DGSD was the story of Deun Yu, Kiu Fung, and Hui Juk, in roughly equal parts. Which of the three brothers' stories did you find most compelling?
Deun Yu
Kiu Fung
Hui Juk
Actually, I preferred when their threads merged into one.

This is gonna be worst than the slaughter at Ju Xian manor....
To be honest I like them equally as much. But I think I like Duan Yu's slightly slightly less.
Question is, what if their stories were released standalone? (although they may overlap a bit)
Maybe we can have a Trilogy series or something?

All 3 are unique in their own way.
XF's story lacked the usual 'kung-fu' learning. Not that it is bad, just noting it.
DY's was annoying for his WYY worship and pansy attitute.
XZ was a bit if a bummer for being such a klutz in some ways.
Having the 3 stand alone would not be as good as having them together. I only wished that they had more adventures together. Their time together was very short.
Only problem with them adventuring together is the total lack of opponents to give them problems. Between them, they should solve every trap, poison, chess mystery, kung fu or medical problem or just smash the foe's butt.
Its BIxie Jianfa Gawdammit you guys!!!!
Back to topic, my choice would have to be Xiao Feng.
You just know that he's going to kick some a** or something with his ability and huge frame unlike the other two. Although going into the part of Ah Zhu dying can be a bit sad and shock.
That was a bit too sudden as both XF and Ah Zhu was starting to get along pretty marvellous with each other.

I have a feeling that Duan Yu's internal is comparable to Xuzhu's. XF reckoned pre-JMZ DY's internal is greater than XF's. I think DY must have more than 2 times XF's internal by the end of DGSD, thus closer to XZ.
liked duan yu the most

i'm not a fan of the story so i don't prefer any.
if they were a stand alone. i think i would like the HJ one more. since he is a more likable character.
xf is way to morbid for me. with all the dying and macho themes involved.
has anyone notice the difference in story between the 3,
dy is the family, his whole story is based mostly around his family matters.
xf is the country, where his battling between loyalty for two countries.
hj is the 'giang ho', fighting between clans and stuff.
on a whole i think it will appeal to more readers.
Currently in love with Bae Suzy...for superficial reasons.
Xiao Feng by far. I like the mystery and the serious mood of his story.

Only very superficially and tangentially can this be applied.
All three of them found out who their real father was.
All three of them ascended the ranks of a country.
All three of them had a tie to prominent Jiang Hu clans/sects/unions.
The book certainly didn't paint them allegorically, and any claim that it was probably came from an adaptation.
DY went from prince to emperor of Da Li.
XF earned a top ranked position of Liao.
XZ became jindaofuma of Xixia.
XZ probably has the least power of three of them.
Lol.
I swear, we posted that simultaneously.
But well, Xuzhu didn't really ascended the ranks.
