for some reason, lss looks different than usual in the first picture, not really like her...idk how to explain it, but she just looks...different. the first picture doesn't really look like her, imo.

Yea, I agree that the pics look dif than she usually looks. I think maybe it's the makeup? Before this I've only seen her in Li Guo Li productions, so maybe she always had the same makeup artists before this. I think she looks much better in here than usual. I also did think the Liu Yi Fei looked really good a Wang Yu Yan, and not as great as Ling'er. So maybe I just like the make up artists that Zhang Ji Zhong uses?

All of Li Guo Li's recent productions have had a sort of dark, dreary, almost of blue tint to it... maybe that's also affects how LSS looks in the dramas I see her in - Does anyone notice this? Or is it just my comp? Cause nothing else looks this way.

But def, LSS looks good here. I have high hopes for this drama.

I like it that YRL has the long sleeves like XLN had in ROCH 2006, and in the closeup the front of her gown has an overlapping scale design which was also used on XLN's gown. That's a nice subtle way of showing their relationship.

The actress who played YRL in the 86 version is Shallin Ja. She's my favorite YRL too, so far. And I love her alot in Jue Dai Shuang Jiao (The Twins), 1988/Tony Leung's version, as Su Yin.

Looks like LSS would make a good YRL.

I'm very sad that Guo Xiang will not appear in this adaptation. How can they make the Zhang Junbao story works without GX's appearance?? It doesnt make sense.

I actually think LSS and LYF look prettier in LGL's productions as opposed to ZJZ's. Ady also looks prettier in Chinese Paladin as opposed to here.

I thought both LYF and Ady looked good/better than what they are in ZJZ's ROCH and now HSDS.

LYF as Ling-er and Ady as Yue Ru. For LYF, probably when she first met Xiaoyao and for Ady, its probably before and around the time she died.

The entire crew have currently reached Peach Blossom Island and will resume filming soon. A press conference will be held on the island on the 27th of Dec. ZJZ states that they will stay on the island for approximately a month and use this time period to finish filming all the sea and island scenes. Because filming this series requires many boats and ships, they will be re-using all the ships built for the filming of LOCH years ago. ZJZ also added that he is very pleased with the scenes filmed in Wudang as they managed to capture many shots of the beautiful scenery there.

Funny now they're sitting on what look like cardboard boxes and are probably supposed to be hiding and observing someone! (Do you think this is the filming of the night scene whose pictures we've seen some of already of them spying on Golden granny giving ZZR and the Ermei disciples a hard time?)

A few more picts, one of who I assume to be a stunt double of ZCS or YSS mid-air, and one of them as a family when they first return to civilization! Little ZWJ looks aptly terrified of his first glimpse (I'm guessing) of the world outside of fire-and-ice island. Actually, it is a nice touch if they make the young ZWJ innocent and a little shy of people- since he did grow up exclusively in the company of his parents and god-father!

Ady caught a serious flu before filming started on the island and the crew wanted to send her to hospital for a drip but the actress knew time and money would be wasted if she was absent from filming as she is the lead actress. Hence, she decided not to leave the crew and carried on working while taking medication. In one of the scenes, ZM needs to be soaked in water and director Yu Min initially considered not letting Ady soak in water due to her sickness but Ady wanted the scene to be realistic, hence decided to film the scene in water despite her illness. After coming out from the sea, which temperature was -5 degrees celsius, Yu Min quickly ordered for lights to be placed near Ady to warm her up. ZJZ also turned up for filming to show his support and quickly wrapped the actress up with a coat after she came out of the water, touching Ady with his concern. The crew was impressed by her professionalism.

Reporters ran into the crew filming "Zhu-er's death scene" a day before on Peach Blossom Island. Enduring the strong winds, Deng Chao and Zhang Meng cried their eyes out on the beach, completing the scene within a few successful takes. Reporters noticed that everytime Yu Min shouted "stop", Deng Chao, who has to carry Zhang Meng in his arms, will quickly prop her on his shoulder and run out of the water, speeding towards the shore to rest before the next take begins. The thoughtful actor explained that the water was freezing cold and he could not bear to put Zhang Meng (who was reported also to be sick) back down into the ice cold water and let her walk back onshore herself.

Yeah, it looks like a continuation of the scene they earlier shot of ZWJ, ZM and Xiao Zhao spying on GF Granny and the Emei ppl.

I just realised something in the pics of ZCS, YSS and little ZWJ. The stunt double for ZCS is not wearing any beard/mustache whereas Ken has mustache on. I hope its not obvious in the final product.

BTW, came across some extra shots of ZWJ and Zhu'er pics while they were filming in Wudang. I have to say that Zhang Meng's a real little beauty. She still looks pretty despite the stupid hairstyle!

Im quite disappointed to read that Ady is reluctant to film the kissing scenes she is supposed to have with Deng Chao because of the earlier rumors.

She seems rather blunt and sarcastic when discussing about Deng Chao, describing her relationship with him as an "icy" one. Though I hope both actors are professional enough not to let the rumors affect their onscreen chemistry. It'll be disappointing if ZM and ZWJ look awkward together onscreen.

The big curly hair looks a little weird at first but I think Dai Qi Si (purple dragon) looks decent on the whole. Her Persian getup is very simple and gives off quite a clean feeling but it doesnt look very stunning. I like the white gown though- it looks foreign enough. The puffy sleeves reminds me of one of the XLN outfits LYF wore in ROCH'06.

Yeah its quite cool that they made mother and daughter both wear colored contacts. According to this article, He Zhuoyan told reporters that her Persian outfit is going to be a very revealing one with low cut front and all.

Anyhow, she just expressed her reluctance on filming the scenes but that doesnt necessarily mean that the director will take it out. Though I really wonder how she'll film the scene when ZM kisses ZWJ passionately. I hope ZM and ZWJ wont come across as "holding back" or uneasy in the supposedly romantic scenes.

Deng Chao and Ady have insisted on not watching any of the previous adaptations so as not to allow past actors to influence their performance. Ady also added that the crew have come up with creative ways of portraying some scenes between ZWJ and ZM. For example, ZWJ tickles ZM's foot in mid-air (in the dungeon scene) and they've added some cute stuff in a scene where ZWJ kisses ZM.

In response to the negative reception she has been receiving on her appearance and getting to play the role of ZZR, newcomer Liu Jing has stated that she will not let all these affect her and is grateful to be chosen to play ZZR.

ZJZ is quite pleased with this production on the whole. He states that filming has not ended but he has already collected back 1/3 of the sum they invested in this series from distribution/airing rights sales. He added that the crew have already completed filming more than half the total scenes for the series and he is very pleased with the performances of the actors after watching some of the edited clips. At current, filming is still scheduled to end at the planned dateline- March 2009.

The clip's rather hilarious because instead of hearing purple dragon call out to XZ, we hear one of the male crew members reading out her lines to a crying XZ. HZY looks very pretty in the last pic; the curls and head accessory makes her look like some Greek/Roman princess
