Enough said.

There was a long chain of crappy unsuccessful LXF adaptations.

I'd say Chu LiuXiang, though XiMen ChuiXue is my favourite.

LXH's Xiao Li Fei Dao wins in a landslide.

This is followed by LXF > CLX > Yip Hoi > Other GL heroes (e.g. Shen Lang).

I'm looking at the poll right now, and it says 10 to 10 (Chor Lau Heung and Lee Chum Foon).

    Some landslide.

Democratic Party loses out b/c many of their supporters aren't eligible to vote, for they're not US citizens.

I'd say that if you claim to be Democrat yet don't vote, you can't be really that smart at all. If this is offensive to you, think about what voting entails.

In any case, LXH wins by virtue of XLFD. Otherwise, it'd be LXH who?

Bush won fair and square twice so the democrats better get over it and stop whining... I don't see the republicans whine when they lost the election... I can assure you that there will be more whining if McCain beats Obama in November.....

I didn't know that song was that famous. I only got to know it after coming in contact with the Vincent Jiao series (in which Li Xuanhuan is a pretty boy).

The Chinese living in Asia know the song pretty well. Its one of those songs which everyone will recognise when just the background music plays.

Did they re-use that song in the re-makes? I never watched any of them.
