    Question Do you reread books?

I have never reread any book after reading them, but I think I will start rereading books soon. I would like to reread the books I haven't touched over 10 years already. I think rereading them would be like reading them for the first time.

I guess for me its easier to rewatch a series than reread a book or book series. But I'll try this year to reread some of my beloved book series.

Sometimes, you get a different experience, a different perspective and a different feel from rereading a book.

    I do.

Yes. I would like to reread and see something new that I missed the first time. The problem with rereading is I already have a long list of books I haven't read and want to read.

the books i really love, i re-read. namely, all the jane austen novels. i've probably read pride & prejudice over 30 times.

others, i may re-read if i don't remember them at all. i started reading shakespeare and dickens and stuff when i was in elementary school (yes, i'm a nerd), and i've re-read some of those in my teens and 20s.

it's interesting to re-read these books because, after about 10, 15 years, you're a whole different person with different life experiences and different points of view.

Being a wuxia-phile, I would often reread specific passages and chapters of Jin Yong novels. Some passages I've read over 20 times and I still discover something new from time to time, which is exciting.

Yes, I always reread the books, unless I don't like them, or they are too academic for me to go through again.

Yes, when I am younger (<25). I will re-read story books I like e.g. Monkey God, Water Margin. Of course, I do re-read textbks for exam purposes.

I reread, but not always from cover to cover. It depends on the book.

I reread fairly often. There are books I've read 10 times or so...

Books I like, I read them again in about one year. Sometimes I will just read my favorite parts of the book.

    I do.....

I re-read Harry Potter & Eragon books several times already. Everytime a new book comes out, I read the new book first and then go back from book 1 again (and re-read the new book again) to refresh my memory.

I have re-read SamKok several times when I was little kid just because it took me several times to understand the story. Then whenever I went back home, I re-read that again just because I missed it.

I can say that I read most of my books more than twice.

If I enjoy a book, I'll read it again. I've read some of my favorite books a dozen times. I read the Lord of the Rings trilogy three times during the year prior to the release of the first movie, and I'd already read it five or six times before that. I think I'm currently on my fourth reread of Xiao Ao Jiang Hu / Smiling Proud Wanderer.

It helps that I read really fast. I can read about a page per minute in even the most wordy novel. It's driving me crazy that it's taken me six months to read The Lady in the Painting. If that book was written in English I'd be able to read it in 15 minutes.

The kind of books that I usually reread would be history books. I find that I get a different feel and perspective each time I reread them, and have a clearer understanding of what had happened too. For instance, The Holocaust: The Jewish Tragedy by Martin Gilbert, I've reread twice.

As far as history books are concerned, you'll gain new perspective and learn something new each time you flip that book again.

I mostly re-read a book when a movie is made about it - before going to see the movie. I like having my vision of the book fresh in my mind before seeing the movie. Then I'll often read it again after seeing the movie.

i think i have re-read a book maybe... 3-4x in my life. But then again i probably have read only 20books in my entire life. And i believe 6 of those books were harry potter. hehe! Too bad i havent read the last book of HP. Can't bother to read 800 pages... will just have to wait for the movie hp7 to come out. o.O' well!

I read most books only once in my life, but if a book is really touching, then I'd read it again, you know like rewatching movies.

Reading books at different ages does feel different, I guess due to the experiences, perspectives and insights we have from life.

I re-read The Secret Garden by Enid Blyton a lot when i was young, some romance novels and Ramses series by Christian Jacq.
